Sanke your Polo is looking even meaner with that black VW logo in front. Great job mate. How about giving the same finish to the front grill like in this Polo i found on the VW Polo owners page on facebook. I am sure it will compliment the looks even more.

I have already thought about it mate. I am looking for matt black spray which will stick on plastic based chrome.

You should use vinyl instead of spray so that later you can remove that if you want.
Excellent idea

@Rightnow
If you plan to come to Mumbai, we can try to get it installed.

Today I applied Formula1 wax based polish. Unsure if it made any difference. Going to click few pics now.

What's the best one?

Where are the pics? I don't know but I have heard god things about Meguir and Formula 1 too. Check out the 'how do you clean your car' and 'what car care products do you use' threads.

Currently going through a lot of s*** with customs. They have detained the stereo and demanding Rs. 5200 as duty + Rs. 5000 as fine because the duty exceeded 5000. What kind of twisted law is this? So total duty of Rs. 10200 on item which cost me Rs. 12500. I made it worse by storming out of that office instead of bargaining/bribing them.

I called them up after a few days and they said they will release the item only after charging me 10200. Now I don't know. Were these guys looking for a bribe? Is the duty amount reasonable?

The amount is not at all reasonable.
I remember I bought a CD player from ebay which was 10k and I had to pay around 2.5k at customs. There is some other issue in your case I guess. May be they are charging customs on the basis of weight of the item, I am not sure but.

Visit them again and bargain.

Definitely not on basis of weight. They specifically had asked for Ebay receipt and bank statements to prove that I am not faking the receipt. The customs officer (In his late 20's) did some bulls*** calculation in front of me and reached the arbitrary figure of Rs. 10200. Then he yapped about how duty is applicable on items above Rs. 2000 and more blah blah blah. He was pissed when I called out his bluff but later totally had a sarcastic smile on his face.

That's why I stormed out of that place. Not my best move but I already had enough that day.

You have definitely not given up, so what's the plan of action?
When I called their office last Friday, luckily that same guy picked up. (Maybe he is also a part time call centre guy?) [lol]
I asked him about the packet and gave him the customs retention number. He immediately remembered me.
He said since I stormed out of the office, they felt that I no longer wanted the item. I sternly told him that they are liable to release the goods since I had provided them with receipt and bank statement. To which at first he said, I have to pay the said amount when postman arrives at my home with the packet. Then he said that he needs to apply for exemption but quickly changed the sentence to "We will see what we can do"

I still don't know what is to be done here. He refused to tell me his name. The tracking says the item is still at their retention center.

Seems like the guy is trying to make some quick bucks out of your case. Talk to some other guy from the office. I haven't interacted with customs ever so don't know much about the process, but do they have agents/pimps like passport offices have? If they are there, get hold of one.
