Re: Hyundai Xcent S 1.2 - My Daily Commute - Owner's View (3rd Service Update @ Pg.13

It's been what, close to 3 weeks since I left my Xcent. Driving XUV is fun and all, but after driving Xcent, driving XUV feels like a huge responsibility!!!

Especially in bumper to bumper traffic, my legs are yelling at me for leaving Xcent! [cry]

But out on the open roads, XUV is another beast and I forget about my Xcent in that moment. My mind already started calculating for XUV EMIs. Damn!! Anyways looks like XUV will be with me for a couple of more days before I get my Xcent. @abhishek943 : I will get you the log after that.

I will get you the log after that.
I drove one of my friend's Xcent petrol last week and I can surely say that DFCO is nowhere present in the car.
Even I think that no 1.2 petrol car with variable valve timing (Polo, Grand i10, Xcent, Swift & Desire both) is having DFCO enabled. Don't know about Honda's.

^^ As I said, I uploaded my logs in my post and after looking at the logs, its pretty clear it does have DFCO. But still, I will get it checked once again once I get my hands on!!

Re: Hyundai Xcent S 1.2 - My Daily Commute - Owner's View (3rd Service Update @ Pg.13

Hello all....
I own Xcent S1.2 petrol it's almost been 1 years and few days I am very happy to own this car before this I owned Chev spark then due to my growing needs and family i had to opt for a sedan with big boot decent engine and features.
I have clocked 17k kms so far. My drives are mostly in highway and cities 60/40. I am totally satisfied with this car. Nothing could have been better than this in its price range. What I love the most about this car is its smooth engine, and features. My car is ABS equipped. I am able to get mileage around 19.2km/lt, which includes a/c on 90% of the time. I am a steady Driver, I don't cross limits of 80-85 most of the time, I exceed those speeds only when necessary like overtaking and all.
I guess the reserve amount of fuel is 8litres I have asked one of the guy from the service centre.
Yeah I do agree with some of you here that NVH levels have gone up. MY vehicle is due for 3rd service i hope of getting more from this queen. The more I drive the more I fall in love with this car.
Happy Driving.

Re: Hyundai Xcent S 1.2 - My Daily Commute - Owner's View (3rd Service Update @ Pg.13

Two days back i found something weird with my Xcent. Suddenly i missed a turn to left and went ahead, i stopped my car and took reverse after reaching the point where i had to take the left turn i tried shifting my gear to 1st and i was not able to do it, it felt like the gear box was jammed. I tried pressing the clutch and rechecked it still it was not moving luckily i had no traffic behind me or else they would have kept honking, then after 1 and a half minute i was able to shift the gear. Has anybody faced similar problem with Xcent.

Never faced this issue! You wait and see if this occur again, if yes, then better get it checked from Service Center!

Re: Hyundai Xcent S 1.2 - My Daily Commute - Owner's View (3rd Service Update @ Pg.13

Hey guys! A tiny update.

Some good soul near my residence, took his key and attempted to draw straight line in my left side doors and he failed miserably. It isn't straight! [:D]

It will cost me 10k for re-painting and my SA says that I won't be getting Zero-Dep from my next insurance period. So I'm planning for re-paint on left hand side. Will be getting it done after March!

Also, after my poor, cheap rubber foot mat got me irritated, I finally decided to buy a noodle mat for Xcent. Ordered this from amazon and got it within a week. It fits perfectly, quality is good and overall I'm happy with the product. A local dealer quoted me 2k+ for same piece and I got in online for 1.5k!! Yay!

I'm inching closer towards 30k mark and my next visit to my hometown will surely help me with that!!!!

Too lazy for pictures today. But will post soon. And no holes, but it doesn't move around much. It just moves a couple of inches at worst, but nothing to worry about.

Re: Hyundai Xcent S 1.2 - My Daily Commute - Owner's View (3rd Service Update @ Pg.13

Here again with latest Service update. With 28888km at ODO, and with A/C performance getting worst and summer around the corner, I decided to give it for 30k service.

The bill came to a whooping 7.5k!!!! [surprise], and that without Wheel Alignment/Balancing!! (Planning to do it at nearby Bosch Service Center)

They changed every oil, couple of filter, A/C Gas Topup/ Cleaning. Changed Wiper blades because the stock one was gone bad and doing a lot more damage than cleaning.

After service, driving becomes a lot smoother, like it used to be. I used to hear weird tak-tak noise while depressing clutch. That is gone.

And for past few months, I've been hearing squeaking sound from driver seat and that too is gone.

Overall, a prompt service but albeit at higher cost? Guys, what do you think. Is 7.5k too much for 30k service? Fellow Grand/Xcent owners, please pitch in and help me out!

Looking at the items things which were not needed are 1st and 6th and maybe 15 and 16. Rest 30k and 60k service are always higher.
They replaced only 1 spark plug? Also get the injectors cleaned plus get yourself a throttle body spray and you can clean it yourself with the help of youtube videos. You can save more money by changing some things from outside.

A/C disinfect treatment is a scandal by most ASS CENTERS. With no mention of quantity of spray used, it denys a customer a right to know if it's performed at all. It is better avoided. Also cleaning of brakes cost you a fraction at outside FNG and it gives you a chance to see for yourself the wear on the brakes.

Thanks for the info. Will keep this in mind before next service!!!

A/C throw was poor so I told them to clean up. But this disinfectant is creating more issues. Today morning I see that there is mist kinda formation inside windshield. I had to wipe using cloth and I feel this might be the culprit.

From now on, I plan to find a good FNG and try to do regular checkups there. And I am doing WB/WA outside for past 2 services. It is much better!
