in trend variant warning buzzer is available only for headlight / parking light on without ignition.
Oh ok. This is info to me. I did not realize that there is a warning buzzer for headlight / parking light on without ignition. However i did notice there is a warning buzzer on for handbrakes if they are not released,

Hi Venkat/DJD/Vicky,

My car will be arriving in Calcutta tomorrow. Its a Trend 1.5 Diesel Mars Red. I am taking the insurance online from Royal Sundaram where the premium is Rs 22000 Bumper to Bumper along with additional coverage for the rear wheel cover and fog laps. Hopefully I will get the delivery by mid next week.

I am moving from petrol to diesel. I see that you guys are achieving out of world mileages.. I need to know what is the proper gear changing speeds you guys are using. Like currently in my i10 , i do the below.
Gear Upto Km
1st gear 10km
2nd gear 20km
3rd gear 30km
4th gear 40 km
5th gear above 40km

in the above I get a lag..and I do not return a milage of more than 13.5 even on 80% highway and 20% city

But please mention how you guys are driving.
Hey anisin, great to know that you are getting it so soon.
For best performance as DJD says, maintain the rpm below 2000 rpm for sure.
For best economy maintain speed as per below or make gear shifts as per below intervals,
1 st gear - 0-24 kmph
2 nd gear - 24-34 kmph
3 rd gear - 34-44 kmph
4 th gear - 44-54 kmph
5 th gear - 54-74 kmph

Hi anisin,

Glad to know that you are getting your car by next week. One good thing in ecosport diesel is it's power delivery is almost linear and predictable. So you will not find any difficulty driving the ecosport diesel.

While shifting gear don't go by the vehicle speed. See the engine RPM. If you want good FE don't cross 2k RPM in ecosport diesel at the same time don't lug the engine. Try to keep the RPM in 1.3k - 2k range. Usually i am shifting in between 1.5 k - 2k RPM.

Also crossing the 2 K RPM during intial run In (at least initial 1600 KM) is a big no. See, in ecosport diesel you will get 90kmph @2k RPM in 5th gear. So limiting to 2K RPM will not be a issue i guess [:)]
Bingo, the same thing happens here at 2k rpm sharp 90 kmph.
But because of the dynamics and sound insulation, its very hard to control the urge [evil]

Agree with D.J.D completely. I went to Chennai on the second day after taking delivery and I always maintained a max rpm of 2000 and I was able to get 90kmph. I have not yet crossed the 2000 rpm limit so far. I am planning to follow this till the first service - 2500 km.

I have one more question. Is the seat belt warning working in the Trend variants? I always wear my seat belt so I did not notice this but I think it is not working for me.
Ya I have mentioned somewhere in the thread.
There is buzzer for lights glowing with ignition on. Not sure about hand brakes but surely not for seat belts in trend.

Giving my vehicle for 1 service tomorrow it has done 2650 kms till now. Tried my best to give it before 2500 kms but service engineer told till 2800kms its ok. So, taking permission from office and going tomorrow as they are on leave on Sunday to MPL Pallikaranai.
My dash with a small and fitting pendrive.

Thanks so much both DJD & Venkat...really appreciate it.

Not having a seatbelt is a news to me.. I always knew that there was no beep for that in trend but never expected the light will also not be there :P.

I just got the insurance today from Royal Sundaram for 21480 Bumper 2 Bumper

right vicky. keeping this car below 100 is very difficult .my car always tempts me to cross the 2k RPM barrier. but somehow i am managing to stay below 2k rpm [cry] i am eagerly waiting for the first service . after that i can push her beyond 2k rpm [evil]

BTW after the 1st service don't forget to update the service report [:)] i mean service quality, service cost etc.. are you going to change the engine oil & oil filter?

Yesterday got my vehicle after getting the first service done from
MPL pallikaranai . My advisor is Mr.Ramesh and he is very cooperative and helped me getting the car whenever it was possible for me as I had to skip my appointment twice.
The billing amount was Zero as this is essentially a check up service for fluid levels and other functioning and a good wash with interior polish.

I have taken a snap of spare parts costs of ES comparing it with other models of ford. Looks interesting I will share them today evening
