And airbags in the TL model as well. I think it was because of the recent testing of Indian cars in which the airbag equipped Polo came out with a decent score whereas the one without the airbags failed the test!!! That probably opened the eyes of VW and they decided to go the Honda way (the previous gen ANHC had 2 airbags and ABS in all their variants, including the Corporate edition unlike the new ANHC which doesn't have 2 airbags in their base variant).

Yes.I read about this.BTW,VW is planning to launch 1.5 TDi for Polo. One would be regular 89HP would replace 1.2 TDi and 105HP would replace 1.6 TDi.

Princess meets with a slight accident

Today morning, I was late to leave from home and since the route to my college is a one way with heavy traffic, I was pushing for time.
As I was overtaking one of the zillion bikes that were in front of me, a KSRTC bus zooms in from the opposite lane and onto my lane. I had to take evasive action and zoomed towards the end of my lane and unluckily for me, there was a biker (who was carrying his wife as pillion) who saw the bus and slowed down. And I went and hit his silencer. Luckily, nothing happened to him (it was not his fault). And he turned out to be a very nice guy because, even though his silencer was scratched (it was a new bike) and even though my bumper had taken a slight beating, when I offered to pay him to get the silencer repainted, he refused outright and said not to worry and to be careful the next time. All faith in humanity is not lost, after all.
The lower part of the bumper has a dent and is slightly dislocated. There is also a line caused by his bike's grab handle which will go away by applying rubbing compound.
I gave Princess to the person who worked on her the last time. He said it was a small job and could be corrected easily. As she is at the workshop anyway, I asked him to paint my wheelcaps a gun metal colour but since he didn't have the correct paint card with him, I asked him to paint it metallic grey. Let's see how it turns out. If I don't like it, I can always go back to getting it painted gun metal or dark grey.

Regards,
Vipin

Sorry to hear about the little accident Vipin. Good to know that the rider and pillion were safe and great gesture from the man too as well. [clap] I hope your Princess is spot free again after coming back from the garage. And waiting to see how the painted wheel caps look like.

I know mate. Like I said, all hope in humanity is not lost [clap] And yes
I don't know the outcome of painting the wheel caps grey. I'm waiting, just like you. I was hoping for a dark gun-metal colour but since I was running short of time (it was almost closing time by the time I took the car to the garage) and they didn't have the color chart to match, I chose a metallic grey colour like on the Swift.
Will put up pics tomorrow.

I am not upgrading the tyres and steel rims to alloys at the moment due to lack of Vit M. I will, in due course of time. At the moment, I thought I'd content myself with painted wheel caps [:D]
No use in going for alloys without 5-hole 100 PCD for the simpe reason that it won't fit our cars.

Also posting a couple of pics of the facelifted Polo. The interiors look the same as the current one. I like the front bumper and new headlamps. The rear looks similar to the previous car and has added reflectors on the bumper (I have reflective tape in the same shape) [:D]

I also thought to post new Polo pics. But,you had made it finally.I liked the new one a lot.I guess 1.5 TDI will be punchier than your 1.2 TDI[:D]Im also looking for good looking alloys for Vento if budget allows. As of now planning to get the tyres changed and denting and painting work. After all things gets fixed, will think whether I should get new alloys or paint it to gunmetal colour or black colour.

Princess came back from the hospital yesterday

I got Princess back yesterday. And I must say, they have done an excellent job as usual. The owner said there was no need to paint the bumper as no paint was lost and all he did was level it. Looks as good as new and no one would know that it had met with an accident a couple of days back. Plus I got the wheel caps painted gunmetal colour and I've put the alloys on hold. [:D] I love the new wheelcaps. It has made me fall in love all over again.

The colour of the wheelcaps look slightly different because I took it in the parking lot. Will take better pictures tomorrow and put them up.

Wow!Polo looks amazing with painted alloys Vipin.Post some full pics of the car with her new look. After seeing this,I'm thinking whether I should get alloys or paint the alloys for Vento.Instead of spending Rs.20-25K on new alloys, getting the alloys painted in our choice of colour for just Rs.4000-5000 makes sense.BTW,how much did you pay for it?BTW,finish is excellent. And,change the tyres of your Polo. The tread got worn out.

He he. Look carefully mate. They are not alloys but the stock wheel caps itself. Looks really good in the gun metal colour. I've been thinking of painting the Vento's alloys in the same colour too but I don't know whether it will look good because the Vento itself is pepper grey colored. I am thinking of getting it painted gloss black.
I don't know how much the painting of the wheel caps cost because I did the bumper repair work along with it. Total came to Rs. 1400. The finish on the wheel caps is excellent.
And yes. Will be changing the tyres soon. The tyres are going bald. Maybe next month.

I know mate. Unluckily for me, my accidents weren't due to my fault except for the one with the biker which again was due to the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation bus (KSRTC has some really bad drivers but I guess all transport bus drivers from all states are the same). Luckily for me, it only costed Rs. 200 to pop the dent (the remaining Rs. 1200 was for painting the wheelcaps).
I will post full pictures of my car but she desperately need a wash first. [:)]

Yes bro, I want to. My alloy got scratched and I am planning to repaint it in graphite grey. Did they repair the scratches? Or else I am planning to paint it in stock alloy color. Does repainting only one alloy makes sense? Will there be any color changes with the rest of the 3 alloy wheels?
