Petrol ones have instantaneous FE feature instead of gear shift indicator, the former is not there in tdi models.

TDI Polos (CL and HL) have both gear shift indicator and instantaneous mileage indicator

And Rs. 10200 as duty+fine for something that costs Rs. 12,500? Jesus. Look at the pathetic state of our country. Isn't there some way you could talk to a lawyer and find out if you can do something legally?

Sanke that's a little sad to know that excise people are acting like big time jerks over this small thing. I understand that you have to pay 5.2k as duty which still seems justifiable, but what's with this Rs. 5k of fine?

I have a HL petrol.
There is no left pulling in my car. This issue was seen in very initial batches of polo no in new batches. Shed your worries and get this car.

Sending my car in tomorrow to check the juddery starts on 1st gear. Never pulls smooth from halt.

Just gave my car to Lalbaug Service centre.

1. The judder while pulling the car from halt has been identified as faulty engine mount. Hopefully to be fixed under warranty.

2. My car had horrible minor dents and scratches all over the body. Around 8 of them or more as my previous parking was in area where many kids rode their bikes and crashed into my car. I was quoted Rs. 15,000. Kinda feel ripped off for not being my fault entirely but need to suck it up. But at least managed to bring it down from 20,000 which was their previous quote.

Will be ready by Monday evening. Will report back.

There was a huge queue to check out the tail lights. I should have charged them by issuing tickets to recover some costs I was about to incur.

i hope you saw your petrol meter reading. when i gave the car the workers fully enjoyed the AC atleast 2 bars were down after i got the car.

Final charge was Rs. 16,890. They have done good detailing work and removed every possible dents and scratches. (Turns out they were 12 in total)

Car looks like new.

Somewhat satisfied but feel ripped off. They did not install new mounts saying that they don't have the part. Classic excuse. So my car still judders while starting to move. Very annoying in traffic.

That must be covered under insurance no?
About he judders, I isn't prominent in my case even though my engine mounting is also due for replacement. May be vibration or judder is dependent on driving style coz sometimes when my firend drives my polo, I feel some judders.

16980 is too much for paint-dent job unless those were big dents! Did you get a quote from any local paint workshop?

I am also planning to send my Polo to service center (it will be completing 6 months in May end) for clutch vibrations at higher rpm, the same judder you talked about and some minor scratches and a long one (all scratches happened in parking; that long one seemed like an intentional one )
