Princess meets with a slight accident
Today morning, I was late to leave from home and since the route to my college is a one way with heavy traffic, I was pushing for time.
As I was overtaking one of the zillion bikes that were in front of me, a KSRTC bus zooms in from the opposite lane and onto my lane. I had to take evasive action and zoomed towards the end of my lane and unluckily for me, there was a biker (who was carrying his wife as pillion) who saw the bus and slowed down. And I went and hit his silencer. Luckily, nothing happened to him (it was not his fault). And he turned out to be a very nice guy because, even though his silencer was scratched (it was a new bike) and even though my bumper had taken a slight beating, when I offered to pay him to get the silencer repainted, he refused outright and said not to worry and to be careful the next time. All faith in humanity is not lost, after all.
The lower part of the bumper has a dent and is slightly dislocated. There is also a line caused by his bike's grab handle which will go away by applying rubbing compound.
I gave Princess to the person who worked on her the last time. He said it was a small job and could be corrected easily. As she is at the workshop anyway, I asked him to paint my wheelcaps a gun metal colour but since he didn't have the correct paint card with him, I asked him to paint it metallic grey. Let's see how it turns out. If I don't like it, I can always go back to getting it painted gun metal or dark grey.
