Thanks, Ajay. I suppose in Bangalore you're blessed with good weather so more effective airconditioning and much as chaotic as a city, Gurgaon offers some benefits like a lower road tax. I'll push for corner bumper guards. I'm thinking that I can't be too lucky and would have to buy:

. a tailgate spoiler
. rear cargo protector
. side door protector

Do you advise the above 3 or recommend any other essentials?

I'm also looking for views on the efficacy of a teflon coating and should start with you :)

Many thanks for these inputs.
I hardly use the A.C here within the city limits. It has nothing to do with weather here (weather is good here) but I generally prefer using A.C's only at high speeds on the highways.

Of the three options that you have given the rear cargo protector is a good choice for a simple reason that you will have to lift and drop your luggage in the case of brio rather than pushing them in. You may just peel off the skin when you end up dropping the luggage incorrectly. Cargo protector helps here.

Side door protectors are very much useful but I have postponed its purchase for now. Prefer being a bit careful for some days atleast[;)]

Spoilers are not really necessary unless you are really bothered about the look. I believe Brio is aero-dynamically good and shouldn't have problems at high speeds. Spoilers are designed only to change the flow of air over the rear of the vehicle at high speeds (speeds > 160kmph). So in my opinion You take it only incase you get it free from the dealer.

Teflon again not necessary. Better invest in some other accessories. Anti-rust coating should do the job. Teflon is not permanent. Better think of waxing the car every 6 months or so. Again teflon the car only if free

Congratulations for the new car ..! please do update your experiences after every service ..!
Hi,

I have got only the 1month service done and its more of a check up than a service. They just check the condition of the car after your running it in for a month or a 1000km and a general car wash. And you are done. I had paid 300 for pickup and drop service. Else it was free. 2nd service due in december

Much as I'd like to follow this, Gurgaon's 40+ deg temp conditions and dry, dusty wind through many days leave me no choice but keep the windows rolled up and the AC on :)

Appreciate your views on accessories and the prudence of a teflon coating. Will use this advice. thanks.

thats pretty neat, i got mine installed from jc road from car shrinagar at 800 bucks

what about u? how much did it cost u? ramu
I got this installed at Sanjay Nagar dude. RMV 2nd stage, just next to 3M car care. Dont remember the shop name exactly. There was a mad rush and on enquiry it came to my notice that it was a pretty good shop for basic car accessories. It cost me 700 buddy. Where did you get it installed ? I wanted a strip that would outline the "H" in the Honda badge at the front. But the shop person told me that strip is not durable so I had to change my mind. The DRL's were not sticking to steel too.

@rikku thakur

He did not cut any wires. He just added a new set of DRL's wire. So that will not play a part of effecting the warranty. I have got the seat covers done in the first month of purchase, car wash kit and the DRL's in the 2nd month [:)]

hehehe, yes

I should have bot the mercedez benz L shape DRL avail on ebay, but i guess it 2 late now :(

Ramu
In my view, I find it much more comfortable buying it directly from the shop. You can pay the delivery bucks (in case of online booking) to get the accessory fixed. You bargain a bit hard who knows you might end up with a considerable amount of profit. [;)]

It looks pretty good buddy. It generally comes around 11-12k. If you aren't happy with it,my suggestion would be to go with honda with third party insurance. Believe me they are good.My order will be:
Tata AIG
Bajaj Allianz
ICICI Lombard
