How many owners have having the driver side mirror auto close and open not working?
I mean, mine has been hitting other cars and pedestrians (at low speeds, when crossing cars coming from the opposite side in lanes or people who are not paying attention and loitering around) quite a bit. Last week, on two occasions, I had the mirror not open up fully. It opened up to a point, then stopped and didnt go further when I opened it electrically. When I pressed the button and then released again, it went back to the fully open position. Then mid week, after it tapped into a woman in a lane, I pulled the mirror housing in while it was in fully open position just to check is all was well. To my surprise, it closed like the mirror housings on my Swift. I was able to close and then again open the housing manually and it locked into both the open and closed positions without any gear chatter or resistance. And the electrical opening and closing method still works fine. I cant open it from closed position manually but I can close it from open position by gently pulling it in manually. Wondering whether this is by design- this method can be used once the electrical mechanism stops working or lets the mirror housing close without getting damaged if it makes contact with the mirror of an oncoming car. It may be that the mechanism opening and closing the mirror housing is more of a rotating lock ratchet type rather than a gear type, if you understand what I mean

Happened with me also couple of times, as mirror brushed sometimes with other close by vehicles and I had noticed an audible click sound with some stuck movement mainly on the right side window for few days, also it had a nice hit from an oncoming Tempo, and I was so surprised to see that the mirror just had a little scratch and it got closed completely. had it not been closed I am sure it would have been damaged completely.
Also it happened while cleaning the car when the local cleaning guy moved the mirror by his hands and I told him its electric but by that time he just closed it with force.
well now presently it works fine both ways electrically and manually
