To save you from being taken on a ride by the Battery guys/OEM here is some info on the Amaron Battery of my car.

Regards

Akash
Arey Uncle, I already know about their 2+2 warrantt. I said, I just wanted to check if OEM battery has 2+2 warranty.

Please have a look at 185/60/14.
Better grip and safety.
Mine tyres are wearing out too. So i will change them at 33K, now at 28K Kms.
Yeah changing it soon. I'm torn between XM2 and Earth1. Takes a lot of time to decide.

PleaSe go for Yoko earth1, heard so many positive reviews about it, and btw how is your cars smooth petrol engine? I am falling more for it, last sunday i went on a drive just to spend some time with it. Drove 560kms to and fro and still no tiredness.

NVH wise, it surely has gone a bit high but nothing alarming. The petrol engine is a gem and it does it best in terms of everything. My only grouse is that we need to work a lot in traffic with A/C on and 4 passengers. But that is expected due to small displacement. But in general, I still find it good but contrary to what you said, long journeys seem to be tiring these days. Think I'm working a lot? When I bought the car, long journeys seemed to be a lot better, but after drove a lot of vehicles and with integrated neck-restraint, it is indeed little tiring.

I would suggest you to go for Earth 1 as its side wall is better than XM2. Earth 1 are cheaper than XM2 as well.
My top priority is less road/tire noise. But Earth1 being hard material, will it be better than XM2 in this aspect?

It's not that hard though. It's comparable to xm2.
Recently two of my friends who have Punto 90 hp has got Earth 1 and both are happy with their purchase.

One more friend is there who drove his Punto 80000 kms with xm2. And again changed the tyres to xm2 as he was happy with them.

xm2 will be quieter from the two since those are made from silica.
i have silica tyres on my elantra and those are really quiet. But i also have 3 sets of yoko earth 1 on my other cars.
don't buy xm2's for 10k per year driving. it has chipping problems if running is low , my relative who owns the shop told me this.

Thanks for letting me know about chipping issue. My running will be lesser this year since I will be out of country intermittently and I guess I will change tyres after some time. Will upload the tyre photo tomorrow to get a clear idea of how they are and how long can I make do with them!

FD,
Remember to click the rubber insert at various points (marked with a triangular arrow on the sidewall) which is an indicator of usable tread depth.

then i will say don't change them all. if you start having repeated puncture issues then only get it changed. tyre rubber becomes hard in time but damage will be more if car stays idle for longer period.

But the main reason is, the car aquaplaned(not much), and when I braked hard from 70km/h in wet surface during rain, I can feel the car which was in center of the road went to far left and I somehow controlled it. I never had this issue before. This is when I felt tyre treads were too bald to offer any grip under wet conditions.

I will be out of country for 3 months at max and will be back. But again will go after 3 months. So out of 12 months, I will be staying around 6 months. Can I change it after I come back from my first trip? I'm so confused man!.

Hydroplaning happens at usable tread depth too, I have experienced in my previous car and it scared the hell out of me.
I think you can wait until the first trip. Just make sure whoever drives it, knows about the low grip and be extra cautious.
And share those photos soon, along with coin test at several points on the circumference.

Re: Hyundai Xcent S 1.2 - My Daily Commute - Owner's View (3rd Service Update @ Pg.13

Hello all, after giving me pleasurable ride, my Xcent has started showing me some problem.
Since yesterday the Engine check light is ON and i can see the tachometer automatically rising to 1200rpm and then falling back to 700rpm when car at idle. While changing gears i can feel that that jerking also, what this could be?
Another problem i am facing is a distinct "Grrrrmmm" sound coming from the front wheels when taking a U-Turn along with vibration in the gear stick when in 1st gear, this also happens when i am reversing the vehicle and taking a turn, this problem persisted since last 6 months but now it happens everytime i take a U-Turn, ASS guys say this is normal no need to worry(for them everything is normal, even if you have a serious problem). Does anybody have any idea about the problems i mentioned?
Apart from the "Grrmmmm" sound and engine check light everythint is normal.

Don't take this in wrong way, but instead of raising this in this thread, you can either do the same in Grand i10/Xcent problems thread or can create a new thread on your own.

@Guys: As promised, here is the tyres picture.

@Prabhagar: I couldn't find the triangular arrow like you mentioned.

There's hardly 1 mm of tread depth left, and there are cracks too. It's high time to change unless car is gonna hibernate until you return from trip.
The arrows will look like this (open the image in separate window for full size):

And these are the wear indicators aligned with those arrows:

I've checked but can't find the arrows. Will check the wear indicators again and post the image.

And yeah, I know it is high time to change and my travel plans are closing it. I will leave after Diwali and I guess I will better leave the car at my uncles garage with tyres inflated to 40psi.
