I will provide you updates after rlakhi.
Well if it has been done deliberately by some moron then he would have to pay for this thing.
But what i feel is it was a stone that rolled down the fort due to heavy rainfall that night.

Finally fixed a new glass on 8th aug, procedure was hassle. Got it done from Winshield Express, they charged 1200rs. Rest was covered by the insurance. Work was neat.

Good to hear that! Getting factory fit is tough and if you are happy, that means something.

But still, you lost your NCB for no fault of yours. Just like me. Last year I paid around ~12k with NCB. This year, I paid 17k without it. [cry]

Re: Hyundai Xcent S 1.2 - My Daily Commute - Owner's View (3rd Service Update @ Pg.13

After 33000 kms of abuse, the company default Apollo 3G Maxx started squealing under hard brake. I can see varied thread pattern which means no proper wheel alignment!

Anyways planning to switch tyres and this time, I would like to buy something which would last me much longer than the shitty 3G Maxx!

My requirements are :
1. Less tyre/road noise
2. Decent life(around 40-45k)
3. Durable/Reliable!

So I've narrowed my choices to (You can suggest me if there are other better options):

1. Michellin XM2
2. Yokohoma Earth1

The size is 165/65 R14! The tyre dealer suggest me that I can go upto 175/65 R14, which means much better ride quality with little less FE but thats ok with me.

So please help me with my questions!
1. please suggest me which tyre and what size!
2. Things to beware of in-case of up-sizing!

My grand i10's tyres are also about to change.

I am planning to get them changed by 175/65 R14 Yokohama Earth1. The current size 165/65 R14 is small and not good as the ride quality suffers. One more thing, Yoko's are cheaper than Michelin.

The new size is in the limit of upsizing if you compare it with 175/60R15 which is mentioned on the b-pillar of the car so no need of worrying. Only thing that will bother you is servicing of car will happen little later as ODO reading will change slowly with new tyres which I think is fine.

Rest assured ride quality will improve and road noise will be lesser.

Thanks for the suggestions and links, guys! I thought the difference between speed will be marginal and after the calculation, the difference is about 2.28%! Which means, if I drive 100 km , ODO will read 102.28km! Need to keep this in mind during service, but since I'm always giving my car for service after 20k.30k, I don't think that will be an issue.

Anyways, I never knew these things before. Thanks for pointing it out. My ideal max size will be 175/65 R14 based on all those links. Lets get them changed. [:D]

Lately, I'm finding that my Car won't start in single crank like it used to be and it shutters for a second and need second crank most of the time. Is it because of battery dying? Or is it something else?

90% the battery and 10% the spark plugs. My CITY also gave similar symptoms couple of months back so got the battery changed and its running fine now. How old is the car's battery?

38 months I guess is a reasonable time for the battery to show some symptoms like these. Amaron battery as I remember has 2+2 year warranty i.e 48 months. So, before the issue begins to get worse it is better to get the battery changed. It won't look good if you are taken for ride in your car and in the middle the battery dies out.[;)]

Need to check if it is Amaron or not. And I don't think OEM batteries have that 2+2 warranty applicable. I need to double check that as well.

Going to replace it soon. I spent more money on fuel+service+wear/tear that it is almost 40% on car price. And that too in 3 years. Wow! Owning a car is sure a costly affair.

UPDATE : Crossed 34000 kms today when I took my family out for a park nearby. Saw this during traffic signal but couldn't click any picture because the light turns green and before I reach next signal, it is around 34002kms!

Please have a look at 185/60/14.
Better grip and safety.
Mine tyres are wearing out too. So i will change them at 33K, now at 28K Kms.

Slightly off topic,

Guys, I have a good news and a bad news.

Good news is that I am going to get a 32 months old Punto evo emotion 75 hp.
And bad news is that I will be selling my 27 months old grand i10 sportz petrol.

I am selling my car because:
1. I have driven 10000 KMS in last 4 months and its very tiresome to drive on Highway of distance ~250 KMS.
2. It's getting costly to drive a Petrol car day by day.
3. It's quite a task for a 1.2 NA petrol car cruising on highway at speeds of about 100-120 kmph. Although I get an average speed of 80-85 kmph while doing so but again it's very tiresome.
