I am just wondering neither dealer or nor maruti is asking me for ciaz booking so far..
Just waiting for call
As i am in dilemma.,i am also playing waiting game.
Wonder how much backlog maruti is runng on ciaz booking. and many of the booking might have cancelled meanwhile.
Need to look for jan sales figures.
Jan will give us stable feel of how ciaz will settle in numbers (may be 3000 +/- 500) unless some new sedan enters the markets and shakesup

With a kind of bookings each Maruti dealers get, it's very hard for them to call each and every customer and check thier status. I too faced similar thing when I purchased Swift back in 2007, I had to call dealer weekly to check about my car when there was huge demand for Diesel Swift in Early 2007. You might be in similar situation here.

I am too waiting for January sales figures to get a rough idea regarding sales of Ciaz. Today I was passing by a stockyard of a Maruti dealer and I saw just 2 Ciaz (Both Brown) and I was wondering why only 2 units. I do hope Maruti Ciaz is in good demand, if not its another flop product in 10 lakh space for Maruti.

One of my friend wanted Ciaz in either Automatic or Diesel Guise, he had to cancel the booking due to lack of co-operation and ended up purchasing Ford Fiesta in late November. Don't know how many people are cancelling the booking, Ciaz feels far better then SX4 and Baleno which were available in 7-10 lakh range which both unfortunately were flop despite being good products.

^ swift launch story is completely different and cant be compared with ciaz
Ciaz is a product up against which has competitor in the form of segment market leader Honda City and runner up Verna.
Ciaz is has good reasons to lookaway from it. Maruti instead of covering those loops with good marketing and good customer care, slipping it away. One of the best assets maruti has is its A.S.S network and time tested DDiS engine is under the hood for ciaz.

If someone to be blamed for Ciaz failure, its poor marketing and customer reception by maruti

diito for me.I have been exchanging mails with local MSIL manager for the updates on my Zdi+ and the tone they use is simply arrogant.First they said that it is going to be dispatched in a week. Now they are saying that it is being "launched" in a week. seriously thinking to cancel the booking if nothing comes up by next week or so.Moreover launch of Ertiga/S Cross- with 1.5/1.6 diesel unit & new verna is round the corner.I suppose its better to wait for another one month or two.

I have seen Two Ciaz onraod and followed a ciaz bumper to bumper for almost 5km is city traffic. Its driven by an aged person, he is almost bewildered by who is following me as I gave a him way and then started following.
I am following a Grey one. Zdi
From back the trunk looks very high positioned. Side profile couldnt be observed.
Front looks Ok. and Not an eye catcher.
Wow factor is not there. Ofcourse maruti not bulit this car for "wow" factor.
Good road presence. He actually maneuvered car well and car also behaved well i felt.
Honda city looked more stylish compared to ciaz.

Cancelled my booking of ZDI [frustration]

Sorry "Ciaz"..it was not meant to be.Your masters were too arrogant..[anger].
Feel extremely sorry for the incident, but you seem to got same fate as my friend, but there are better options in the market and get one of them and have a happy ownership. Maruti will never succeed in selling premium cars like they do for small cars. I am seeing this same kind of thing for upcoming S Cross which will suffer from its rivals (Ecosport & ix25).

I am not sure if this belongs here.
Mods..delete or move if you think so
I would like to share my whole feelings & experience involved in this.
My current car is Swift Vxi 2005.So you can say I am used to a bit attention from those days when I bought this beauty. I was always looking forward for a car with “relatively” “new face” and “Ciaz” fulfilled this aspect. Add on, I was extremely satisfied with my Swift: be it drivability, ownership experience etc.–can say typically “Indian mentality”.
So the launch of “Ciaz” literally lit my eyes. Variant of my choice was Zdi+. Though in my mind,I was always contemplating between Ciaz & Honda City and
Liked:
New Look=New car: I would be hero of my locality
GC of 170mm: Sufficient as my swift has similar GC & it has clocked almost 150000Kms without any major under scrapping.
Rim profile & tyres: 195X55R16-A boon. Was thinking to upsize 205X55R16
MSIL:ASS
Missed:
Cruise control
Engine response
Premium-ness
DDis 1.3 felt slightly underpowered with lag
In the end, my heart was favouring Ciaz Zdi+ -booked the same on Sept 06 2014 & hence began the wait game.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
My experience with MSIL Manager & local dealer started somewhere after the launch in Oct 2014, when I started to enquire about ZdI+ as no/limited information was available online.
Calls to regional office went unanswered so many times.
Whenever connected & explained my position to the reception guy!! –there was a big hold followed by “sir busy Hain-aap apna no. de do-wo call back kareinge”. No call back though.
Dealer guys were clueless after so many calls & mails. They even did not know difference between Z(o) and Z(+)…Hey Training manager @ MSIL-what are you doing boss?
Meanwhile took a TD of Vdi.Overall I was happy with the car.
Somehow managed to get name & email id of local MSIL Manager
1st few mails did not attract any attention.
Wrote a mail to central @contact us.
Got a mail back from local MSIL Manager-citing that Zdi+ is indeed a different model from Zdi(o), having a delivery period of 4-5 months.
Period
Started getting calls from dealer on Vdi/Vdi+, with a detailed explanation, that why it is not worth to spend so much money on Zdi+.
I found myself pushed.
At one point, as I was in dire need of a new car, I thought about Vdi+.Gave them green signal. But hey..Come on ,they started to push colour of their choice. I declined the same.
Though I was not impatient, I kept on writing the mails for the sole purpose of updating myself. But, to my surprise. There was no reply or the usual “ We acknowledge..we are working on this” types
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
I was always keeping local MSIL manager in cc during my mail exchanges with the dealer, but was surprised to see no intervention/ update from him.
Got a call from dealer that my order has been locked in & I can expect the car in next few days. I told my booking preference was “Glistering Grey”.They said okay. So far so good.
“Follow up” with dealer continues on phone.
“ Sir white Zdi+ has been received but no idea on price. It can take 6-7 more days.Sorry ,but we only ordered your colour but you know.. “Maruti is Maruti na”
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________Enough for me
I wrote a mail to local MSIL MANAGER(pun intended)for the same and he replied….full of typical arrogance of being “a market leader” kind.
I think it was the last nail.
So almost after 5 months… poor guy me is back to square one. HELP ME FRIENDS________________________________________________________________________________ ________________________
PS: during all this commotions –I have been offered ANHC 2014 of the shelf-Its V-Idech-pls advise.

You can close you're eyes and go for Honda City Diesel if you have liked it. There is no better car then it and the number of cars you see on road prove it. Otherwise you have it's rivals too.

Re: Maruti Suzuki's New Sedan: Ciaz Voted as Compact Sedan of the Year.

OMG i felt its fit for Sedan of the year but not compact sedan of the year
is it compact really
Well what can I say buddy, that's how Ciaz has been addressed on Maruti's official FB. Being C Segment car how can they make such a categorization is beyond my thinking![thinking]

Maruti had priced Z+ versions at 60k premium than the Z versions.

At Chennai the prices work out to be:

ZDi+: Rs.10,83,948/- (ZDi: Rs. 10,20,817/- )
VXi+: Rs. 8,20,868/- (Vxi: Rs: 7,62,332/-)

The difference seems to HU, 16" Alloy and Navigation. Also while browsing the feature observed that there is no Audio CD playing feature in Z+ version. Not sure it is a mistake in Maruti website
