@TechGuy: Fantastic throw and cutoff, i just love it. My projector has similar (if not close) cutoff and bit lesser throw. Sometime i cant appreciate when opposite driver throws me but i have to admit that my light is sharper and stronger than reflectors coz when i go high beam at far distance they ask politely [:)] then i dim. Sometime i off my headlights (fog on) when am on slop and opposite driver is climbing.

How about Philips HB3 9005 HID conversion kit I read user reviews on it and they say its just plug n play with integrated relay, they also say that this bulb is designed for halogen projector replacement. Any idea where can i get it online in India?

@Myth: Nice to hear that your thinking for Verna. Do post your experiences after TD. Will love to hear your first impression.

@vishnu: Thanks for sharing this link, i didnt know about this site.

@TechGuy: Also check this like for headlights and taillights retrofit for fluidic verna.

Any member of TAI who owns Fluidic Verna is getting great mileage above 17KM/L please share. I am overwhelmed by what i got [glasses].

Hmmm.. But for the philips kit. I would like to tell u that in the auto world so huge.. Fake items are also in large no. and specialy fake china made philips kit has virus over the web.
There is no original philips kit you can get online..
But orignal philips lighting stores are available in india in bunch which sell genuine germany made kits.
You can visit www.lighting. philips .com/.../
automotive
To locate the store in your city.
Original philips kits costs a bomb on pocket still u check the store and do inform us about the price.

Thanks for the link vishnu. Lot of items and quite easy to search based on the car.

Is the projector headlamp on the SX(O) visibly better than the normal one ? ( If you flick it a few times, does the guy coming from front [cry] ?)
Will replacing the stock bulb with something else effect the company warranty ?
If you replace your stock bulbs with those Philip ones, please share your review and a few pics please. I am feeling more inclined to have headlamp like the skoda superb with minimal change to the existing hardware.

TD was great. Only the SX vtvt was available for TD. There was a little traffic but whenever I saw a little space to overtake, the Verna's pickup didnt disappoint nor did the braking. The steering felt a bit stiff (as compared to my old Zen), but gear shift was smooth. The interior and exterior of the car exudes quality. Personally, I cant wait to buy the car and take it out on the highway [evil]. There was also the latest SX(O) (red) on display. The projector lights look really good. I prefer the single line DRLs instead of the dotted ones, but this will do. Due to the 'smart key', there no keys nor are there any key slots anywhere in the car. Just button on the key-remote and a 'start/stop engine' button beside the steering. Boot is also remotely operable. Leather seat covers seem good but I am not sure how good they are exactly.

Right now, I am a bit confused between the SX and the SX(O). There is a 90k difference between the two variants. I am not able to decide whether the accessories are worth the extra cash. I can get the same fitments outside at a lower rate but I might not get the same finishing.

@dbarma : In your quote, mention the VTVT option or else you will be getting responses from diesel fans as well. 17kmpl isnt a lot for diesel engines.

Dear frens, kindly check this fitting/accessory marked with red circle in this photo copied from hyundai official website. Did anyone got it fitted? I like it.
What is it exactly ? Is the factory fitted or an after market accessories ?
I have seen it on a few cars but didnt think too much on it.

Definitely better than the conventional halogen 55 wattage reflectors.

First of all i will replace the stock fitting with Osram night breaker of same wattage and will see how it performs as i'v already ordered from ebay and yet to receive. If am not satisfied then i will replace them with Philips xenon 5000/6000K conversion kit of 35 wattage. I will definitely post photos of it - dont worry :-)

Verna pickup is just awesome but sometime i feel am not getting the kick specially when i slow -> shift down to 2nd -> 3rd gear -> accelerate, it lags but if i accelerate slowly on third then paddle hard it kicks suddenly. But while going up i.e. 1st -> 2nd -> 3rd and paddle hard it kicks instantly. Probably someone who has knowledge about how the engine works and being feeded will be able to explain it better. So am leaving it here for them.

About braking: Here i am little bit disappointed. When am cruising e.g. 90/100kmpl and brake, it seems like she isnt obeying my command, so i have to press harder then gently it will slow down and stop. Its not so sharp or quick. Probably as my vehicle is new it needs time. So, i will keep my disappointment aside for the time being and will judge after first servicing.

Its not DRL but a parking light. When you turn the headlights on its really hard to appreciate the LEDs :-( but it looks really kool when you turn it on at evening. People sometime slow down to admire her beauty. I like the dotted LEDs rather than a single line. About the leather upholstery? you can sleep ghoda bechkey. I teared all the plastic covers from the seats next day it self to expose the beauty of leather.

This is solemnly your decision. When you buy the top you have the top, when you dont you dont.
Company fit is company fit and retro is retro. OEM materials are best designed to serve its purpose so to serve us better. They are designed and tested by hard working engineers and approved by experts. On the other hand market fittings are reversed engineered to cut down the cost and also for easy profit, hence they are quality compromised but there are reputed brands who competes with stocks.

Ahh!! thanks Myth.... how did i forgot to mention it? but if i edit it now this conversation will be meaningless. Since this ownership review is about VTVT i hope they wont be mislead by my mistake ;-)

I saw this fitting in official hyundai website but not in real car. So, since its there, there must be and i feel its a good thing to have it just to add some more protection to the bumpers and definitely it adds some more look to it - is not it??

Are Osram Night Breaker the same as these Philips Diamond Vision 5000k H4 Headlight ? Just bulbs and no ballast and wiring kit. I had the latter bulbs and they were so disappointing that I removed them that day itself. Got myself a pair of P8 6000k HID kit. Its great in city limits and killer on the highway.

I had the same feeling during the TD. There is a slight lag on a gear with low rpm. The kicks comes in when you keep the rpm's high. Somehow this lag is not so obvious in the Honda City.

I think this is the ABS acting. Try a car with no ABS and you will find the car deceleration is proportionate to the braking applied. In case of ABS enabled cars, the system controls the braking. So, even if you apply the brakes fully, the wheels may not lock.

@Myth
Actually i dont know the kelvin reading of Osram Night Breaker but i have seen that this bulb is often compared with philips x-treme vision which reads 3000K if am correct. Osram Night Breaker has thin bluish layers on top and bottom end so may be kelvin is bit higher and they also claim 35 meters of extra penetration than stock bulbs. here is the link

I guess you are right about ABS. Without ABS probably the vehicle will skid.

Congratz dbarma for your new Fluidic verna.. How about the handling on the new verna at higher speeds around 100+ 140+ ?
Welcome to TAI Jayess, Thanks for your kind words.

I touched 100kmpl only once and found that steering doesnt boost confidence. It has a feeling of being disconnected, i mean she dont respond instantaneously. Seems like she thinks before reacting but response at low speed is just wonderful.

Wish you a very joyful journey. Drive safe [drive].

With regards
Dev

I never noticed this before in Hyundai website. It’s a front diffuser, this will save the pumper from underbody scratch, but its only for the center not for the sides, it would be good if its cover the full bumper width. But still I like this and if any one got this please share details with price. Thanks

Ok Dev. I think then its same as before, nothing has been tuned/upgraded on the soft suspension and light steering which is a great drawback for high speed driving. Its like the engine has great power to go but can't explore it because of its handling problem.

Since the steering is lifeless its bit scary while taking corners and sharp cuts at high speed. Reg braking, it doesn't give much confidence esp on emergency braking.

Jay

Went for ~400km drive yesterday. Semi hilly and bad road. Average mileage 12.7kmpl.

Issues:
From day before i can hear a weird Ssssss......... sound somewhere from the middle of rear wheels when i start the engine. Sound is only audible where am out of the car. Noise just equal to engine sound. Yesterday i checked the noise wherever i stop the car and its there. But sometime it disappears - i thought i didnt hear this ssssss...... sound before.

Car wobbles toooooo much in bumpy roads and there were instances where the front and rear bumper brushed, hit the road and seems like tire is hitting the bumper + thud sound both front and rear.

DOD crossed 940KM and nearing for 1st service. Car is cover with a blanket of dust, will wash now.

Strange to know your car wobbles. I have the new version of Verna and have driven at max speed of 170 kmph and felt car to be solid stable. Except instance of wobbling is there where the road is bit uneven and I am at above 100 kmph. Thud sounds only comes if I drive over bumps or potholes above 40kmph speed. I think that's normal for any car.

As far steering is concerned. I find it to be more than adequately tight. Not sure where you are having lifeless feel of the steering.

For brakes, Any car with ABS will always makes us feel it hollow and wont boost confidence as far as a non ABS car is concerned. But the car stops exactly the spot you wanted.

For those getting that thud sound from the front tyres, check your tyre pressures. I read that this sound doesnt happen if the tyre pressure is lowered. 32-33psi seem to be the optimal values.

@Myth, after N2 injection i checked the pressure and its showing 33 psi for all the 4 tires. i think i'v to move my car like tortoise in potholes but its ok. Today i washed the car after long journey and now looking bright, shinny :-)
