Looks good enough for families. Couples and singles can go for the Zest or Punto 90 HP if they want a 90 HP Diesel. Else, Alto K10 is a sensible buy any day.

Kudos to Maruti who could keep the secrets of Ciaz in tight security till the launch. Till this time, we didn't know there would be ZDI '+' trim [:D]

I hate that ABS Sticker on rear windshield, looks out of place.
Gold color is pleasant to look at , Space and Comfort will be it's selling points. ZDI will get AVN, leather seats etc I think over other variants.

CIaz - Exterior and Interiors revealed - Quite a looker- a segment of itws own. AT at launch

The Ciaz gets Bi-Xenon headlamps and a smart grille up front. Colours on sale will be Gold, White, Black, Maroon and Silver.
The Ciaz looks and feels more upmarket than the SX4 and it's evident in this rear view. The car has bolder lines and has a premium air to it that the SX4 lacked. It's also less bulbous this time round.195/55 R16 alloys with this thin multispoke design looks attractive.
Interiors are a dual tone affair. They look neatly appointed . Steering wheel design is similar to the Swift.
The Maruti Ciaz gets a large touchscreen that doubles up as a display for the reversing camera. These will be only on the top spec variants. The Ciaz also gets automatic climate control, a must in this segment.The Maruti Ciaz will also get steering mounted audio controls and bluetooth connectivity. Also note the lower set phone controls that nicely placed.
Electric ORVMs also get auto fold functions. Four power windows are the norm in this segment. Also, large bottle holders in the door pockets is good as the centre console doesn't have any.Maruti's Ciaz gets the push button start stop feature.
Rear AC vents and a charging point are good features for the rear passengers. Note the Ciaz gets a centre armrest and leather seats, the latter should be available only on the top spec ZXI/ZDI variant.

Interior quality and fit and finish seems to be a notch above all maruti suzuki present cars

Overall exterior and interior are pleasing to one's eyes.

Now wait for the reviews to see that the engines are also capable enough or will they spoil the party.

VOICE COMMANDS!!!!! [clap] But I'd prefer the Zest, Linea or Fiesta more than this. I do not know why, but I would. Fancy touchscreens are something I can get in the aftermarket. Any news on the Automatic? People would usually want that in such a car. BTW, sorry if I sound too biased.[roll]

Some new information coming in,
Maruti Ciaz FE Claimed Figures are 20.73 for Petrol and 26.21 on Diesel making the engines "Most Efficient in Class".

Kerb Weight Stands at 1105 kg for Diesel while 1010 for Petrol

ABS & Dual Airbags only on ZXi/ZDi trims. Disappointed not to see it standard like City.

While Maruti has achieved Best in Class FE Figures by shelving weight, the Honda City was severely criticized for being light in weight & build quality. How many of them will do same for Ciaz will wait and see, I get the sense that It will be even lighter in feel then already light City.

Now Verna , City, Rapid and Vento will feel heat and this model will sell 5000+ every month at least for next 2 years.This is called real upgrade,if I am in market to buy a Sedan and budget is 12-13 Lakhs then only option will be Ciaz.

Each car have their own strength & weaknesses. Success depends on Positioning, USPs, Brand Image.
I think all of these cars would be unaffected, especially since Verna has premiumness, Vento has German Toughness, Rapid has Value for Money Tag, City has Brilliant Packaging. I expect Ciaz to be Best in Comfort & Space. That is what Maruti have emphasised on other then rest of the things like engines, dynamics, etc. Let's wait and watch.
