Just weeks away from launch, Maruti releases its fisr teaser on Ciaz with a “Cool Cat” driving it.

The image seen shows a cat driving the Ciaz, is part of the company’s marketing strategy to build interest in the car. Indian Autos Blog understands that the marketing initiative is called “Cool Cats In Town”, and going further, more such teasers will be released.

Alivio shows its interiors in China. Maruti Ciaz will be in similar lines. Seems to be 'best in class' interiors!

Ciaz Engines -
The Ciaz will be powered by a mixture of engines, some new, others updated.
The mainstay of the range will continue to be Fiat's 90bhp 1.3 Multijet engine. Known as the DDIS in Maruti terminology, the engine will be tuned to improve the delay in acceleration experience at low speed due to the turbo.
Maruti will also import a larger 1.6 diesel from Fiat for some of its other models sold in India like the S-cross. - Only available in ZDI
The Ciaz could, as a result, also get this larger and more powerful 118bhp engine which, like the 1.3, is also known to have a nice spike in power.
The Ciaz is also likely to get a more powerful 100-plus-bhp version (102?)of Suzuki's K14 petrol engine. This engine is assembled here and, as a result, is more affordable than the 1.6 that currently powers the SX4.

If this information is correct, i am sure Ciaz will post tough competition to Honda City. Earth dreams of city is no where in comparison to the 1.6 ltr MJD. I am excited with this news of better engine options in Ciaz.

The thing looks premium, especially the alloys. Can't believe it is placed in the C2 segment. I thought it would be placed in the D1 seg. Whatever, but it looks like a baby Kizashi. Good step MSIL[thumbsup] EDIT: So the inventor of the style is the one at loss. The Ciaz has copied tail-lamps from the City, the City used BMW-ed tail lamps. What did BMW get? A Babaji Ka Thullu. Usual MSIL strategy, not too surprised. And the front resembles...? The grille looks like an Audi-ised grille. Most of the cars are copied in such a way that they cannot be sued, and in such a way that people say "That looks like XYZ car!". But the car is good, I'll take it if it was priced at about ~8 l on road. Call me a daydreamer, but Maruti Suzuki India Limited is a VFM brand, and should stay that way to attract more customers. Thanks for tolerating this rant [evil].

Could have shades of the BMW-ish design . Please note the CIAZ design concept was released much before the pictures of City appeared. You can check for youresel in the net.
CIAZ has elements of Kizashi especially at the rear and interiors.

Slight more sharpness in design was required, it looks bulky and roundish. Had all the potential to look like Vento.
