Hi
Am new to this forum, I have a Baleno alpha petrol which is 4 months old. The problem is.... whenever am listening to music in USB mode, it automatically skips to Radio mode very frequently and its really annoying. I have tried with different brand USB's but still the problem persists.

Can anyone tell me what could be the problem & Is there a way to sort it out ? Please let me know.
Never observed this problem in my baleno. Please see that you are not fiddling with the mode button on your steering accidentally without your knowledge.

Other than that, problems could be due to your USB port also because as per your comment, if the mode is getting changed automatically to Radio, it means that the USB connection is getting lost for some reason (could be due to loosely fitted port, damaged one) and the HU is going into default mode, in this case Radio. Please check with the authorized service centre.

Anyone here could help me to clear the scratches made on baleno due to bird droppings?

They are not going off with shampoo/handwash. Also there are few minor scratches made by the neighbourhood school kids while on their way to school. Its long single line scratch which goes all the way from the fender to the tail lights covering the both the doors on passenger side in between[cry]

Hi
Thanks for your suggestions, I did approached the service centre but they have no clue on this issue. USB port was changed with a new port and still it happens, is there any restrictions on using high capacity USB drive ? However, let me check on what you have advised now.
Thanks again.

Ok, please try to post more details here...

What is the pattern in which this issue is happening?
Whether USB drive is getting reconnected after the disconnect?
After the ingition is ON, after how much time, this issue started to happen?
Are there any rattles surrounding to that area which might be interacting with USB port?

I guess it has something to do with USB disk size also. As per the manual, Hard disk drives are generally not supported. Never attempted one. I have tried and tested USB drives upto 8GB in my Baleno and found no problems until now.[:)]

What colour is your car? If its a fine hairline scratch, it will go away with polishing. The way to identify is to gently run a fingernail across the scratch. If it get stuck, the scratch is deep. If not, its a hairline scratch.
Next you need to figure out whether the clear coat has been scratched through. Apparently the way to do this is to spray soapy water onto the scratch. If it disappears when wen and returns as it dries, its a clearcote scratch and can be removed with polishing. If it remains visible whilst wet, its into the paint and the only thing to do is to spot touchup. However, this technique never worked for me because even scratched that would disappear when wet couldnt be polished off.

If it s ahairline scratch, you need to rub down with a rubbing compound. However, 3m rubbing compound is very strong and you could get paint fading. I have used Sheeba polish extensively to remove scratches on my previous Swift as well as the Baleno. It works well, especially if you have a cheap chinese polishing machine like me, and also does not fade paint even if you persist a lot with it.

If you need spot touchup you have two options. Firstly you can get it touched up at the ASC for free at next service. They usually dont charge for this, colour match is good and using a good merging solvent on top removed any unevenness. Second option is to get touchup paint from com-paint.com. They have two packages- pen and spray. The pen is currently only available in white and granite gray. The colour match is accurate as long as you follow their procedure. However, it wont fill the depression in the surface, only bring it to the point its not seen. The second pack is a spray can and is usually used when the primer is exposed. It comes with filler and the correct procedure is to fill the depression with filler, sand smooth and then spray over. Not meant for the weak of heart (you will be sanding the surrounding intact colour also) or the novices (you could get paint dripping and uneven coat). Plus, if you dont do it correctly, the paint will wash off in a little while. So I wouldnt recommend this and have never used it myself. However, all the other colours are currently only available in spray

@Ameyam, Colour of my car is Ray blue. I will check those scratches tomorrow and update whether they are hairline or deeper ones.

I have asked for touchup during my first service and the SA said that after the touch up, it would be visible and look odd. The scratch was created along with a very minor dent (kind of dimple happened in the first week of ownership). So i left it as is.

Most of the scratches were removed by rubbing tooth paste. It was quite effective. I will post the pictures later.

How about the marks created by bird droppings ? any idea?

Which engine oil is better for baleno patrol ? Servo 0w 20 or shell 0w 20 ? In baleno manual they have mentioned about clutch fluid. Where is it located in engine bay ?

Re: Maruti Suzuki Baleno Hatch Service Experience

How to check the Baleno Mileage using "full tank method"..?
Go to a bunk, Fill your car till the auto shut feature kick in. Reset trip meter to 0, drive around as you would daily. On your next refill go to the same bunk and at same time(considering fuels change volume at different temps) and fill it again till auto shut. Record number of liters filled divide by total km's driven from ur trip meter.

i too have issue with Bird droppings, but i make sure to put enough water on the droppings until it flows off completely and then dry it with micro fiber cloth. and i don't see markings then. not sure what procedure you follow ?

don't scratch them or try to wipe without water, it leaves marking then.

I spray diluted 3M shampoo from an old glass cleaner bottle to clean bird droppings or any other stubborn stains. Cleans the stains and leaves a shine. If that doesn't work then apply some toothpaste, clean it off and later rub the area with wax.

Bird dropping are best cleaned off when new and wet. The are acidic and will damage paint. I keep a 500ml bottle of 3m shampoo mix in the car spray onto the dropping as soon as i see it.

But this is not always possible. So if it has dried, i simply spray the same mix on to it and wait some time, the wipe it off with tissues

About 6 litres. Good for 40km. But dont push it. Last week we had the light come on and had to drive another 14km after that. Mostly because i hadnt had the energy to go and fill up on previous night and didnt want to put car into traffic at that stage. All the way, we toggled aircon. When we opened the filler at tge pump, tge tank hissed from all the vapour thst had collected

Driving the car in reserve makes the fuel pump get heated and shortens the life. Also EVAP (evaporative emission control system) should work hard chances of canister and purge valve failures and getting fault codes. One way of increasing the life of fuel pump is keeping the fuel at least half the tank and changing the fuel filter as per maintenance schedule.
