Harish, it will be better to pay that 8k for the gold AMC. Tata owners here are completely supporting the AMC plan as it will give you peace of mind. I think you can opt for it within 90 days of purchase.

That's pretty good FE in city conditions. Is it with AC or without?
Its with 100% AC. I never turns it off.
Total FE is slowly coming down as now i'm doing more of city drive.
its around 15.2 now. As it is steadily reducing, I guess the City drive should be giving below 14.
Will check it out once again and update.

yup, I also felt so. But I was doubtful of what could go wrong in first 3 years. [confused]
Other than the lubricants I dont remember changing anything for my previous car.
Any1 have any experience to share where Gold AMC was fruitful?

Sir, how much you are getting from your Honda City, both in city and highway.
HI Cherry,
I am too young to be called Sir [embarass]
City- Home to office is 33km one side which includes lot of bumper of bumper traffic comprising a time of 1.30 hours at least. I get 15-16kmpl in that and AC is always on.

On Highway i have done only one trip of 200 km till now in which i managed 23-24kmpl.

I am a spirited driver and a more sedate one can get at least 2-3kmpl than me.

Harish, Welcome to TAI and Congrats on your Zest.

How much did you clock on your car so far? 15 KMPL seems to be pretty low on QJD. Maybe it increases after you are done 10000 km / oil change. For the record my Manza gives an FE of 16-17 kmpl in Bangalore with AC.

Sir, I have read you ownership review of Honda City on other website and have regularly followed your posts and threads. Right now very confused about buying my first new car (earlier driven old Cielo, 800 and Santro) between Honda City, Maruti Ciaz and TATA Zest.

Ciaz ticks all the boxes and City to some extent but are bit overpriced for my budget.

Zest is also very good car and Diesel XT model is in my budget minus the space I will pay for in Ciaz and City. Just somewhat apprehensive of TATA ASS and brand[confused].

I do not know whether you have a separate thread for the car buying.

Ciaz is good choice if you have the budget, you cannot go wrong with Maruti.
On other hand Zest is true VFM. Recent Tata cars have been nearly niggle free. You can go for Zest too.

Another thing is on going trend of Petrol vs Diesel prices think over the variant as now a days buying petrol car is more justified

If u buy zest u will get airbegs and abs. If even after expending around 8 laks u buy a car which can not save ur life than its useless. Ur life is more imp then any brand. These featurs are essential in any westrn counties. In India only tata is giving these feature in their mid varient. We should appreciate their initiative.

Yes, For now its giving around 15.6 on avg after running for around 1900 KMS.
The catch is my city drive is limited to less than 2-3 KMs in a stretch and Never I get a chance to put the 3rd gear, Thanks to the "good roads" inside Electronic city[angry]
So before the engine starts giving its real performance I reach my destination.
On Highways where I'm easily getting 18+
First service is at 3000 KMS. Hope things will get better

I drive from South Bangalore to ITPL some times cross Silkboard, hope I dont need to explain you anything more.
FE will definitely increase after 1st Oil change. Go for full synthetic 0W40 grade oil.

But that route lets your engine warm up to its peak performance as its more than 30 KMS.
Also In between signals you get a chance to go in at least 4th gear at times.
All that is not applicable in my driving conditions.

When I drove to Bellandur and back, It gave me 17 around.

@harish which dealer u purchased ur zest from. I'm doing it thru Concorde dairy circle zest xt blue qjd.
Same here. Concorde dairy circle.
Advise to both of you, get the services done from Concorde Silk Board. They are a small outlet but gives attention to detail. You can stand near the car and get it serviced at your own pace.

How long does these guys take to complete service procedures?
With Maruthi, I just give a call, they come and pick up my car and give it back by evening.

Regarding synthetic oil:
Are you sure about using it at this stage?
I read somewhere that it slows down the running in process, which will continue till 10k kms.
Any gurus have any comments on this topic?
