LTested ciaz zdi today.
The car looks smoking hot. lots of space everywhere.
the suspension is super soft. slightly bumpy like SUVs.
Never compare its driving dynamics with a fiesta. ford is THE driver's car.Ciaz drives good but neither sporty nor enthusiastic. the rear seat is the placeto be in.the competitors are not even closer.
the TD ciaz

I read this news twice just to believe it indeed is true [:D]

Ciaz overtook mighty City in the first month of its sale! I know this is too early to comment on the success of Ciaz, but sure this is great start.
There were many who believed that people will not spend 10+ lakhs money on Maruti Car, but that seems not the case in reality.
With the 17k+ booking in hand, I won't be surprised to see Ciaz outselling City at least for next 3 months.

It will be interesting to see how Ciaz sale ticks after 6 months ,once the initial euphoria settles down. And by that time, we might have the face lifted Verna to add to the competition.

BTW, I seriously hope that despite the lesser weight, Ciaz is strong enough to sustain impacts and can pass the NCAP tests, unlike Swift [confused]

Don't worry Indian Manufacturers are following Indian safety standard (what is it?) and since average speed is low in India NCAP will not matter [:)]

On sales front we need to watch for next two months, it is early days yet. Honda is having production constraint and are starting 2nd shift in Tapukara plant this month. So may be November numbers will show the trend.

One thing that goes in the favor of Ciaz is its price and the package one gets for the money they are paying. I must say that MS knows very well that how to make the right use of parts sharing.
Although with the 1248cc engine, driveability still remains a question mark for me(No magazine based performance figures please).

Still awaiting ownership thread for Ciaz. Surprising that even though 6000+ vehicles have been delivered last month, but no review in any forums.

Awaiting eagerly for a review thread in TAI

Many Ciaz's getting delivered but still no info on any of the accessories given on Maruti Genuine Accessory brochure for Ciaz on Maruti's website. No price info, dealers are completely unaware of availability or costs.

So one has to buy mats etc. from dealer or after market and one certainly will not buy again from MGA, then what is the use of these accessories if these are not put in the initial lot of cars. This will leave a bad taste for Ciaz buyers and will propagate to prospective buyers.

An e-mail and a phone call to Maruti did not help. They did not respond.[anger]

Maruti responded with list and prices. They are making all the accessories available before delivery.[clap]

Blue colour could be reserved for th Ciaz Z+ variant .

Ciaz Z+ variant will have all the features of Z-O variant, and in addition will have the new touchscreen SmartPlay system for multimedia and navigation needs. Apart from this, SmartPlay also allows you to connect your mobile phone and offers voice recognition as well. In addition, there is the MirrorLink Car-mode, this allows you to replicate your mobile phone’s screen on the car’s SmartPlay screen, giving you access to all the apps on your phone via the car’s system

With the Facelifted Verna & Reduced Waiting Period for City, Ciaz will be worried. Not much is happening for it after the initial euphoria it generated. Not much cars with dealers as of now. Still waiting is there of around 3-4 months, but then the City which was launched in January also has same waiting period till now.

I think, there is not enough demand for Ciaz after its launch or Maruti might be having supply constraints which might be the reasons for less Ciaz's on road.

Ciaz deluveries in full swing, with a few on road, atleast in Bangalore.

The waiting period is still very high for Ciaz as well as for City. I think a long waiting period is not good for a car from buyer's perspective even though from outside it may give feeling that the car is in demand. No one likes to wait in today's market when you have so much option. Too early delivery (1-2 weeks) as well as 5-6 month waiting, both will put off buyers.

In Mumbai, I saw only one Ciaz on road but in Delhi I saw many within 3-4 days. So it is filling Indian roads though slight slow.

After 2 months of pre-booking and loads of reviews, news and test drive, I feel I made a wise decision of choosing Ciaz over its competitors and feel even better that I pre-booked it as wait period for an AT Ciaz is huge now.

Dear All,

An Important Update: Maruti Suzuki Dealers have been advised to carry out a proper PDI check on the yet-to-be delivered Ciaz models. What I have seen today is that in the initial batch of vehicles allocated to my uncle's dealership, not 1 but 2 Ciaz have undergone Clutch pedal check because there was a niggle with the Clutch release baring.

Requesting the owners of Maruti Suzuki Ciaz to please properly check their respective cars at the time of delivery for this.

Note: This issue is only in initial batch and has been rectified at dealer's end itself prior to delivery.

Video of Ciaz under test after the required Clutch issue being addressed.
