Dear Ciaz owners, did you get the footwell lights in Zxi/ZDi versions?

In the brochure and website, it says that ZXi/ZDi and ZXi(O)/ZDi(O) versions have illuminated footwell lights, but in my ZXi(AT), I have got only storage compartment with Aux-in & USB sockets illuminated by a red light but neither side of footwells has any lights. I also tried menu options regarding footwell lights but it is not there.

Also, the car's rear AC vent air flow is pretty less, hardly feels if the AC is in auto mode, only when we increase fan speed, it is felt. What is the fraction of air flow in rear AC vent compared to front AC vents?

Another issue is when the car is started after 1-2 cold nights, the idling RPMs are >1500 for sometime and comes back to approx 750 after few minutes or when car is re-started. This does not happen when you have parked the car and re-start in daylight.

Friends, can you provide valuable feedback on these? I will talk to dealer/Maruti on these issues. It may help many others too. Thanks.

Hi buddy, I had reviewed Ciaz Zdi and footwell lights were there. You can check page 23 of this thread.

Is the vent open or closed? Try setting the vent properly open which will help in proper air flow. Also, there is bound to be difference of air flow from 2 vents and 1 single vent.

Nothing to be worried about dear. Happens with all cars in cold weather. RPM is bound to be high since engine is cold in the 1st crank of the morning. Later it normalizes as you said. Its a normal phenomena.

Analyse it this RPM issue this way, On a cold morning, the human body too shivers in cold but with sunlight the body becomes warm and shivering stops. Raise in the RPM's due to cold is car's way of shivering. So, just be calm.

I do not have footwell lights, though I have red light in storage compartment, I will talk to dealer about it.

The vent is kept open fully. The air flow at rear is about 10-20% of the front.

Thanks! I talked to service exec, he also said the same, according to him, it happens in all Maruti Cars. STRANGLY, never noticed this in 7-8 years of Indica Petrol run.[surprise]

For testing purpose try to run AC on full speed and then check the air flow.

Yes, to this date, till today morning, I cranked my Esteem, the RPM showed around 1400 and then within a minute reduced around 900.

I will be getting delivery of my Zdi+ in a week or so. Contemplating to change OEM 195x55R16 with Michelin 205X55R16. One of the aftermarket dealer has asked for 15K additional in exchange for 4 tyres.I am presuming from the posts above that OEM will be goodyears.
1.Is it a good choice?
2.Is it a good deal?
3.How much increase in GC can i expect..at least theoretically?
4.After 3 days of delivery, i am planing a road trip of 2000 kms + in 7 days or so.I know about "running in" of engine & plan to adhere on same. Also i am planning change of oil @ 1000 kms.Any other advise on this by esteemed members?
5.Apart from regular accessories, any advise on other cool accessories, which i may look into.
Regards & thanks in advance

Buddy, Please go through this before deciding on it.

1.Is it a good choice?
Its a personal choice! I don't advocate this.

2.Is it a good deal?
15K + New Tyre of your car, absolutely no.

3.How much increase in GC can i expect..at least theoretically?
Ciaz has 170mm as GC from OEM, what more you need? It fares better than City 2014 and Sunny. With upsize, you might gain 2-3mm more that's all.

4.Also i am planning change of oil @ 1000 kms.Any other advise on this by esteemed members?
Don't over-speed!

5.Apart from regular accessories, any advise on other cool accessories, which i may look into.
Ciaz is a sweet and elegance sedan. Any over the top accessories would make it loud. If possible then avoid those curved bumper corners of Ciaz. The rear one's look really odd.

Akash

PS: All the best dear!

IMO, Ciaz is having Synthetic oil. Why change it at 1000km? Check with the dealer or see the maintenance schedule.( 12 months or 10k kms?)

I would say go for Michelin. 15k looks high, bargain for 10-12 k which should be a good deal. Goodyear lasts long, but are very noisy, thus Michelin is a better buy any day IMO. 205 should look hot on those beautiful alloys, and there's good space in Ciaz to accommodate it. Don't worry too much about mileage, you have the most fuel efficient diesel mill under the hood [;)]

Absolutely YES. I am happy to see another soul thinking like me.

I do not repent a bit for spending 10K to replace OEM Goodyear (185) with Michelin PLC (195) for my Ertiga. The ride quality improvement and noise level reduction were immediately noticeable.. similar to switching from a hard pair of shoes to some nice branded running shoes..

After all, comfort is one of the key aspects we look for when paying 10lakhs and why do we have to wait for another 40 - 50K kms to change to nice pair of shoes. But as another friend has also pointed out, 15K looks a bit high under exchange. Try to bargain it for under 12k. One reason for lower buy back price could be odd size (I am unsure in this case), for which there may not be many takers.
