Guys, now with diesel costing closer to Rs 50 per liter, which means now going for a diesel car is still beneficial but not as much as it was before.

So what is the take of various truck and tractor...err...diesel drivers on this?[:D]

Actually it's a known fact that half of the love for diesels is due to pocket and hence I am sure at least 5-10% of love will shift towards the REAL FUEL FOR CARS AND BIKES!!

I want the smoothness and instant response of a Petrol. No turbo lag for me. I expect the Diesel - Petrol gap to narrow, though given our agrarian economy it will never be near zero. Also, considering I do under 10,000km on each of my cars the maintenance cost of a petrol is far lower.

Now I feel Vipul is back bashing at all diesel torque lovers and not high revving petrol car lovers.

It is still diesel for me. [:D].

Your question may look correct, but the post looks bit very harsh on diesel car owners as the reasons told by you are not 100% correct. Be bit gentle while calling diesel drivers.

There is still Rs.25/- difference and their is a charm driving a diesel vehicle buddy[:)]!![:)]

For diesel car owners like u & me, increase of 5 Rs will not matter much as running diesel heart will continue to be cheaper then petrol.
But because of this increase, some new potential buyers might opt for petrol now. [:)]

It won't affect the prospective buyers either. 5 bucks is nothing when you are talking in respect of today's petrol prices and efficiency of diesel cars along with new tech. giving nightmares to petrol engines in every(performance included) aspect.

Few days back also i was having Petrol Swift but now having Diesel Fiesta and for me driving diesel car is pleasure.Diesel prices were last hiked by Rs 3.37 per litre in June 2011 and then after in Sep.2012 but in case of petrol, price is almost mountaineering every month so we realy dont know the future of petrol cars. I m not an automobile engineer so dont know the technicality of it but what i know is diesel car is more pocket friendly with respect to petrol cars.[:D]

^^Well after reading everyone,my question is simple and easy to answer..

Except the running costs, what are the other factors which make you tilted towards a tractor engine fitted car(like mine[:D])????

^^See buddy,I am not starting the story from beginning, instead I am just highlighting the point that except the fuel prices, the diesel vehicles don' really have any such special advantage which would make them the kings.

Example:Take the market of UK where diesel costs higher..
