Vipin, the best idea is,swap your Vento tyres (195/60R15 Bridgestone MY-02 tyres) to Polo and get 205/55R15 tyres for Vento. And,get some hot looking alloys for Vento and Polo.

17" is unsuitable for our roads, especially since the car is a daily drive. Plus the suspension will take a beating and there is no way we can use our cars for around 10 years, using the car as a daily drive. It's best to stick to the stock size or go up one size. [:)]

I am sure 16" would be ideal with good grip and stability while offering ideal ride quality. I have checked couple of O.Z, Sparco and MSW wheels. But very costly compared to Lenso (I am talking about dealer prices not MRP [cry] ). Are you interested?

That is actually a good idea and I had thought of it a while back. Plus the tyres on the Polo have worn out a bit though they have atleast 10,000 kms life left in them (she has done 27k+ kms as of date). But the downside, from what I've read is that, due to the 205/55 being a bit too grippy, you lose the kick you get when the turbo comes to life (in the Vento). I'm having too much fun at the moment with the turbo kick to give it up. [glasses] My car sometimes even wheel spins in second!!!
And another issue is budget. I mean. Alloys for the Polo AND Vento plus new tyres would be ripping all my pockets, not just small holes in them. [:D]

Can you PM me the dealer prices you got? And which designs have you checked out? My GF kinda liked the Lenso Endo. I had mailed the dealer in India and he said it was available in 15".

Do you have a brochure or something through which I could go through to check out the pictures of the alloys? I love OZ, Sparco, MSW and Lenso rims [:D]

I haven't seen the CQ4 on any car till now so I can't comment on how it will look. Saw a couple of pictures and looks good in them (it was on an OHC).

I had an MSW brochure somewhere in my car. Let me see if i can find them. I will be going to Bangalore in near future and will collect some brochures for you (O.Z, MSW and Sparco).

Lenso dealer is located in Delhi so can't go there now[;)]

He he. Thank you so much Sankar. We have to meet up sometime. But the problem is I hardly find time to come to TVM. Anyway. I'm looking for 15" alloys for my Polo (or Vento). I saw a couple of good designs. Will put up pictures here tomorrow (it's on my other computer). Do let me know if you can find the price for those rims.

Do post the pics here Vipin[:)]

15" seems the practical option with good grip and braking abilities while marginal decrease in FE. 14" would be ideal for FE and higher profile in 14" would be best for ride quality.

I spent three hours cleaning and claying my car. Since it was the first time I was claying her since I bought her, it took some time.
I used Bilt Hamber medium clay bar to clay her. No lube was needed. Only water. The claying picked out a bucket load of contaminants off the car. There was a noticeable difference in the white before and after claying. And the paint feels smooth too. But some of the stubborn tar stains haven't been removed. I'm guessing the clay wasn't abrassive enough. Need to use diesel to remove it.
There are loads and loads of swirl marks on my Polo. I am waiting for Travancore Auto Spa to open their branch near my house so I can take her for a paint protection treatment.
I haven't waxed her using my Collinite yet. Might do it sometime later if I get the time.

No pictures of my car or the clay bar (it did get very dirty). Will post a couple of pictures later.

Vipin

A couple of pictures of Princess after she was washed and clayed. She actually shines better now. A coat of Collinite will definitely help but I need to get rid of some stubborn tar spots before applying Collinite 845.
One picture shows the swirl marks on her. Planning on doing a proper paint correction later when I have the time.

Vipin

Vipin-VW has introduced airbags and ABS for Polo CL and TL versions.
And airbags in the TL model as well. I think it was because of the recent testing of Indian cars in which the airbag equipped Polo came out with a decent score whereas the one without the airbags failed the test!!! That probably opened the eyes of VW and they decided to go the Honda way (the previous gen ANHC had 2 airbags and ABS in all their variants, including the Corporate edition unlike the new ANHC which doesn't have 2 airbags in their base variant).
