Re: Tata X451 Micro SUV To Rival Maruti Suzuki Ignis

I guess you're looking at gaddambhargavareddy's display pic ! Just kidding .

Front looks Tiago ish with larger lamps , which is not to my tastes , anyway waiting for the AutoExpo to get clear pictures . I don't think they will disappoint us after seeing the fresh cues on Tiago,Hexa,Tigor to Nexon :D !
Actually other than Hexa to an extent, all are too much like Indica
I understand making your cars look similar but imho Tiago should have been the only car with the Indica resemblance since it was the replacement for it

Hexa is a handsome looking car in comparison to all other Tatas
Also the Tata logo on steering wheel is too large in current lineup and looks ugly imho
They should reduce the size
Probably add a flat bottom steering wheel like VW's abroad and a stonker of an engine, like Nexon's 1.2 Turbo in a hatch
That would really do wonders for Tata's image
Polo GT TSI is proof of such concepts working but its too costly and has poor legroom etc
Im sure Tata can bring in a competitor for much cheaper

Im a skeptic when it comes to Tata as such but such moves would really make such a car desireable for a millenial like me

I am considering hot hatch or compact SUV as my next car as it is
Though I wouldnt want to be an owner of initial batches of any of the upcoming cars regardless of brand , probably 1-2 years down the line

The "hot hatch" segment is now compromises on some front or another
Best cars with poor engine options and stuff

And then they will go into hibernation mode and then rivals will copy paste USPs on their model sell more cars.

Definitely i can Saw that TATA using more advanced technology then its revivals

best exams best in class sound output Harman Audio

‘Passive Entry Passive Start’ system(smart key, engine push start) from German-based mechatronics component supplier, Marquardt who also supplier for Lexury brands like BMW, Benz and Jaguar Land Rover. remember wearable key fob in Nexon.

Multi-Driving modes.

Every car offers such features these days other than stock Harman Audio which can be easily done on any car with even better headunits than the Harman headunits on Tata cars which have poor screen resolution, touch response and features

Passive entry, passive start is also present in cars like Grand i10

As for wearable key fob etc in Nexon, funny thing is the people facing issues with the system when they lock with one key and cant open with the spare or the car opens but refuses to start because of engine lock feature

Im not supporting or putting down any brand but honestly no one is doing anything different these days

According to your thinking, what should qualify as a true innovation for TML? Keeping the inclusion of Harman ICE aside, what in true sense can be termed as a Eureka for TML in terms of innovation? And so far in which car of TML have you seen a copied design element from other India specific brand?

Shouldnt you be the one answering these questions? Im not the one rallying for TML all the time
I say it as I see it
What "innovation" has Tata got?

Since you pointed that TML might copy the elements (features, technology et al) from other mass market car brands existing in India as they haven't made any "innovation" so far hence, you'll be the best man to tell as to what can actually qualify as a true innovation for TML.

Except Im not the one glorifying a brand all the time like a blind fanboy
So you can list why you think Tata is soo innovative

At least the others supporting Tata here provide some logic/base/proof, you just want to argue and push your own opinion

Well I do have my own set of opinions and my definition of being innovative and that of an innovation might not suit the thought process of a few. Nevertheless, the upcoming X451, definitely won't be anything lower in terms of what we have seen from TML in the recent years. Having competitors like I20 & Baleno, I am sure the X451 would not be disappointing in terms of a package and seeing the pricing pattern of TML cars in recent past, I think like the Nexon & Tigor, even this one would be a pleasant surprise.

That doesnt answer the question but lets drop the topic
Leaks suggest it looks like a proper i20 rival, lets hope this time they give it good engines instead of the boring Tiago ones

Though not exactly an innovation, I think we can consider the multiple power maps, for an engine (City, Eco, Sport) as a segment first by Tata. Also, they should be given credit for bringing in a Diesel automatic (AMT), when all other options were petrol torque converters. I agree, the power maps are not that useful, and people end up using the high maps most of the time but AMT on a diesel was a daring move, especially with a company which had major sales only in the taxi segment where ATs are not preferred.
Most of the things we get in India would merely be features we were not offered earlier, but to be the first in the market to offer a feature is also quite a big deal.

Also, we should not belittle the feat Nano was to be launched at the price. To get a vehicle out at the price, though not on the vehicle level, a lot of innovation would have to be done in terms of cost cutting and to improve the manufacturing process.

Well said !! I consider this a fair enough answer to my arguement !! I cant help but agree here ! [clap]
I must admit Zest was a good car for its seating positon and first in segment diesel AMT
