Sensible thing. They just couldn't have been competing with AMT with the honda city. With importance given to rear seat comfort, I think this car would be a hit unlike the previous generation model.

Details of CIAZ.
The Ciaz on test here is the top-end variant as it sports features such as alloy wheels and engine starter button.
he Ciaz’s interiors come in a dual-tone black and beige color scheme.
Driver’s seat with controls for height adjustment. The Ciaz’s front seat passengers get an armrest, to which the rear AC vents are attached. The fabrics on the seats seem to be made from leather.

Maruti will most likely offer 205 section tires on 16-inch rims on the Ciaz. Its boot will be 565 Liters with best in class rear leg room , head room and will retian the ground clearence from Sx4. Ciaz top end varient ( ZXi & ZDi ) will come with option of Leather Seats & Leather wrapped steering wheel and door trims . Foot Rest at Clutch Pedal ant it will be Standard on all Variant .

Top Varient of upcoming Ciaz have some Premium features like Push start Button , Auto Dimming Rear View mirror , Tilt & Telescopic Steering Wheel .​

Ciaz will also Get 5" TFT Screen Single Cd-Changer Audio Player with Bluetooth & Aux-in & USB features.
For the Rear Legroom Space , Maruti has Already incresed the Lenth of Ciaz in comparison to SX 4 and also try some intelligent technique by using Front seat 25 mm inward Curve as showing below to increase rear leg Room also have Rear Ac vents for rear Passengers with atached arm Rest For Driver​

Looks very attractive but looking at the features and specs, I feel the price of the car will overshoot from the current SX4 pricing, may be it wont belong to the same segment anymore?

From whatever I could gather through different sources in Maruti, Ciaz will debut around festive season (October / November). They're using same old (but proven) strategy.

Since it is a Multijet engine-II, it has more injections per cycle and when coupled with a VGT turbo, it might have the performance of much bigger engines, say 1.5 idtec

Maruti Ciaz looks really promising..Big, well built.
And why on earth did Fiat givie out the 1.MJD (as rumored) to MSIL before even trying it in the Linea.

A little birdy tells us that commercial production of Maruti Suzuki Ciaz has commenced in Gurgaon. Launch is expected next month.
