so with what you stated that the mid shows figures with an error of 1.5 -2km/l which makes it that you received 20km/l on that mileage drive. How many kms does one tank full last.
Can we exchange engines please[glasses] my mid shows 9 in city and on highways 22 but i get max 14 in reality.[cry]

The last time i filled my tank say 20 liters, with full load 4 people and boot loaded fully i made 340 kms, reserve to reserve calculated [;)] . Nick share your gear shifting speeds and more share more on your driving style , may be we can find a solution[:)] . I should say, It all depends on the driving style(My brother did the same 340 kms with fe hovering at 13-13.5km/l in my verna :suspect:)

well i drive sedately till i see open stretches and the floor it. I usually change the gears at 2500 in city on highways between 3500-6500 rpm., my dad doesn't go to those rpms but he however gets lower fe then me haha. Btw i am at 42k km on the odo, due for an oil change in 3000km.

Ha ha you're verna is tuned to your style than youre dad's style , and 3500-6000 rpm [shock] my avg rpm in highways would be 2.5k [lol] . I floor that hard when someone messes with me and i just zoom past them. Good going on the odo [cheers].

well i was talking about doing a manual calculation and getting your fe figures, the mid is highly unreliable in any car and shows sky high figures when the car was just tanked up and driven on open roads.
^ Totally agree.
Had seen mileage of 16/17 right after filling up the car, whereas it was around13 when I had entered the pump.

@pradeep you should make a 5-10 mins video of mileage run for us poor souls :lol!:

use an application called fuel log. It will do a proper calculation of your fe. You need to fill in the km at time of filling with the litres. This is a very accurate way. Use the app and then let us know what fe you get.

Hi All,

Putting up a post after such a long time,

See FE is directly related to the driving style, traffic conditions, payload and many other factors like tyres used, service history, engine oil quality, air filter cleanliness, etc.

One fine day from Gurgaon Manesar toll booth to Safdarjung Hospital area I did a mileage run for around 32 kms or so with following parameters;
1.) Payload: Me (92kgs) plus laptop bag and few other lighter things
2.) AC: Half Ac and Half NON AC
3.) Tyres: 205/55/R16 Yokohama avs db 550
4.) Traffic: Moderate to light
5.) Average Speed: Between 70 to 75 in 5th or 6th gear

So with these parameters I reset the MID FE to zero at the toll and drove my car with in the specified speeds and I got around 26 to 27 KMPL for the first 16 kms with AC on than I realized I should put off all the electronic devices and AC to get more mileage and voila how much I have got it was around 32 KMPL for the entire stretch of 32 kms which also includes a bit of traffic and RTR marg and few red lights.

My car MID is around 95% correct in providing FE figures as I compared it with tankful to tankful method at number of times.

Whereas on other side I get a measly 16KMPL with AC on a daily basis from Safdarjung to Sec 53 Gurgaon route in peak hours.

So if driven well vehicles can give you decent mileage.
Note: I used to get around 17-18 KMPL in my Aria on NH 8 stretch from Delhi to Neemrana and back.

HI all, I'm using 2014 Hyundai verna Fluidic 1.6 SX (o) Diesel Variant. My car came with projector headlamps. All these 3 years I managed with this worst headlamps as I don't drive much in evenings. Now that I started driving in Nights in highways i couldn't drive at all with this poor light quality of the projectors lamps. It has very poor brightness. And if i drive in rain the visibility is absolute zero and I almost made an accident. My query is
1. Can I improve the brightness of existing Projector lamp
2. If I want to change this projector lamp which one should I opt for?

Unfortunately its not working for me and i am unable to manage time to visit ASS for checkup.

About the headlights?? actually i am not happy with the light for the fact that its halogen, yellow light (3000K probably) so if someone, car or bike comes with high beam i am blinded though i have projectors in my arsenal [confused] Then i'v to flickr my beam but if i am on high the opposite party reacts coz protectors are sharp but yellow. Then i ordered osram night breaker plus (probably more or at least 3500K temp) and yet to receive the package, lets see how it performs else i will think for hids.

Verna received upgrades with led and projectors coz its the best selling sedan in c class, HIDs will be little too much for hyundai's to offer in this class. Elantra in that case should also receive projectors at least where sonata is equipped with xenon (one of my fren told me).

Regards
dev
You have said that you have directly changed bulbs without HID kit. how was the output? I'm having October 2014 model SX o
