Re: Maruti Suzuki Ciaz: Technical Issues and Solutions

This dugg dugg noise is also there in my car. It seems something is loose and is banging some other part. But it tends to go off after 60kmph. It has progressively got more intrusive over the month. and my car has just run 2K kms. Has anyone got it resolved? Is it also a diesel variant issue or across both fuel variants.?

The rubbers used in front suspension bush kit was not in proper dimension thats by the sound comes when the car hit into a pit hole. go to your MASS dealer and ask them to change the Front Suspension Bush Kit with the New Modified part produced by Maruti. Today i got it done from my MASS and now my Ciaz Running Fine [clap]

Re: Maruti Suzuki Ciaz: Technical Issues and Solutions

Hello Friends,
I am a new member to the Forum and owner of a brand new CIAZ ZDI+ bought on 28th October 2016. Need some expert advice from Fellow CIAZ owners for a weird issue that I am facing since last couple of days. As soon as I crank the engine, I get this humming sound which keeps increasing. I have also noticed a strange sound "like air passing at high speed" from left rear tyre. I got this checked at MASS but they couldn't nail the cause of the problem. We checked another brand new undelivered car at dealer's stock yard and it had similar sound. However my friend's Ciaz which is an year old doesn't have this sound. I spoke to the Maruti regional service engineer and he has assured that he will do some R&D and get back to me but wanted to check with you all if anyone of you have faced this issue and managed to solve it. At the outset it looks to be a Fuel pump issue and may be a bad part used by Maruti for this batch of cars.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions and help.

Does it happens on bad roads? My dad owns a Ciaz (3 months old) i went to visit my parents on Diwali and drove his car ZXI+ i noticed that dag dag sound whenever the car used to go over a bad patch, Initially felt that it's something to do with the brake calipers or the steering rack. After I came back dad gave the car for 1st free inspection and also mentioned this sound to the SA, it turned out to be broken rack bushes. He says that this problem is with several other ciaz owners as well. My question is, if this is with several others as well why didn't Maruti recalled vehicles to rectify this. I think the SA was taking him for a ride.

Yes, this noise is with multiple Ciaz's. I have the same problem and also got it checked in 2 other Ciaz at the stockyard they had the same. Maybe I'll drop a mail to MSIL with this particular link for them to visit and see the feedback.
What is your opinion on this?

Even I had the same problem since my first service but now it's been fixed. I was told that they need to change a bush in the suspension to get the issue fixed.

Re: Maruti Suzuki Ciaz: Technical Issues and Solutions

I am having few issues in my car are you guys also facing this kinda issues

1) Guys has anyone checked speedometer speed shown correctly or not. I checked it with different GPS speedometer apps at various speeds my car is showing 8kmph more than the normal speed. I even told the service center guys but they says it's correct. Any of you guys can check you car and let me whether having the same issue.
2) Do you guys can hear the isg motor running sound while accelerating because after getting the car from service I am not able to hear the same.
3) I am having an issue with car steering wheel feedback. After turning steering wheel it's not returning back fully to straight initial position. Is any one facing the same issue.
4) Have you guys noticed in your car that when you switch on headlights isg motor will not work while accelerating. This one was no where mentioned in the manual or no one told me while purchasing.

1. Most vehicle speedometers tend to exaggerate your speed (Often 5-8%). The reason tends to be debated between limiting excessive speeding and accounting for error in traffic enforcement radar guns.

2. and 4. ISG motor?

3. This is often the case with Electric Power-assisted steering units. As for the Ciaz specifically, I will let an owner confirm.

Re: Maruti Suzuki Ciaz: Technical Issues and Solutions

Thanks for the reply.

Actually I used obd to measure speed from ecu its showing the correct speed only the speedometer is showing a little higher. When I told this to service center they changed my speedo assembly itself still same issue.

ISG - integrated starter generator is the smart hybrid motor attached to engine. This motor will assist engine while accelerating and act as generator while decelerating.

For the steering wheel issue i explained to service center guys and now they are saying that my steering wheel column and faulty and going to change it in warranty. Not sure if this is an global issue.

The ECU will inevitably read accurately as that number is used by the vehicle for other calculations (Such as EPS sensitivity).

Ok, looked it up and it seems to just be a reversible alternator. In that case, 4 would be explained by the inability to charge the battery fast enough (avoiding battery drain) due to current draw from the lights. I've noticed a similar phenomenon in some other non-traditional Hybrid systems.

Re: Maruti Suzuki Ciaz: Technical Issues and Solutions

Thank you Suryaputhra sir,

Yes, ran the car for about a total of 200km over the log weekend.

Suspension noise and the reverse gear problems have settled down or probably I have got used to them.

However, the idle start shudder is still persisting. Idle start engine RPM reads about 500 only which I think should be corrected during first service and might be the culprit. Yes, I try to rev to 1500 for starting from 0.

The tyre pressure is correct. Through MSIL gave delivery with PSI of 45-46 in each tyre as against recommended PSI of 33 I got it corrected and filled nitrogen the very next day after taking delivery but the problem is till there.

Thanks for your inputs.
I have faced similar issues like the reverse gear problem.told the service centre and they told me the issue had been fixed and to press the clutch completely when engaging reverse gear but the prob is still persisting. As for the high speed steering wheel sensitivity prob ,it might be because of the light weight of the car and can't be fixed. Can we change the gear power output deliveries like the first gear??

Hi, Has this been fixed? I got VDI plus delivered day before 4/1/2017 and same day I had the sound. Visited Service center and they changed Fuel Pump (they claim as they changed) but still could hear the sound and as you said they claim its there in all car but I couldn't get chance to see the another car. Upon searching over net got this link https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/symptoms-of-a-bad-or-failing-fuel-pump and have asked service engineers to have a look on this and do necessary.
