Re: DRACO - Mahindra XUV 5OO-W8: Ownership Review

Well it's time for first upgrade for DRACO and that will be the Audio system upgrade for our Dragon.

Requirements:
1. Head Unit will remain the same.
2. Don't want to put a bass tube.
3. Will be changing the speakers only, probably will go with a component system and an AMP.

Now just a quick question for the XUV owners and other members as well, If i am not wrong "XUV comes with a Kenwood HU", right?
I heard its from Nippon but I can be wrong , maybe iron rock or other xuv owners can tell us .

1. Kicker Rs/- 6000 (set of two) - 180 watts per speaker
2. Rockford Rs/- 6200 (But for Rockford the guy said we would need to put Bass Tube)
3. Infiniti Rs/- 5800
4. JBL Rs/- 5000 approx

Amplifier
1. Kenwood Rs/- 5500
2. Sound Barrier Rs/- 4000
3. JBL Rs/- 3500

RC Converter Rs/- 350

Wiring

They have so many different kind of wirings costing
Rs/- 2500

Re: DRACO - Mahindra XUV 5OO-W8: Ownership Review

Well, we got a surprise visit from the Mahindra Dealer today from where we had bought our XUV.

And they came by to ask us if the car was doing good and gave us a Christmas Cake as a Christmas and a new year gift.

They came in a White XUV, gave the cake and took some pictures.

Good move by Mahindra, that's part of a good customer service. [clap]

^^ Thats a nice touch, The man behind the XUV RM concept is always coming up with something new to keep the customer connect.

Regarding HU its a Nippon Unit and as far as choice of speakers et all is concerned i will use a hindi proverb to describe myself "Kaala akshar bhais barabar" (Apologise i couldnt find anything in English to describe myself better in this aspect !) - I have very limited view of the ICE world, am sure plenty of ICE experts around who can help, suggest you start a new thread on the XUV ICEing part.

Don't worry buddy actually i just wanted to confirm the manufacturer of the HU from you because i remember you telling me once before that you not that techi guy with speakers and all.

Will start a new thread regarding the same as it might help other XUV owners as well. Thanks

Re: DRACO - Mahindra XUV 5OO-W8: Ownership Review

Finally our DRACO got its second break through and has covered 985 kms. A week back it had only som 370 kms but it made a trip to Delhi as my dad had some work and by the time they returned back it had covered 985 kms.

Though round trip to Delhi is around 340 kms from our place but DRACO covered almost 615 kms out of which around 275 kms were drove in and around Delhi.

So far there have been no niggles and no complaints from my parents or brother regarding anything.
Comfort, ride quality, pickup, gear changing, lane cutting - Overall everyone is happy with all the mentioned things.

Posting few pics as well.

Looks like you bought it today. well maintained car.
Thanks buddy[:)]

It's always washed after a trip, polished and then DRACO rests awaiting the next trip in the garage.[;)]

And once or twice a week it is wiped with cloth even though we don't use it.

@Singh:
The car is looking great but you haven't yet removed the plastic covers till date.
For me 'panni faad abhiyaan(plastic cover tearing movement)' is amongst the very first tasks to be done on a new car!!
