Re: Life with the All New Hyundai Verna

Tyre noise an is ah I also can't explain but I think it only comes because of the road [confused]

I mean on good smooth roads there is no tyre noise to be heard inside the car but as soon as rough road starts it comes.

If there is a good patch of road between rough roads then the sound cannot be heard when on good patch.

I have experienced this in my 10 as well. Don't know if it's Hyundai or every car.

Re: Life with the All New Hyundai Verna

jerwin their taking you for a ride every car has an ecu and onboard diagnostics which records all error codes, you can either use their g-scan or you can buy your own obd2 cable and connect to a laptop and download the software to pull out your codes, are they living in the prehistoric world?
the port is below your headlight alignment the panel is labeled fuse just remove it and on top of the fuses you see the port. cleaning filters and decarbing will only help on a high mileage car not a brand new one.

i get the tire noise but its not so much btw i have a sporty thread so tire noise is expected, do check your tire pressures.

Re: Life with the All New Hyundai Verna

I feel the stock bridgestone tyres are noisy which transmits road noise into the cabin. IMO its combine noise of tyre plus suspensions. But nick you have changed your tyre yhen you probably should not hear tyre noise.

sandy they are sporty/performance oriented tires so some tire noise is expected. Btw i thought bridgestones were silent had driven on them for 70km and they were extremely silent.

I have Michellin at the rear (235's R18 /40) they are okay but not that silent , depending on the road as well man.

What are the brands you call Good in india?
I know CEAT , MRF, Goodyear ,bridgestone ..what else and how much they are

Re: Life with the All New Hyundai Verna

these days ceat are not much used, but besides what you said we have hankook, pirelli, continetal, yokohama, dunlop, advan and michellin there are other brands as well. I kind of find pirelli a very good tire

Re: Life with the All New Hyundai Verna

i have seen ceat tyre only on buses, trucks and tractors. Pirelli is not much seen may be because if it is very expensive. What should be criteria to select the right tyres?

Re: Life with the All New Hyundai Verna

pirelli is some 10k i suppose. Well it depends sandy if you have lots of high speed driving go in for some tires that have good grip and are sports oriented, they help a long way like for me these tires offer superb grips in rains, though i don't know of michellin.
otherwise if you just cruise at low speeds or city limits then go for a touring oriented tires they will be silent and ease up on fuel expenses

Re: Life with the All New Hyundai Verna

i was in for a bomb today. Called the mechanic to ask what was the progress on my car. He told me that they have changed NOTHING in my car. They have just lubricated nuts and bushes of axel. I asked why did it take them 5 days to do this. And his answer was that hyundai does not allow to dismantle parts in new cars. They need a permission from hyundai engineers and bla bla bla...
I totally disappointed with this. first comes the defect in a new car and then this is what hyundai does to rectify it.
They havent still returned me the car. They said they to road test it. Lets see what are the results.

Re: Life with the All New Hyundai Verna

I went to collect the car today and  was my reaction. 1st thing i noticed was a bad scrapping the front bumper. The whole front bumper had scrapped badly some where. I lost my very easy going character and blasted at them for doing this. they accepted their mistake at my first word and said they will get it repainted and apologized as well. secondly the car was washed pathetically. all grease marks inside and outside i could see all spots and dirt still sticking. This was a case with only my car. All the other cars that were for delivery after service were washed pretty well and looking good.
About the repair, they have lubricated some bolts and bushes in the axel as advised by hyundai. And i couldnt notice any noise while testing. I asked why are they so reluctant to change the parts. The answer was there wasnt any need. It was a simple issue and could be sorted easily.
I any how told them that what they have done is temporary and not satisfying at all.
They told me that they will change the part if the problem creeps in next time.
I have not still got my car. They told me they will give back the car after three days.
Guys please give me the mail ID of hyundai on which i can lodge a complaint ?

Re: Life with the All New Hyundai Verna

go to the hyundai india website and customer care section and fill out the form, they respond faster from there and take dealership complaints seriously.

Are they saying after three days so that they re-paint the bumper? then its fine it takes a day to paint then they allow it to dry and proceed with the finishing. The lubrication and re-torquing is their default problem solving next time you go they will do the same and then finally when you sit on their head or speak to a higher up there then they will do it.The same used to happen to me before i knew the warranty guy.

Re: Life with the All New Hyundai Verna

I had sent them a complaint 2 days back. But did not receive any reply. I called the customer care number and complained. They took my complaint and asked whether i feel its a dealer mistake or manufacturing defect. I told them its obviously a manufacturing defect as suspension making noise in a new car is unacceptable . I was told i will be called from them the suitable branch within next 48 hours. Lets see what happens.
And yes nickandre, they are repainting the bumper.

Re: Life with the All New Hyundai Verna

These fools need to be whacked they never take care of the car. My seats have some grease marks as well as the rear door panel, doesn't go away.
before you take your car go in for another test drive to make sure everything is to your satisfaction, if the unfortunate happens again or you want to check why you have such low fe please go to another service centre.

Re: Life with the All New Hyundai Verna

FE seems to be a default problem. I dont think they can solve it. Because according to their diagnostics the engine is perfect in all parameters. I got a call from the service manager asking why i was dissatisfied with the repair. I told him i expected them to replace the part for a car thats under warranty. He was like '' this is what we can do. We did not get any directions from hyundai to replace the part. The noise is not there now. so the problem is solved''.
i asked him why were the rear wheels touching mud guard. For this he told me all verna's have this problem. I asked do i have to live with it then and he simply said '' yes saaar''.
i told him other vernas in the serive centre had no scrapping marks on the mud guard then why is it there in my car.
He said all vernas have this problem and they have complained about this to hyundai R and D. They cant do anything till they get a direction from hyundai about what has to be replaced. He told me R and D is going on and in a month or so they will change the rear suspension for all vernas.

this marks my 100th post [cry]
