This is my first post in TAI[:)], and I take this opportunity to congratulate @ dbarma sir for your awesome new verna fluidic. Its really looking stunning from every possible angle. In a couple of months we are also planning to buy verna fluidic vtvt sx. Having a sedan is my dream from long tym nd that too a car like verna with so many features will be an amazing possession.

When I saw your post today, I was pleasantly surprised to notice the up gradations like new projector head lamp, alloy wheels, etc. The projector lamp really caught my attention nd surely it caught others as well. But its only provided for sx(o) nd we are planning to buy sx model considering our budget for which I m contented apart from the head lamps.

Here comes the question. As I m really fascinated towards the projected lamps, a)Can I purchase after market projector lamps?
b) if yes, how much it will approximately cost?
c) changing the stock headlamps will be fine or will it void the warranty?

waiting for advise...

Welcome to TAI Mr. Vivek [:)] sir.
Yes Fluidic Verna really look awesome from most of the angles. Its a great car with loads of features and with projects and LEDs one cant pass by without having a look on her.

Few suggestions i would like to give: test drive the vehicle, ask as much as questions to clear up any doubts, do research on it before pin pointing your selection. This is where automotive forum like TAI comes handy.

Q. Can I purchase after market projector lamps?
A. Yes you can. Ask those ASS technicians if they have knowledge about it else you will get plenty (if not) online.

Q. If yes, how much it will approximately cost?
A. Depends on the design and quality. Have a look on this website.

Q. Changing the stock headlamps will be fine or will it void the warranty?
A. Hyundai will not take any responsibility for after market products. But see whether if those guys from whom you purchased the headlights provide warranty or not. Get fitted in ASS. While fitting they will secure the lines so that in future if any problem arise other components wont be effected and your warranty wont be void.
Today am going to ASS to fit new fog lights with DRL (After market product - from Korea). I will post pictures lately.

Vivek take time to introduce your self on Introduction section in this forum.

Mr, Vivek my strongly advice for you is to get SX(O), I too purchase a vtvt sx but for the extended cost what extra features you will get, you cant get those from aftermarket with the accurate OE fittings and looks, like the leather seat cover, steering cover etc.

I too was thinking about the budget where SX(O) will increase around 80k but you’re taking the car for once, if you are taking it on loan then the extra 80K will hardly increase few hundred rupees on your EMI.

Aftermarket stuff will never be accurate like the OEM, yea they will looks almost same. Also like getting the aftermarket or OEM projectors would cost you 25k-40k, so why not paying few more for all other extra OEM fitted and stock features?

Went to ASS for checking the speed sensing auto door lock and came with disappointment.
G Scan diagnostic shows that this function is 'DISABLED' then there is a drop down selection: 15km/h & 40km/h but upon selecting anyone of these option a notice pops up saying: this option is not available in this vehicle. Now my question is if its not there then why hyundai user manual (printed sept 2013) page 6/15 talks about it?

I wrote an email to them, lets see what they have to say about it [anger]

I think it’s a mistake from Hyundai while manufacturing the car. If they have removed this feature on the upgraded model then there have no way to show the option in Gscan or hardware. AFAIK it require a code braked Gscan tool or something like that to overwrite Hyundai locked setting and all ASS don’t have that.

I was expecting to ask that to enable this during my 1st servicing but this wont work.

Definitely I'll follow your advise sir regarding TD, and yes TAI is a great website with so many enthusiasts where we can get plenty of info.[:)]

Thanks for the guidance sir. well after reading your post sx(o) is really tempting me but as I am a doctor and preparing for my pg studies so right now I am not earning[;)] and I hv to convince my dad to shell another 80k which will be daunting task[surprise], lets see what happens.

I too was thinking about the budget where SX(O) will increase around 80k but you’re taking the car for once, if you are taking it on loan then the extra 80K will hardly increase few hundred rupees on your EMI.

No sir its not loan that's why we have a tight budget.

regarding after market stuff, deep inside heart I also know that it won't be that perfect and moreover its quite costly also. I'll give a serious consideration to your suggestion and act accordingly.

Thanks for your valuable advise sir

This is manufacturing fault. I will suggest you escalate the matter to whatever level you can to Hyundai (don't depend on the dealer). Threaten them to replace the car or consumer forums, etc...I am sure they will rectify it. The feature is present, i guess some software glitch.

a+b) There are two ways of adding a projector head lamp on a Verna.
1. Open up the glass and reflector joint, add a projector-bulb setup, join it back again.
Pros: Costs 13k+, hid fitment with angel eyes(read: fantastic light), DRLs are fit the same way.
Cons: Sometimes the pojector dont get aligned properly. It has to be open again to be aligned. Sometimes the rejoint is not solid so there are chances of water getting in.
2. The ready made pieces ( the last piece in dbarma's link) cost around 28k. There have 2 pairs of projector lamps on each side (4 in total) and include a DRL aswell. Inner ones are halogen dippers, outers are hid headers. The original headlamp setup is removed.
Pros: Much better look. This setup is going to get a lot of attention.
Cons: Bit expensive at 28k. What to do with original set ? [cry]
c) Both setups come with a years warranty i think. Best to confirm this again. Since you are tampering with the origianl equipment, company wont cover that particular part.

All HIDs mentioned here are 6000k.

I was also a bit confused about the value worth for the extra equipment in the SX(O), so i did a little RnD for after market products.
I have not asked about the key less system yet.
As for the upholstery, good choices would cost around 10k while the better ones would be around 20k. There are always cheaper and more costlier options as well.

Personally, I am going for the SX then customize it a bit every once in a while. I would like to reduce the loan amount as much as possible.

See I too was thinking for SX(O) before taking the car but in my time there was only difference below stuff:
6 airbags, start button, key less entry, Leather seat covers, speed sensing auto door lock.

These things were not that necessary for me and those would cost me 80k up as I too tried to pay as much as possible from my pocket. And lastly I went for SX.

But not the situation is different, you wont get the projectors without SX(O), that’s why I suggested. You can go for SX, it has all necessary features and as per me projectors are not that necessary or worthful. So far with my car I never get any visibility issue with the headlight and foglight on, its perfect.

@vivek1306 At the end of the days it is you who will be drive the car. There will be always pros & cons, whether its top model or the base but what so ever the situation may be do not stretch your budget too much that later suffer from regression and you will not have peace while driving your baby.

Well Dr. Vivek since you are preparing for PG why dont you wait until you get the chance (I wish you will). By than you will have many options for your disposal. For now concentrate on your preparation cause i am also preparing for it. You said you are not earning, when you buy such a luxury car you will be tempted and will search for an excuse to take her out and of course you have to maintain and feed her well. I am working as an MO under ONGC thats how am bit relaxed. Take time and think about it, as you are investing huge amount.

In case i be any help dont hesitate to contact me.

Yea dbarma is right, you can wait. However it depends on people. The car is so mouthwatering no one can stop themselves, even I had no reason to take a car, we had one and it well condition but still I took this one.

When you will start earning get a best car, Honda or Toyota. Hyundai makes best design but cheap cars. Beside the others facing issues, today I was fixing a light scratches by polishing machine and I didn’t do it very hard but at one very small place (door edge) it remove the top paint and the primer quote appeared. I was surprised as it’s a car, not bike. The paint quality and thickness is very very poor.
