TATA ZEST is a good alround package in CS segment deffinately good alternative choice beside Dzire but i personally feel that TATA should bring Full Sized Sedan version ZEST(alla TATA MANZA) name it as TATA ZEST plus or ZEST suffix name(Zest with bigger boot) this may helps to grab some sales figure from C segment Sedans deffinately i guess [;)]
No big names please. Please reserve Zest for Zest. Let it be Manza itself. It has gathered quite a good name[:)]

Honda Amaze 19 11.24%

TAI-gers really know the difference between the products and the hard work in building them!!! good to see that Tata Zest leading by a considerable number.

Compact Sedan's sales in October:

MARUTI SWIFT Dzire: 17950 units (Dzire Tour + Swift Dzire)

Hyundai Xcent: 4629 units

TATA ZEST: 3524 units

Honda Amaze: 3482 Units

its seems that Honda Amaze started loosing its market share due to its price and TATA ZEST showing good numbers month by month change hyundai Xcent is trying to protect his position and Finally Maruti Dzire still in number position but we need to know that how many units sold Old Dzire tour and Swift Dzire?

Those figures are not the actual sales figures, but they are dispatches to dealers across country. I saw many Xcent's last month on road then Dzire, Zest. But the numbers dont show that Xcent has sold in higher numbers. Every cars in this segment are good in each departments. Amaze scores in Engines & Space, Zest scores in VFM & Features, Xcent has good Quality &Equipment, Dzire has good Resale & Excellent after sales service.

Absolutely. And they should do it quickly. It should have a refreshed look but much different compared to the ZEST and adding much more features than the current offering.


They can still retain the old model for the taxi segment with the CR4 with or without some turbo effect to extract 90 bhp. Similarly they should scrap the eV2 but Vista should be kept alive with TDi and CR4 engines to keep price on tab.

If Zest had >10K orders whats with the sale numbers? Are they slow to deliver?
Hope the Zest gets up to more than 3-4000 / month!
Hope even more that the Bolt does even better-not so sure..

Ya Tatas are always little slow in delivering. They should master this skill. But anyways I guess the 3xxx mark is averaged out on a monthly basis... and 10000 is the total bookings they got in 3 weeks.

Hoping Zest to do better, don't know am inclined towards Tata but feel they/Zest deserve it :)

Done First little highway trip with my XMA, my earlier issues reported in forum still stand the same.
But badly feel missing XT features and mileage as i could see from trip meter only 18+ for my trip from Bangalore- Coimbatore where i expected atleast 20+, yes i understand i must wait for some time, but thought to share my concern with you all. Not even sports mode used.

Also feel missing foot well light and boot light along with rear seat light and arm rest. Please let me know guys if any accessories shop you recommend with Coimbatore/Tirupur for lights as i am currently there nearby for a week without breaking any warranty.

I voted for amaze because of its sheer power. 100bhp is something which is better than laggy perfomance of other cars in the group. Keep aside interiors and gadgets coz no other car manufacturers can match hyundai in this aspect, while comparing power output and real time performance, its definitely amaze that will outperform any other cars in this segment. But then again said, even amaze has its own lows with crappy interiors and noisy engine. Intresting to see how ford is going to place its compact sedan in this highly competitive segment. If its coming with same 70bhp diesel engine, well thats a big no.

Well no offense brother but if you drive all of the above cars back to back you won't feel a noticeable difference in power. And if you compare the interiors I think xcent is marginally better than of tatas.

Well bro, i personally felt Amaze to be quick and punchy when compared to xcent or dzire. Even ride quality was good. Its amaze interiors that lets it look less appealing than others. Have not yet TD Tata zest. Looking forward to it.

Many factors influenced this particular sales picture.
As per the online video reviews that i have seen, interiors of zest is better and offers more features than Amaze.
Another reason is that amaze is getting a facelift version soon. So people who are interested in buying it might be holding back for a while.

Took the TD of zest a week back. Buzz blue xt diesel manual variant and also XMA the automatic variant. Also experienced the Harman ICE which is simply superb among the cars in the segment and even a segment above it. Ride quality s amazing. Now expect zest sales to rise further and increase the gap compared to Amaze, part due to dull basic interiors and rest attitude of honda SA's
