We need to know how many Dzire tours sold among 19129 as cabs. Nowadays one can see many dzire tour cabs on road
While the initial 10k orders for the zest are good future sales will be based less on marketting and more on word of moutb. Hope After sales and sales itself at TML are ready.. common Tata slow but steady is far better than..
My brief review from a test drive of the XMA variant Zest yesterday with Guhan and Stingray 91:
The AMT is a bit sluggish to respond in urgent, stop-go traffic, but is much better in relaxed cruising or less traffic.
The convenience is a big plus. The normal A mode shifts up at 2000rpm and the Sport mode shifts up at a higher 3200rpm, allowing more punch.
The shifting of gears can be easily felt, although not much intrusive.
The XMA variant gets a manual AC and a lower spec audio system of Harmann itself. Although tweeters are absent in this lower spec, the quality is fantastic. Phone controls and AC touch controls are not provided in this spec.
The manual AC is terrific and cooled real fast and very cold even in lowest blower speed.
Braking and ABS works good, but there is a bit of vibration in the brake pedal of the AMT variant only (no vibration in manual car); even during normal braking situations. Looks like the Test Drive car needed a check up.
The test car we drove also had a programming error in the AMT: If the gear had been changed to reverse or neutral and then again shifted to "A" mode, the gear was still in neutral and the car wouldn't move. The car had to be switched off completely and then restarted again for getting it correctly slotted to 1st gear in "A" mode.
Hope such programming issues are corrected and debugged in delivery models.
Overall: A great package from Tata motors. Please correct all such issues TATA Motors. This would make a perfect winning car.
Also saw a dealer level customized XMS (safety spec) variant of the Zest in the showroom. Looks hot! Body kits and stickering by dealer level. Body kits cost 28,000 rupees. Good quality kits though. I liked the upholstery of the showroom car. Obvious differences between top-end XT and lower variants are a lower spec Harmann Audio system with 4 speakers and manual AC.

Voted for TATA Zest. However, Tata needs to address the waiting period. It seems they were not sure that Zest will be such a big hit ![[frustration]](https://www.theautomotiveindia.com/forums/images/smilies/Frustration.gif "Frustration [frustration]")
. Nevertheless, important thing for the TML is that they have a winner in their hands. Common Tata...It's high time to start capitalizing on the demand.

Yes, Tata Zest is impressive as a package and is right up there at the top of its class.
