@ dbarma - 15kmpl [surprise] did you check with tankful method or figures from MID ?
I get around 10 kmpl in summers.

I too get the same noise in my verna , in my i10 as well. I think it has something to do with steering rattle issue. (Although my i10 makes more noise than my verna)

@allhyundaicars:

[:D] MID reads in between 14-15.5kmpl with AC and tankful method gives 14.67kmpl. Almost all the time my wife is with me, so (70+52)kg and 64km round trip to my farm. But when there are 4/5 person then it drops to 13-14kmpl. Am really happy with the mileage.

So did you rectified the rattling issue?

That's great fe.

Anyways like you said in my verna as well the sound comes and go. My car is out of warranty but you can take your car to sc and get it checked. Mine atarted coming after warranty finished. Sigh.

Anyways for my i10 adviser told me to change the steering rack which will cost 7k [surprise]

Well i have the steering rattle as well since the 4/5th month of ownership they accepted the noise was there few months back and greased the mdps. It went away, things were all good then Bam I noticed its Back and its more awful, looks like its time to get a new steering rack, I'm on extended warranty Yay!
19km/l was that on the mid? that's outrageous you crossed the ARAI fe as well
I managed to squeeze out 14 max with ac on full time and lots of red lining on the highway other then that my city fe now hovers at 9-10 and combined is 11km/l
Odo at 41k km

did you fill petrol or reset the mid before you started on the highway? If so the mid stays up on high numbers even though the car is not putting out that fe. Do a tank to tank count, My mid showed 21 but i got 14 on my goa trip[lol]

My MID during the trip[:D] . It had a drop to 21 when the A.c was switched on and to 19-20 when cruising at 130-140 .
 I still cant believe such a figure can be extracted from this lovely car.
I drove for 60KM's continuos [around 25 in city and remaining on Pune-Banglore highway] at around 2k rpm and could manage only 14.7 max :lol!:

I wonder [lol] . BTW that was just a mileage run , i get no more than 13.5-14.5 in city with ac on.
Pradeep how come your actual and MID figures has such an big variance. More or less the MID shows double.

well i was talking about doing a manual calculation and getting your fe figures, the mid is highly unreliable in any car and shows sky high figures when the car was just tanked up and driven on open roads.
When you talk about this, I was Driving PKK's EcoSport from Chennai to Vellore for our Yelagiri Meet. We had reached vellore and were searching for AppU to join us. So I was driving very slowly and the MID shows 30 or something. I was driving in 20 to 30 KM speed.

Actually the error hovers around 1.5-2 km between the MID fe and the calculated fe , provided :

1. The car must run at least 30kms for the instantaneous fe to settle down which occurs during the top up.

2. Resetting the whole MID must be done before a top up else it considers the previous run and gives wrong fe in MID.

@sethu sir : The pic that i have posted was taken on a mileage run under certain conditions but in a normal run with all hard accelerations i get the figures above in city. The MID shows more or less the avg fe with considerable amount of error, its always good to calculate one's fe manually.[:)]
