Yes. Even though I own Xcent, but the engine is same 1.2L unit. So yes, to touch 100+, we need to cross ~3.5k mark and it surely does look stressed. But again, it will climb speeds till 140 before it runs out of breath. So I always stick to 90 km/h which put's rpm around 3k and increase speed when overtake. Else, you have to keep it in 110+ consistently and push till 140 to overtake! You have to learn to live with the limitation. [:D]
thanks for the input ! [:)]
Slowly all limitations are presenting themselves and i am learning how to address them. I knew engine would be stressed out above 100 but its a different feeling altogether to witness that in your own car [roll]

I don't know but maybe it's how hyundai tunes their engine. I have observed that at same speeds the rpm in both my i10(1.2) and the verna(1.6 petrol) is the same. (I guess I checked at
70kmph)

Yeah. It should be hard to digest, but we are not living in US, where we can plethora of options to choose from. 1.5L engines are not available below 10L AFAIK!

But again, how often we push it past 100+! I got used to it now, so for my sedate driving, 1.2L will be more than enough and with such speed, I am getting decent 16-18 km/l in highways! Yay!

nice mileage figure [:)]
1.5L does sound good but is only available above 10 lakhs.
And yes, not many times do we go above 100. Ride is very comfortable in the car though !!!

Yeah. Although there are lot of 1.5L engines under 10L, but top end will always shoot out of the 10L! Like City,Vento,Rapid,Scala. Only worthy 1.5L under 10L is Ford Classic! Anyways, let's not go off-topic!

Firstly Congratulations on i20, you'll have great time with it.
Secondly, I see that you're current ride is Swift. So, the cons of Swift are the pros in i20 while the pros in Swift are the cons in i20. The 2 things which you'll feel huge difference between the two is Dynamics & Powertrain.
The Swift despite being old car does have a better engine be it the old 1.3 G Series or the advanced 1.2 K series. Be it performance or Efficiency, those 2 engines are miles ahead compared to the 1.2 Kappa in the i20. Then there is the dynamics, which includes mainly 4 things(Steering Feel, Grip, Body Control, Fun To Drive Factor). Here the Swift trumps the i20 easily. These 2 things are the biggest weakness I have found in i20. I too had a Swift and my bro has a Elite i20 which was purchased in Jan 2015. After driving it, it feels behind in these departments which had impressed me in my Swift which was there with me for 7 years. Apart from that, car is good in all areas.

Thanks for sharing your experience and comparison of swift and elite i20. What you said is exactly the same I am thinking and expecting. I always have a feeling that the Elite I20 won't be a replacement for Swift. Being a user of Swift for the last 7.5 years I really going to miss the reliability, dynamics, fun to drive and easy to maintenance feature of Swift. When I planned to change the current Car my first choice was a Sedan and that too was Swift Dzire, but the look and feel of the new model is almost resembles the Old ambassador Car. When I saw the New Elite I20 I am totally enticed by the look & feel and the list of features offered.
I am justifying the Selection of Elite I20 by the following:-
1. Being a user of Maruti Suzuki Vehicles for the last 10 Years and now its time to have a change.
2. Elite I20 Model is the latest fluid design
3. Fresh look and not common in roads like swift
4. Hyundai Service Center is near (within 1 Km) to my Home.

The Car is in transit now and I almost completed the paper works before delivery.
Will update the status soon.

I am looking to change my Cabin light, Number plate Light and Rare parking light with white LED lights.
Is there any Elite i20 owner who already changed these lights in to LED?

I saw many LED bulb is avilable in online websites like ebay or in Amazon, but not sure which will be the correct LED for my requirement. I am not sure about the power/ Watt etc. for these electrical bulbs/LED.

Any help will be appreciated.

Good news! It looks like Hyundai have plans to launch 6-speed AT in Elite i20(and not in Active variant!). Yay! Finally some worthy contender for Polo DSG!

Although I don't have big trust for the source, but still, the rumor sounds good. And if offered, I am sure I will be one of the customer for Diesel AT of this little gem!

Source : Exclusive: Hyundai to launch Elite i20 AT in Diesel soon

Hyundai has a First Mover advantage, but it remains to be seen if Hyundai offers that 6 speed gearbox in i20. The fact remains that the Verna didn't get it after its rivals were using more advanced gearbox. While the Elantra is premium end and is offered with 6 Speed AT. Even the petrol i20 with Automatic had a 4 speed one sometime in 2009-2011. So I don't believe the source until more auto blogs/websites confirm this rumour. Also, if you notice, the source here"Gaadiwaadi" always used to have spy shots of new car/variant. Here they don't have any, so its either the i20 Automatic in Petrol avatar or the Diesel i20 with mostly AMT which Hyundai had planned for their cars.
Incase, Hyundai launches the i20 Diesel AT, it will be at least 80-90k more then manual version, which in turn will make the already expensive car more expensive. This might be the very reason why Volkswagen haven't introduced the DSG in Polo Diesel.

and I believe they can add 6 speed to the elite i20. no one says to make good changes to top end cars first then carry down the changes to lower end.

and yes it's just speculation like you said they are more into getting spy images. but they can gain this type of knowledge from their sources.

no one would create a hype like this without proper evidence, if they did then obviously their credibility will go down.

Polo Gt tdi is 8.5 lakhs whereas i20 Asta is 8 lakhs. the site says around 70k and even if you say 80-90k more premium then everyone will happily shell it out. more features plus an automatic in just 20-30k premium.

Correct. But again, we might hold our thoughts, because it is just a rumor. But on bright side, if it is true, then this will be a deal breaker for them. But I heavily doubt that Hyundai will bring their 6-speed AT to i20. But considering that Elite is a doing great, it should make sense for Hyundai. If it becomes hit, then they might bring it to Verna too. But it is all in the air as of now. Let's wait and see!
