Hi,
My Baleno Petrol Zeta recently completed 1000 Kms and I got the first service done. After that I started experiencing pain in my hand and i felt the car was pulling to one side of the road. I went again to the showroom and asked them to check the alignment. They agreed the alignment is wrong in left side and did the alignment and gave the report.
But now I am feeling little pain in my palm. The steering play is very high and the steering turns itself even for a small rough patch in the road. I feel the steering is giving the feedback from the road vibration and I am feeling that in my palm.
I again took the car to MASS, they checked it and said its normal and baleno normally has such a steering play.
The car now doesn't pull one side.. but when i take hand of the steering and it hits a small rough patch it starts pulling in one direction. The steering play is very high in slow speeds.
Is this normal? or due to my bad driving habit? or is there something i need to check even by taking to some non MASS center.
Could someone please help me.

What you are feeling is bump steer, not steering play and this problem is definately there. When you hit a pot hole or bump, the steering will snap in one direction or other. There is no point resisting this because it will immediately snap back in the opposite direction. Resisting the snap will only cause pain in the hands. Left to itself and hold the wheel loose, it will immediately revert back to centre. The issue is with the steering geometry which is set very close to the limits for castor and bump steer and not much can be done

With regards to steering play, that is when you can move from the steering wheel from 12.30 position to the 11.30 position without the wheels turning. This is also an inherent issue and its not going to be resolved because Maruti finds "nothing wrong with it". I was one of the 1st to notice and try to convince MS. But they say that this is by design. They are not perturbed by it because some people are used to correcting continuously for centre. Even I noticed it because I was driving on the Expressway at high speed and noticed the car drifting slowly to one side and then the other. Al low speeds, this causes the steering to feel less precise and at higher speeds (over 80) you feel that drift. I was probably sensitive to it as well coming from the Swift. I was even told it is an alignment issue and, on another occassion, its due to new tyres and will go away with time, both of which are false. However it does go down a lot after you do a good balancing and alignment. From personal experience and discussions I have had with a lot of owners, the car isint 100% balanced at the factory- I ended up adding 150g to all 4 wheels together. The problem reduced to a great extent after I did this and I also noticed, now that my car is approaching 4th service at just over 20k km, the issue has come back again

I guess you need to drive a bit in order to see the range and the corresponding average fuel economy. Try it and let us know

Yes. The range is an instantaneous value and requires to log the driving for last few km to be computed. You need to drive to get a range indication

Likely you switched off parking sensor system. On the RHS of the dash below the steering wheer, there is a button with "P" on it and it should have a green light. If it is off, the light wont glow and you wont get the obstacle warning. Switch it on to enable the system

It this doesnt help, contact the ASC because you may have some issue with the sensor system

Thanks Ameyam for your reply.
I noted one more thing in my car. When I start my ignition i hear three beep with interval and a red light near to hazard light switch blinking continuously. But this is not happening every time. That why it's confusing me. But I noticed this happening only after I enabled the anti theft sensor.
Is this normal or should I check this with service center?

Please advice.

Thanks

Hello guys,
I am starting this new thread to discuss about any technical issues related to Suzuki Baleno. I am owner of Baleno Zeta Petrol and have driven 500 kms. I have 2 technical doubts with my baleno

1.Anti pinch power window for driver side. As demonstrated by Maruti, it is supposed to work if there's any obstacle. I kept my hand and windows dint stop rolling up. I touched the window and it still did not stop. Now I use force on window and then it goes down. I doubt it is the usual working of anti pinch driver window.

2 Baleno petrol doesn't get engine cover and heat insulation for exhaust outlet from engine which exposes the nearby wiring to high temperatures and I have noticed little melting of plastic covering of wiring.

Other than these 2 doubts/issues I am in love with my Baleno
I have one doubt... if I remove keys and don't lock the car then will it auto lock after sometime? I felt my Baleno used to do it but recently I noticed it is not.. *so bit confused here.

Please check the manual. I guess if you unlock your car and don't open the door for about 30 seconds, the car should automatically lock itself. I have tried tested my self. Car do gets locked automatically however, there won't be any indicator lights glowing after lock. If this doesn't happen, check with Authorized service centre

That flashing red light after you start the car is a sign that your shock sensors were enabled and the alarm had been sounded whilst the car was locked. Depending on the sensitivity set, that alarm could be someone trying to open the door, someone leaning on the car, an Enfield passing by aor even a cat brushing against the car. I found out by trial and error that a setting of about 10 is sufficient those who lean aggressively on your car but not to scare away those who lean gently. There is no solution to the Enfield issue though

The car will not auto lock if the key is inside. Even if you press the lock buttons with the key inside, it wont lock. There is a setting that autolocks the car after a fixed time if you leave it unlocked but I havent figured out where it is. Though my settings cause it to autolock and it started working that way after I enabled the shock sensors. The best way to avoid leaving your car unlocked is to set the cabin light to "door". That way the light remains on for sometime if you forget to lock the car

Happened with my Dzire as well. Lower the shock sensor sensitivity. Sometimes i used to lock the car and immediately after few seconds the safety alarm used to go off. After pressing the unlock button it used to beep 3 times(regular unlock beeps are 2) and then if you start the car there are 4 loud beeps with the flashing anti theft light. I was baffled what the issue was. Then it just came to my mind that the sensitivity i have put for shock sensor is extremely high, I lowered the setting and the problem is gone. Just try and let us know as suggested by ameyam as well.

Hi
Am new to this forum, I have a Baleno alpha petrol which is 4 months old. The problem is.... whenever am listening to music in USB mode, it automatically skips to Radio mode very frequently and its really annoying. I have tried with different brand USB's but still the problem persists.

Can anyone tell me what could be the problem & Is there a way to sort it out ? Please let me know.
