I am actually getting excellent FE. But my car has some clutch pedal problem where I get intense vibrations if I change gears above 3000 RPMs. I have also been advised by some race drivers that on normal roads, always change gears between 1500 to 2500 RPMs for optimal shifts which I am slowly learning to do with practice. For me, shift is perfect if no jerk is experienced after change. If I shift at 3000-5000 RPMs, my car experiences engine braking or what we call a huge jerk.

Our road is not a race track so it makes sense to avoid shifting late like NFS drag races. But at the same time I take care not to lug the engine.

Petrol engines can shift at lower RPMs compared to diesel. Hence only TDI Polos are having gear shift assistance on MFD.
I had bought Polo Petrol Highline (refresh model) in December last year, and I am facing a kind of similar problem of clutch vibrations but it happens on pressing the clutch (not just changing gears) at higher RPMs. Sanke, did you face this problem? I am thinking to take my car to workshop
Other than clutch vibrations, Polo is a real pleasure to drive!

Exact same problem here.
I had taken it to service centre a month ago but they said it's a non issue.

I will take it to the centre again and get the entire clutch assembly checked.

Stereo is stuck in customs since 2nd March. I tried to contact the morons but their line is either busy or no one picks up.Tracking says.. Retention reason : Awaiting proof of purchase/value from addressee
They have not contacted me nor send me any email I can send the ebay receipt.

I might drop by at their office in Santacruz to piss them off.

I have booked appointment for 26th at VW Lalbaug to get the clutch assembly thoroughly checked.

Waiting for you to get your new head unit soon from the customs. Regarding the clutch assembly, get it thoroughly checked. Although vibrations felt on the clutch is on the higher side in the Polo/Vento as compared to other cars. So it might just be normal, just needs getting more used to. Even i have noticed vibrations coming from the floor are also noticeably more than many cars i have driven. But I have driven like 5-6 different Polo's(all diesel), each one of them had these. So can't really say its an individual defect in your car. Still its better to get it checked.

Hi Sanke!

Looking good... can I ask where you got the mud guards from? eBay? I've looked there and there seems to be 2 types was wondering which one you went for.

Cheers,

Got them from the VW Workshop and they are OEM and fit perfectly. That way I didn't need to get my hands dirty.

The logo is a proper plastic replica as seen in the first pic above and not a rubber cap. It's definitely not easily detachable.

Here are more pics:

Your car in silver looks classy man. How about some more pics?
