Ciaz sports variant spotted again- Start/Stop technology would make it even more fuel efficient. Launch seems near as stocks builds up. Ciaz Sport variant in black looks stunning.

Re: Maruti Ciaz ZDI: Test Drive Feedback

What Could be Better

* Paint Quality. Really need to improve on it.

* Upkeep of TD Car could have been better.

* Steering was bit hard.

* Ingress and Egress was slightly an issue.

Re: Maruti Ciaz ZDI: Test Drive Feedback

After driving the Ciaz ZDI, I feel that it is a good car and can ably compete with the contenders of the segment even though it is an all new product from Maruti. Though Maruti has never been highly successful in this segment previously with cars like SX4 but with CIAZ Maruti seems to be willing to aggressively place itself in this segment. However, with Veterans like Honda City, Verna, Linea, Rapid/Vento, Fiesta and Sunny it will be a tough task for Ciaz to make its place. In the 6 months since it has launched, if we take away 1.5 months of waiting period too, CIAZ has made its presence felt. Here is a Link that shows how Maruti CIAZ shall fare against the competitors of the segment. The Ciaz now also comes with ZDi+ Variant and a RS Variant also with body skirts is in the making and should be rolled out in near future and I hope Maruti in future does give an AT in Diesel too.

March 2015 sales of Ciaz settled around 4k. But City sales zoomed to 9700.
Seems ciaz loosing its flare much earlier than anticipated and indeed helping city ever than before to capture potential buyers.
I was still in dilemma to choose between Ciaz and City..
Having already booked Zdi of Ciaz,I kept the decision on pause since almost 2 months
I expected ciaz to be complete package from Maruti, and booked in October 2014 itself even I have intetion to change car in JAN 2015 not to miss opportunity to have a hold on Ciaz.
But It was disappointing by Maruti mainly Engine and Some external designing.
I dont understand the strategy of maruti..They want to take headon to Honda City still they create a bland design (even though the prototype much much better in design - i expected production version much better than current version).

My choices were almost zeroed down to ZDi+ to VMT of City Diesel
or ZDI or SVMT of City Diesel Price range is 12 to 13 Lakh on road.
I am sure I will keep the car for another 5-6 yr min.
My main concerns for Car as potential spender of 13 lakhs..
1. I want car to be contemporary in design and future proof (atleast half future proof) - i dont want my car to get phased out car after 1 yr.. Look at Honda city 3rd gen or 4th gen..even Verna they look much better on road. But Ciaz will definitely loose its presence after an yr or Two. It urged a better exteriors..maruti simply ignored.
2. Engine.. may be they tuned 1.3 DDiS to get a smooth handling and ride quality.,in my opinion Capacity matter.. again Maruti ignored. what ever the reasons indigenous production of 1.5 L delayed blah blah.. ( As a customer i dont need such lame excuses ...Next yr When i See I see revamped Ciaz launched with 1.5L engine..My heart will get a pinch.. I am made a big fool by maruti Ciaz 1.3 L over choosing a City 1.5 L).

3.Rest of features as backseat comfort ,ride quality more or less on par with City.
Infoenterainment is good addition but not deal breaker
Tyre size and alloys they are offering on ZDI+ is a half deal breaker
Navigation is never never a bid deal...can buy aftermarket products or simply can use our mobiles..so as with tyres too..

In every aspect Ciaz loosing to City. (IMO)..
Only saving grace for CIAZ is MARUTI BADGE And its after sales service..

I am not still ruling out Ciaz completely coz its from Maruti..
Still I am in dilemma between Ciaz and City.. Need to finalise my decison in 15 days.
Test drove both vehicles twice.
My point if I opted out Ciaz could be Engine and Simple (people call it classic) designing .. City scoring many checkboxed but overpriced to ciaz. (city is under quipped be it tyres, info entertainment and some extra feature when compared ciaz )

I request owners of Ciaz pls help me and tell me about running cost and performance of Ciaz in real world and reactions of your friends and neighbours regarding your purchase over city.. obviously you could have looked to city before buying City and why you have choosen it)

Was in similar dilemma about 2 months back.Had booked ciaz ZDi+ but delayed launched coupled with 1.3L engine option kept Honda City in contention.Though I had always liked city but the low GC was a big concern.
Finally went for City VMT diesel in January and oh boy! I have enjoyed every single Km of about 6000 clocked till date.
Just back from a quick tour of Rohtang pass.though it got slightly scrapped a few times but nothing too much to worry about as most sedans would have given the terrain. And yes, cruise control is the best feature. No more pain in right foot during long highway drives!

^I have recently to manali in feb when there was snow..lovely place to be in.
actually i am from andhra pradesh down south..now we are temp up in 35-40 degrees Celsius.
You frequently travel to manali?

I dont think GC will be a big problem for me..even i have lot speed breakers at my place .
So ur choice to opt out ciaz is 1.3L engine or anyother specific reasons?

Yes Prasanth i travel to Manali frequently.Just bought a piece of land there & intend to permanently shift [glasses]

1.3L engine was the major reason. But now i have admit that i never thought cruise control could be so useful. Its a BLISS

I am wondering how could you manage to drive with cruise in manali roads?? I guess you do it on plain terrain when you off the ghat road
On Plain terrain how much it really useful?
