Re: Suzuki's New Premium Hatchback Baleno Now Launched!

Hii
Any news on the HP of Baleno RS for India, I hope Maruti dosent downgrade the engine from 110 bhp for India, if its launched with 110 bhp and 5 speed MT, it will be a superb product,
110/0.890=123.5 bhp per ton, it will be super quick and efficient at same time too
It will be 110HP and 150NM of torque.

Power will be 102 hp.

The RS will be powered by a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine developing 102hp and 150Nm of torque – a detuned version of the motor currently on offer on the Baleno in international markets which develops 111hp. The car will be offered with a five-speed manual gearbox as standard with no option for an automatic as of now. The RS will also feature disc brakes at all four corners. It will also be heavier than its other petrol siblings with the model weighing in at 950kg

Re: Spied! Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS 1.0L Boosterjet

102 bhp, and 950 kg,
That means 107 bhp per ton,
Still not bad, but 110 bhp would have been sweet.

Hatch backs with turbo petrols will be FUN

Re: Spied! Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS 1.0L Boosterjet

Hey Gautam, thanks for posting the pics before launch. Looks great. A recent post from rush lane says that it comes with a 6-speed Automatic too. Is that true ?
If this is true, than I am heading off to Nexa with my cheque book!.
@Akash, when can we expect a formal review of the Ignis and Baleno RS, TAI-style ?

Looks like this 1.0 Boosterjet engine is a no match when compared to Ford's 1.0 Ecoboost engine. The power figures of Ecoboost is 125bhp and 170nm of torque.

https://youtu.be/9mG1tLtUSJQ

But as per the above video between 7:20 ~ 8:30, he says when there is higher octane fuel available in India the Boosterjet can be tuned to 112 bhp and 170nm of torque. But Ecoboost already makes the same power output even with 91 octane fuel.
