Re: The ‘Urbano Bestia’. My Ford Ecosport 1.5 TDCI Titanium!

bro how much millage you are getting at present?
I tested mine with The full tank method and the result was awesome. it was 21.8. city driving with always AC on and I also keep vehicle in idle for AC as my city famous for HOT and DUST with WORST roads. total idle maybe about 30-45min in past 10days.

In my case its necessary to hold the clutch and accelerate to gain pickup in traffic, road humps and in ghat section as my family members are heavy except me(55kg) rest all are almost 80+kg [lol].

smokey smell made me to worry. I read about this issue on other forum and found that its common thing in engine break in period. am not sure.

21.8kmpl and in city conditions is phenomenal mileage brother! Mine is returning around 17 to 18 mixed. I did try to find if there is any burning smell in 2nd gear, but didn't find anything as such. Hopefully its not a major concern.

Btw, I am going for a long tour with my ES after Dushera, probably around 19th of October to Gujarat, pretty much excited. Will start a travelogue soon on this!

20 and 21 kmpl mileage. That's great mileage. For me in Bangalore I am getting 14 - 15.

I too second that I not getting more than 15-16 kmpl in Bangalore traffic without AC. That's really phenomenal, long back in Gurgaon I met a Honda Splendor owner who used to get 90 kmpl within city, I thought that was unbelievable, but your 21+ kmpl in city beats everything else.

My younger brother's Diesel Swift gives 22 kmpl on highway.

I am speechless now.

Re: The ‘Urbano Bestia’. My Ford Ecosport 1.5 TDCI Titanium!

Update: Spoke to the dealer regarding sunfilms. He was pretty confident that the sunfilms are legal, but upon pressing him to really verify the case, he says its Illegal! While installing them he was confident and said its legal.
I have asked him to remove them right away and refund the amount and to which he has agreed! Thank you ManojDungat and other members who pointed this.

Also, I found a guy who does DRL fitment into headlamps and installs the projector setup. This entire installation will be done Socket to socket without tampering any wires in the electrical circuit. I found this info from forum ********.com
The DRL's turns as indicator as well and turns orange , the same as Audi A8 and Porsche. Quite neat. I am pretty much excited to go for these, but the cost is a whopping 38k for the DRL and projector setup for the pair of headlights and does take around 8 to 10 days for the entire thing..
Anyone has any suggestions / alternatives , please do. This setup is done in Vishakaptanam/vijag, so fellow TAI'ns from this city can you please confirm the costs and if anyone else does the same job for a reasonable price?
Some pics of the setup. Loved it!

You got these off ******** ? I was also thinking of contacting that person to get a quote but 38k is very expensive for the setup!

Does he do only the DRL's ? I'm more interested in getting them alone than to go for an entire setup, as the projectors used may not be so good. I hope in the future many alternatives hit the market.

I haven't got them off, but when I mentioned the name of the forum, it automatically put ****** instead of the forum name, TAI has been configured that way and not to mention other forum names. probably!

When I inquired he just said that they have the entire package of DRL and projectors/demon eyes with HID's etc... I did not inquire specifically for the DRL's alone, but I think it must be do-able. I can share his contact number here. He is Mr.Srinivas Gopal 09849314812 with whom I spoke with yesterday. You can contact him and see if he only provides DRL setup with stock bulbs. If yes then please do update me as well as i am not that interested in projectors. But he mentioned that the projectors are of extremely good quality and the out put will not hamper oncoming traffic as well as improves the illumination by 200 to 250% compared to stock lighting!

Re: The ‘Urbano Bestia’. My Ford Ecosport 1.5 TDCI Titanium!

Guys, came across this product on aliexpress.
Dual color flexbile universal led drl / flexible drl//600mm length LED daytime running light/600mm auto headlight strip-in Daytime Running Lights from Automobiles & Motorcycles on Aliexpress.com

Those who are only looking for DRL's this is the best option to go for as these can be installed in the headlamps where there is a groove for DRL strip. Can be a DIY job with basic understanding.
I am ordering these and will also order some Bixenon projectors. Everything is plug n play, no temparing of wires, so no worry of warranty getting void.[clap]

I found the same link on another forum. I think this is an excellent alternative! In the previous post I forgot to add "pics" to my post. It should have read "You got these pics off ****"

I'm curious to know how you will wire these DRLs since they have to remain on when the engine is running and they double-up as indicators too. All this needs to be done without cutting any wires. Good idea to go for projectors+DRL's all at once. You open and reseal the HL only once this way. Looking forward to your mods, hopefully will replicate the same on my car too when it comes. I'd compiled a projector order for my Polo and it was coming to 15k with shipping, let me see how much you get the projectors+DRL for.

''This below one also from aliexpress seems to be in good price

3.0'' H1 H7 9005 9006 Bi Xenon projector lens headlight with double CCFL angel eyes-in Lights & Indicators from Automobiles & Motorcycles on Aliexpress.com''

@MSn1: the above projector lenses are not applicable for H4 type bulbs, here's one for H4:

Yes these are the best alternative to the OEM DRL which Ford is providing for all the export spec Ecosport's.
I am going to take this cautiously as I don't want to do a rush job with this. I will have to find an expert in this area and consult him before I place my order. Will keep you all updated.

Btw, I just got my Illuminated scuff plates and interior ambient lights which were ordered while booking the car. God bless Ford for the long delays even with the accessories[frustration]

Re: The ‘Urbano Bestia’. My Ford Ecosport 1.5 TDCI Titanium!

The sunfilm installed is approved by RTO as well as Ford motor company. No cops in any states can ban this. That is why Garware is providing a small sticker to be pasted on the front windshield. You CAN install this sunfilm without any worry[:)] See pic below.

@Frisson: Thank you for your wishes. The Ecosport is indeed an Excellent, feature loaded car. To be honest, it rattles when I place my sunglasses in the sunglass holder and its quite disturbing because the entire cabin is quite silent. Apart from this when I ride over some rough patch, the rear parcel tray does rattle a bit but its not worrisome[:)]
This vehicle is a TANK. I will rate the quality 9/10, its heavily built. You can imagine it weighs roughly around 80 to 100kgs more than the Renault duster which is again one size big car than Ecosport!
Might be late. But just wanted to update you that sunfilms on any kind is now banned. Rule 100 is over ruled by the SC verdict. This rule was applicable earlier allowing 70% visibilty on windshields and 50% for the side windows. But this is no longer applicable. So take care. If you get caught driving with these in states like Kerala you will be severely fined.

Jude300: You are right. The dealer has removed them and has also settled down for the refund as I had clearly instructed him no to install if they are illegal.
