WoW man. You always bag up some sweet deals. Living in Pune helps eh?

The shield thing only covers Critical system and electronics failure. RSA is the Toll free/ Road assistance if your vehicle breaks down on a trip. I ended up paying for both as it made sense that way.

Getting insurance with RSA @24k was just pure luck. Future Generalli called and offered the deal, otherwise the other zero dep companies were asking for 28k.

Optimus running without any issues for now.

had a small mishap with the Hellas left ON for a couple of days which drained the battery have gotten it recharged and is going strong for now.

Completed close to 44000kms now. the average in the city has also gone up to 14.7kmpl in the last couple of fills with partial AC.

So today morning, Optimus had a fight with one of the parking pillars, both remain standing as of now the match was a draw, however Optimus suffered some battle wounds in the process. Attaching a pic of the same, its on the passenger side front. Any ideas or help to get them treated will be highly appreciated from the Alien overlord.

I was thinking of carbon fibring all the 4 wheel arches or using some spray paint?

Has anybody used Com-paint for such kind of scratches? their videos show only minor scratch repairs.

Kinshuk

this is sad. my heart skipped a beat.

I suggest you approach 3m and ask if their professional detailing can cover the marks. no use claiming Insurance as you'll loose ncb for a small damage.

Sorry for my delayed revert Kinshuk, i was travelling. These look like scratches through the clear coat, rubbing will reduce the gore but cannot fully eliminate. My suggestion rub it first using a good rubbing compound and then make the next call.
You can do a minor touch up job for now using a brush (find the color code and buy minimal quantity) - You can do a detailed job combining with some others jobs of the future - this one is too minor to warrant a paint job.

Thanks guys, As of now I have cleaned the scratches and applied the Duratech Total Performance Polish that seem to have reduced the visibility of the scratcehs to a large amount, thinking of just replacing the plastic cladding as its brackets have broken, after that will again check if the scratches are an eye sore or not.

There is no brand and no paint no.Local painter stocks automotive paint. All he asks is vehicle name and colour. After mixing and matching with the diesel cap innerside painted area, you are ready to go.I did similar touchups couple of times with my white ritz and pearl white swift too.http://www.theautomotiveindia.com/f...g-xuv500-w8-initial-ownership-review-0008.jpg

Completed an 1800km trip in the past 4 days, Optimus performend flawlessy

I however found out that my front screen washer had stopped working a day before the start. so couldnt get the vehicle to the service center to get it rectified, will take it now for servicing and get the washer corrected as well.

Optimus has completed more than 48000km as of now, observations till now.

Very happy with the vehicle and if the NGT doesnt force their ban Optimus will survive with me for more than 15 years.

After 48000km Optimus feels a bit more wobbly than when it first arrived, any other solutions like Ohlins for upgrade or better ride and feel?

Hey guys,

Does anybody know which is the fuse for the 12V lighter socket in XUV? None of the 3 sockets seem to be working in Optimus.

Kinshuk
