No Tata car will enter into our garage.

My dad hates Tata vehicles as they are not proven as Toyotas.

With all due respect to your father, allow me to share my views. Not buying a TATA car could be a personal choice which is OK but how can it be said that TATA cars are not as reliable or proven? All the people of previous decade still swear by both i.e TATA Safari and TOYOTA Qualis. Also, if TATA Cars are not proven of their potential then why are they still surviving in the commercial space at large? Or a bit OT here, Why has TIAGO been a hit with the people?

See, I am saying, every brand has its fair share of ups and downs. Even Toyota has. Their Etios Twins have not flown off the shelves. TATA too had failures in their kitty like BOLT and to some extent the Zest. So pin-pointing only one brand is not justified. And even engine wise, TATA Cars survive for a good period of time and so does TOYOTA. It all depends on how the owner keeps the vehicles. If the owner does not know how to maintain it then even a MARUTI will die a untimely death.

The only people who say TATA is unreliable and all are the ones who have never used it ever. And then the OP is complaining about VW's expensive maintenance.

Ok let's forget about this.Now coming to the car,it is not being used since last 2 days due to my dad having car pool in his friends BMW,Superb,Innova and others.

Today,when I came after checking Celerio at local dealer,my dad's friend(BMW and Superb wala)said sell Vento and buy Celerio Amt so that my dad could buy an Innova.I was shocked after he said us to sell Vento and buy Celerio AMT.I said him that we are not selling our Vento and instead of selling Vento, buying an AT or AMT hatch as a second car is a good option as it will be used within city only.

So,not selling Vento as it doesn't have any issues with it till now except maintenance.Instead,we would give her new lease of life as my brother's marriage is approaching in August and sell it later and buy an Innova.So no more discussions regarding new car replacing Vento.Only second car i.e an AT hatch would enter into our garage as as second car.

Btw,we are going to Tirupati this weeks after many hurdles and the odo might cross 1,00,000 Kms as we are doing about 1200 Kms trip.

99,000 Kms done!

Had completed 99000 Kms(we have driven 86000 Kms in 3.4 years)after long time.Since last few days,her usage got reduced to 5-40 Kms range as my dad is car pooling in Superb,BMW and Innova mostly and our driver also become irregular since last few days.Whenever our driver doesn't come at times,he will be carpooling in other cars as he doesn't get stress while driving an MT car in traffic.So,99000 Kms got completed bit late.Still 900 Kms for 6 digit figure.Had planned to go to Tirupati in this car but had to take an Innova due to unavoidable reasons.The Innova which we took is soon to be our car as the first owner has booked a Fortuner and still waiting for the loan to be cleared and has run just 75000 Kms in 5 years as he have another Innova,which is his first car and 2008 version.Thats the reason why he is giving his 2011 Innova to us as my dad didn't get impressed with Crysta due to its pricing and that uncle already knew that my dad is already in need for an Innova since long time.

Present Odo is 99103 Kms.Last year,when our Vento met with a major accident,we had decided to exchange this with Vento TDI DSG in blue colour but destiny had other plans.So,decided to hold on with this for sometime.Few months ago,when Skoda introduced buy in 2015,pay in 2017,my dad had thinked about selling Vento and get a Rapid DSG.But,I stopped him in buying Rapid coz I felt it was a downgrade from Vento in terms of features and luxury and I had heard horror stories of Skoda from Superb wala.If we are planning to replace Vento sometime,it would be an AT car only.

Btw,Michelin P3ST has run nearly 56000 Kms in 2.2 years and still good for another 10-15K Kms.

Stay tuned for 1,00,000 Kms update.Still 6000 Kms for her 1.05L Kms service.Had driven nearly 8000 Kms in 100 days after 90K service.

Good to know that you have completed 99 k km in vento 1.6tdi. I have rapid 1.6 tdi, completed 1 lack km in two year. 95% is highway driving. Car always guve milage of 20-23 kmpl.Rapid still feels like new. I have driven some new cars but there innomatch for power and build quality of vento and rapid. These two cars are really trustworthy, we take our rapid to 2000km drive without thinking for once. Mainly long term relablity cost is very low. I have seen lot of maruti which beg for engine overhaul just at 50 k km. There is no single rattle from the car. Overall i find rapid parts price is little less than vento.(both are same cars). Please try to keep your vento, new 1.5 tdi is not as punchy as 1.6 tdi.

I have test driven vento tdi dsg. Gear shifts are really sleek. Dsg do all the work in fraction of sec.mainly there is no pain of pressing really hard clutch of mt vento.In automatic vento/rapid tdi dsg is best you can get for your father.
If your vento is in warrenty then check all possible parts and fetures in car before it exceed warrenty. If it have any fault vw will replace it for you in free of cost.

Btw the odo of the car is close to 99800 Kms and will complete 1,00,000 by this week.Btw we had two highway trips,which we did nearly 450 Kms and got nearly 18 Kmpl(17.93 Kmpl to be precise).Not bad considering car has run close to 1,00,000 Kms.Vento is the only car which satisfied us so much.

Forgot to say that we had fixed new fuel lid cap as it got broken and paid ₹2483 for this at VW A.S.S.Planning to get it wheels aligned and balanced soon.Had planned it for today but couldn't due to lack of time.Was planning to get it done at asc but they don't accept the car,which has the tyre tread depth of 2.5mm and below.Planning to replace all 4 tyres soon as it has run nearly 60,000 Kms(57000 Kms to be precise)in 2 years.Considering Yoko Earth 1,Continental MC5 and Yoko S-Drives this time in 195/60 or 205/55R15.

1.6 tdi engine was used in superb and passat in europe. Rapid and vento have same engine with low level turobocharger in it. So this engine have very big factor of safety. If you replace necessary parts car will feel like new. If you are repainting your car, once think about car wrapping. It is reallt cheap than paiting and have its own advantage. I have seen one rapid completing 2.67 lack km in four years witout any repair in car. So i am sure your vento will do 2 lack km without any major issue.

Finally,6 digit figure has come!!

Finally,she completed 1,00,000 Kms today.As a gift,I got her wheels aligned and balanced as soon as I completed 1,00,000 Kms.I think I'm the only one in the forum whose Vento has run 1,00,000 Kms.

Now,odo reading is 1,00,146 as of now as we are in Warangal right now.Will be doing another 130 Kms in few hrs.
