issue will not be changing the rear , but the wiring and giving a button to operate it at the drivers corner.
I casually enquired with the dealer today and he said it could be tricky to drill the holes into the rear glass for the wiper installation and that is "IF" and "whenever" this model lands in india. He opts to change the rear completely and he predicts the cost to be somewhere around 12-15k.

If they allow us to change the rear, its going to be like getting a new car only as the looks will completely change [clap]. much like changing the skin of your mobile

hope they offer this option to old buyers though i do not think they will do it.
lets keep our fingers crossed.

Hi guys,

#update-
Got this seat covers done for our Brio. Opted for Art. Leather covers. They cost us Rs 4.5k. Had planned for the beige and red colored seats as I didn't want to compromise on the airy feel of the cabin. Always felt the car smiled back a bit broader within the cabin if the cabin is bright enough. Thus we avoided the dark colored interiors. A couple of snaps follow

Wanted to get the LED day-light running lights installed too.
Budget tight and postponed to next month probably [lol]

Any suggestions and advice are welcome with open heart.

Ajay, how's your Brio doing on the bumps in Bangalore? Do you find the GC good enough for most Bangalore roads? Please share your experience. Thanks.

Hi rafian, The car hasn't scratched any bumpers yet. We generally travel 3 people. I had the same doubt but not now. GC is pretty good or should I say very good as the namma bangalore bumps and speed breakers are probably the worst in country. [anger]

But yeah have patience to shift gears and drive slow on the bumps. They won't scratch (maximum no.of times, unless its a really deep dug crater)[:)]

No buddy. I got the seat covers done near the place I reside. I guess the name was Star Car Decor. Found it a bit cheap in cost. Other people were charging 6k for the same material.

Will give e-bay a shot in couple of days time.

Anytime. You just have to keep us posted, no matter wherever you post them. You are always welcome to post your Brio pics here [:)]

Hi guys,

A small update. Had been to a pretty long highway drive and these were my observations with our Brio. The drive as usual was amazing. Had made up mind to keep in check of the mileage it returned.

Had a tank full with HP and it returned 19.1 kmpl (50% ac).
Had a tank full with Shell and it returned 22.3 kmpl(50% ac and it ended with an hour long drive in the city)

Have the pic of the shell stats but I lost the pic of HP stat on MID. Here it goes.

Ajay,

I've enjoyed reading through the thread and find your enthusiasm for Brio infectious :) I'm considering a VX MT too and need help in deciding if:

1. I should skip the dealer's teflon coating/anti-rust offer coming at Rs6557...supposedly with a 5-year warranty--read against another thread that the owner was happier with the anti-rust job done by 3M?

2. a White Brio would be high-maintenance as per your (and @Only's) view--my previous 2 cars (800 and Alto Lxi) were red and much as I'm tempted to stay with the glamorous Red, my teenage son would rather see a change of scene, and I find the White Brio's rear making a style statement too :)

3. the OTR quote of 5,78,643 is good enough to live with.
The break-up is: 5,38,000+20,140 (regn/tax)+6,250 (polishing/handling)+ 10,250 (RSA/extended warranty)+6,557 (anti rust/teflon)+2,446 (0% depreciation insurance plan as the basic annual insurance of 14,524 is free)-5000 cash discount.

4. the offered freebies of mudflaps, mats, gear lock are generous enough?

Appreciate help in thinking this through!

Hi Jyotib,

Thanks for your compliment and as the brio tagline in the voucher says it truely loves you back. And thats the reason for my "infectious" enthusiasm [;)]

1.Since you are from Gurgaon, I really feel there isn't any need for Anti-rust underbody coat. If you really want it, then I would probably prefer 3m car care services too.

2. The other colour(s) I would prefer after rally-red (obvious) are: Urban titanium and blue. In the same order. I was initially tempted to go with Urban-titanium

3.You seriously have got huge discounts I feel. Taxes here are [frustration]
I would feel you would be better if you could have alternate accessories for anti-rust.

4. When you are talking of freebies, there is no limit. Only way out is to bargain hard. I was very bad at it but Brio thought me to bargain upto an extent.[lol]
Its free anyway. The more you get the happy you will be. You could ask for corner bumper guards, they will be useful in a brio, apart from the basic kit that you will be getting ( Puntcure kit, car cover, divine idol).

Have a pleasant stay at TAI.

Thanks, Ajay. I suppose in Bangalore you're blessed with good weather so more effective airconditioning and much as chaotic as a city, Gurgaon offers some benefits like a lower road tax. I'll push for corner bumper guards. I'm thinking that I can't be too lucky and would have to buy:

. a tailgate spoiler
. rear cargo protector
. side door protector

Do you advise the above 3 or recommend any other essentials?

I'm also looking for views on the efficacy of a teflon coating and should start with you :)

Many thanks for these inputs.
