Abhishek - that gap between the bumper and the lower edge of headlamp - its on my friend's Safari too, tried every trick in the book to align the bumper properly with the headlamp but to no avail; some Tata guy told me that over a period of time the bumper plastic tends to lose it's 'firmness' and starts hanging low due to which this gap develops and so there is no remedy to this but to get a new bumper.
You will find a plenty of these, there is no point running behind them correcting every one of them, untill the things are holding in place. 4x4 if you find one then please PM me. I need one desperately.
I tried alot of times but he never picked-up the phone. That was the best I could do to follow him, if you know him please ask him if he has the vehicle and is agreeing to sell.
Finally decided to get the clutch plate changed. The clutch plate of tata vehicles are really robust. This is the first clutch change @1.45L Kms, in my last Safari also the clutch lasted more than 1.2L kms ( It was working then too, but I sold off the vehicle). The clutch plate and pressure plate plus release bearing, rear suspension bushes and both RVM costed 10,230 Rs with tax. Bought from outside TASC and will change the clutch plates and bushes tomorrow.
Man its great how you are not letting this vehicle die. Appreciate!
Is the clutch plate gone or are you doing it as a preventive maintenance?
Whats the break up of the price price of procured parts?
The clutch is working fine, but the pressure plate is on last stage of its life. The clutch is hard and the vehicle vibrates while picking-up from stand still even in 1st gear. So, decided that its time to get the work done. The pressure plate and clutch plate costed 2.5k each (original) and the release bearing costed 850 (original). Rear suspension kit 1550 (original) and the RVM 1350 each.
Got the things changed, total labor 2.5K. Clutch is super light and smooth now, the ORVM's are working fine. Next in line is boost pressure sensor, will get it changed today, my mec hanic has procured it from some other accidented car, so can't speak about price right now.
Got the boost pressure sensor changed still the check engine light issue persists. The quick diag. leads the issue to MAF sensor. Man! The sensors are pain in **s.
Back to the square one I guess - after the fire incident, the MAF sensor was the hardest to source, no? Time to call the Poona warehouse again.
Check Engine light is a problem in many 3.0s. In my friend's Safari, it'd come and go as per its will. Scary but nothing has happened till date. Fingers crossed, wallet grossed.

Check engine light comes and goes by itself in 3.0's. Its a manufacturing defect. But, the engine looses all the power due to LIMP mode of ECU when the check engine light comes ON. Have bought a electronics sensor cleaner spray for 150 Rs from a electronics shop, will clean the MAF sometime in coming days.
