Re: 95000 Kms done!

Hi Buddy, thats great that you are going strong with your beige hound the Vento, And advance congratulations on your upcoming 1,00,000Km Milestone. And my personal advice for you is not to go for a used car as you won't get the new car feel when you take it delivered and If you Are going to buy a used car better opt for a under 10,000Km Driven car. And In your replacement car may i know your requirements to suggest a perfect car for you[:)].
Thanks in advance doc.Actually,my dad has decided to buy an Innova Crysta soon as this car is used by himself and I will not involve in Innova's purchase as this car will be used by my dad and he is buying the car under our company name. For myself,I'm the one who is going to decide and my dad would put the money.

Sorey for going OT.

Btw,car has completed 95000 Kms and odo reading is more than 95100 Kms.

Present odo is close to 95700 Kms and car is running within city since last few days except airport run.Sometimes,it will be unused as my dad travels mostly in his friends cars.Thinking to do a trip to Tirupati in Vento sometime this week if all goes well.

And,will be completing 96000 Kms by this week.

Present odo-97600 Kms.Car will be resting for a week as we are going to Singapore and Malaysia in 6th June and will be back by 13th night.

Sad news-Fuel cap got lost when we were going on bad roads. Will update about it later and got an offer of ₹5.5-6L on this car from the person, who sold the car to us and planning to sell it off soon as this car has run close to 1,00,000 Kms.Planning to get Honda City this time or will go for S-Cross 1.6 as we don't want to go for VW and Skoda this time due to maintenance costs and already suffered a lot with higher maintenance costs.Hence, wanted a car with less maintenance and good reliability.I feel that ₹5.5-6L is a good price for this car considering it has run close to 1,00,000 Kms and with few scratches and dents.

I think this is the right time to sell the car coz if we cross 1L Kms,we might not get good resale value.

My experience with this car is good but maintenance costs are hitting us very badly.Thats the reason we want to be far away from VW this time and buy a car which is cheaper to maintain and can do for lacs of kms without any problems.

Btw,we had booked Innova Crysta. But cancelled it due to some reasons and getting a 2011 Innova VX from my dad's friend, who has booked Fortuner. He already has 2008 Innova but 2011 one ran rarely as he prefers only 2008 one.Btw,the Innova I'm getting has run just 72000 Kms in 5 years.Colour is grey.

S-cross suits you best.
You may also try new BRV if all you want is a affordable people carrier.

And if you have the budget, don't forget to check new XUV 500 or safari Storme 400.

Yes i too would suggest him to go for the S-cross. Or if he wants a comfortable sedan with lots of space below 13.0 Lacs i would suggest him to go for the Maruti Ciaz as it has a Mild hybrid system and a fuss free ownership experience and a less maintenance cost in which he mainly worried and complained about in the Vento. And yes music swift if you want a better resale value for your vento better sell it within 98,500-99,500 Km as mostly our people thin twice to buy a 1,00,000 Km driven Car, as a main concern its also a german car so its main repairs begins from the 1,00,000 Km point. Correct me if am wrong.

Tornado sir-Don't have parking place for V-Cross.Instead,will go for S-Cross 1.6.

bhvm sir-Sure S-Cross is one of the main contenders as the replacement for Vento. But,considering Verna 1.6 CRDI too.But no Brv as it looks like Mobilio.Instead, will consider City or Duster.

Dr-My mom's cousin's colleague, who had driven our Vento TDI when it was with our cousin,he said he got impressed with the car and already told my cousin if this car is up for sale,I'll buy this car immediately.Told the same to my dad and he is willing to sell the car to that guy for about ₹6L.Will update about the same in few days.

Btw,car has run close to 98600 Kms.The car was with my cousin as we were on a trip to Singapore and Malaysia for a week.He had driven it for more than 600 Kms in a week when the odo was 97700 Kms and he found clutch is harder than his 2014 Dzire Petrol and his friend's 2013 Vento TDI.But he said that it's good when it comes to mileage on highways. Will be updating about selling the car in few days.If all things go in a right way,we will sell the car to a guy,who is willing to buy this car.

Why not to wait till Tata's X1 based Nexon comes?
No Tata car will enter into our garage.Btw,I'm still waiting for the Innova, which I'm yet to receive it as my dad's friend's son might leave Delhi this week or next week as he works for Supreme Court. This is the 2011 Innova VX,which has run just 72000 Kms in 5 years and he is selling it to us coz he booked Fortuner recently and waiting for its delivery. He is having 2008 Innova V,which has run 2.15L Kms and he is not willing to sell this as he got emotionally attached with it.

Will update about the Vento whether we are selling it or not as soon as the Innova comes in.

Btw,I got an offer of ₹2.5-3L,which is too less Imo,from the previous owner, who sold the car to us.So,thinking to sell it to my cousin's friend, who drove the car when we went to Singapore and Malaysia and said he is mighty impressed with the car. So,Dad is willing to sell him the car for ₹5.5-6L.

MS,
I'll say that Tata HEXA launch in imminent and could prove to be a game changer. It's far better than any innova, atleast as appears on paper.

Its better to hold horses and watch rather than jumping the gun.

bhvm sir-My dad hates Tata vehicles as they are not proven as Toyotas.
Tornado sir-Was planning to get the same but I'll try these both on used cars.Even planning for used Superb too as he loved the car so much and his friend has one.But the Superb wala said that be careful while buying Superb. He said DSG clutch itself costs ₹50-60K and had many failures like DSG clutch, radiator failure(this happened 2-3 times).

Btw car is still few kms close to 99000 Kms(still 50-70 Kms to be precise) and still 1000 Kms to go for 1,00,000 Kms,which I'll complete it in few days as we are planning to go to Tirupati this week or next week.

And,my common friend had driven our Vento yesterday night and said its smooth and pleasure to drive even after the odo is close to 1,00,000 Kms and he didn't feel that car is going slow.Remember they have July 2014 Honda City, which has run close to 40,000 Kms in 2 years. When he compared Vento with City,he felt Vento is much better than their City. When I said him that we are selling Vento and he said that there is no reason in selling Vento as it is good in pickup and its engine is in good condition even after the odo is 1,00,000 Kms.Only thing which she require is giving new life to her by getting denting and painting.Even Michelin tyres are still doing good after doing more than 55000 Kms on it.The tyres are good for another 5-10K Kms.Already got denting and painting in March 2015 but colour matching was poor.Due to lack of time and being only car at home,we couldn't get those fixed.

Coming to the point in selling off the car,we are in two minds whether we should sell the Vento and get new one or get used one like Superb or Jetta and later get an used hatch like i20 for myself as I'm eligible to drive any type of vehicle as I'm completing 18 in few weeks(still 6-7 weeks to be precise) or retain this and buy myself a new hatch like i20,Figo,Swift,Baleno or Polo and later sell the Vento and buy a new sedan or a C/M/SUV.Now the problem is if we sell off the Vento now,we will be left with one car only and couldn't afford buying another one after buying new one by replacing Vento afterwards. So,we might put on hold in selling Vento for few months.Which option is best btw?

And,stay tuned for new updates from my side.

That's great idea, retain the Vento, for a new driver it is always good to have a used car than new one.
Yeah!My dad also felt that the car is good even after doing close to 1,00,000 Kms(86000-87000 Kms driven by us) and is aging very well and much better than our Swift. But thinking to go for new hatch as it will be driven by my mom and me mostly.I feel buying new car is way better than buying used one.

My plan is to buy new hatch as of now and later sell Vento and buy an Innova Crysta. But my dad's plan is to retain Vento and buy an Innova later. But I said second car is needed for city runs as I don't like my mom begging for Vento and let dad go in his friend's cars and go by uber and ola.The need for second car is arising day by day as we had 2 cars till 2014.Since 2014 Oct-end,we left with only one car. So,that's the reason we are looking for second car since ages.
