We have drained new car engine oil and checked in my office lab and found it is synthetic, one more thing gear oil too fully synthetic.

Semi synthetic and so called fully synthetic both are type 3 base hydro cracked engine oils only, in semi synthetic base oil more and less additives that's all.

Real synthetic oil uses fully man made synthetic base.

Present generation cars cylinder bore never finished with cross hatch pattern due to resin coated and low tension piston rings.

You can go for higher grade oil but no guarantee it can protect engine from rust, but affects other parameters of the engine and car.

Thanks.
I checked with Rana Motors, N.Delhi Works Manager.
He said that they would fill Mobil 0 W 20 engine oil by default; cost of oil + oil filter =Rs 1500 approx. Actually fully synthetic oil he said would cost Rs 1200 / litre.
I guess the Mobil 0W 20 would be fine.
Thanks for the advice to you & Ameyam.

I am planning to buy Baleno Zeta 1.2 Petrol. I read lot of complaints about rear suspension. Has the issue been rectified or the owner just have to live with it?

Hi All,
I am not satisfied with the Baleno Headlamps(Zeta) and planning to upgrade. It would be really helpful if forum friends can guide me in the below.
1. The current bulbs are 60/55. Is it possible to upgrade to a better lighting with same wattage? Is this worth and is there a significant improvement?
2. Is there an option to go for higher wattage like 100/90 without altering wiring or adding any additional components.
3. If there needs to be additional wiring/cut outs required, will it void warranty and do we need to alter the headlamp unit?

4. Also, is there an option to upgrade the fog lamps without alteration/additional wiring?

Thanks for all your help and please excuse me if I am posting this in a wrong thread.

Thanks

Hi,first of all congrats for your new purchase now coming to your questions.

1. The current bulbs are 60/55. Is it possible to upgrade to a better lighting with same wattage? Is this worth and is there a significant improvement?

Answer:- You have not specified which brand bulbs you got with your car you can surely upgrade to philips 60/55W bulbs than by doing this you will get some better quality of light as i had already expirienced this on my Ford Ikon 2005 model i had upgraded from Osram 60/55W to philips 60/55W bulb and this had improved the light quality to more extent.

2. Is there an option to go for higher wattage like 100/90 without altering wiring or adding any additional components.

Answer:- No don't ever do this mistake because upgrading to 100/90W without appropriate wiring kit would result in burning of your current wiring because company wiring cannot take load of such higher wattage bulbs.

3. If there needs to be additional wiring/cut outs required, will it void warranty and do we need to alter the headlamp unit?

Answer:- No according to me it should not void warranty if its plug and play type but then also if your running is not more on highways at night then my suggestion is to continue with stock bulbs till the companie's warranty is not completed as the dealers while claiming warranty can point out this additional wiring a culprit for the damage even in reality if it is not so because i am unaware about baleno but in swift owners manual it is specifically written that "USAGE OF HIGHER WATTAGE BULBS INSTEAD OF COMPANIE'S SPECIFIED BULB RATING COULD LED TO THE VOID OF WARRANTY".

I hope this would be helpfull to you
Thanks.

Thanks a lot for your quick response.

I think the bulb is already phillips but will check though. I read from net that there are some variants in Phillips like extreme vision etc., in 60/55 which can improve lighting.
Also, if we are going for additional wiring/cut-out will it require altering the headlamp unit???

Fog Lamp:
I saw a post in another forum that we can upgrade the Fog lamp to 55W (currently 30 W, think so) without any additional wiring. is it safer option?

Thanks

Yes i had also read on net that there are many variants in philips 60/55W but when i inquired with the accessories shop near me he told in 60/55W there are no variants as this bulbs are provided to owner as stock bulbs by many car manufactures yes there are many different variants of bulbs in 100/90W and for H4 wiring kit i belive that no alteration to headlamp assembly is required

About fog lamp upgrade i don't know much so can't say anything but according to me if you are using higher wattage bulb for fog lamp it also may require a wiring kit but not know exactly so cannot say anything
Thanks

The Maruti workshop you're attached to would carry Philips Xtreme Vision 2 ( 60/55) as an approved part.
You can get it fitted from them, no warranty probs then.

In one word you have to Live with it as it has stiffer suspensions. it can't be changed or fixed.

As my priority is back seat comfort which will be good for parents so planning to go with TIGOR......

You can surely install 90/100 Phillips rally bulb with a OEM wiring kit. I did the same with my Baleno and the improvement is awesome. If you use a relay its a plug and play. No need to cut wire and your warranty will be also intact.

You can upgrade to 90/100w bulb provided you use ceramic bulb holder with relay which is easily available as a kit by reputed manufacturers like philips, hella etc. but even then if you are used to prolonged night driving your headlamp coverglass/lens with reflector gets blackened/ greyish with usage due to prolonged heat exposure.
