AFAIK, Daimler trucks have a wide range which is enough to cater to the needs of Indian markets, guess its tippers and tractor units this time. Seems like 350Z has a busy month ahead, all the best [thumbsup]

Scania will showcase the following range of all-new trucks as well as introduce fleet management services for the Indian commercial sector at this Auto Expo.
Scania R 500 6x4 features the first ever V8 engine on the Indian roads, offering a high, low-speed torque rating, essential for super over-dimensional cargo (ODC) transport. The Scania V8 engines advance into the future with excellent driveability, impressive operating economy and sheer driving pleasure. These trucks are built to deliver the goods under the toughest conditions.

Scania P 410 8x4, is equipped with Scania Opticruise, a fully automated gear-changing system for best fuel efficiency and ease of driving. It is fitted with a completely new 20 cum U-shaped rock body developed by one of the world’s leading producer of high strength steel, SSAB. The complete tipper is significantly lower in weight than current offerings on the market, and with the increased load carrying capacity the customer gets a higher productivity and better total operating economy.

Scania G 410 6x2 is the most recent addition to Scania’s on road range in India, and with superior uptime, fuel economy and driver comfort, it is set to completely redefine haulage operations. The tractor is equipped with Scania Opticruise, which is an automated gear changing system for manual gearboxes. The system always chooses the most suitable gear in each situation, resulting in lower fuel consumption and improved drivability.

Scania Metrolink 13.7 metre 49 seater luxury intercity coach has the Scania 13-litre 360 hp Euro 3 engine, an 8-speed gearbox with Scania Opticruise automated gear changing. The third axle is hydraulically steered for easy maneuvering. Assisted by Scania Opticruise, the driver can concentrate on traffic and passenger comfort - a major safety benefit.

Scania products and services are known for their outstanding fuel economy and high uptime, and low operating costs. The company is also well known the world over for innovative and sustainable transport solutions. The vehicles that are to be displayed at the expo are completely in line with Scania's mission to be a trusted partner for the transportation industry in India. The world-renowned Scania vehicles have exceptional qualities, safety features, delivering high torque from low revs, brisk acceleration and outstanding performance, combined with excellent fuel economy and lesser impact on the environment.

Re: Upcoming Commercial Vehicles in India

India made FUSO Trucks have now rolled out in Tanzania.

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Pvt. Ltd. (DICV), a 100% wholly owned subsidiary of Daimler AG, Stuttgart, Germany along with Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation, Japan (MFTBC), a Daimler Company, launched its robust DICV-made trucks in Tanzania, making it the 4th market since the start of Export in May 2013. As a part of the first 15 export markets for DICV under the new Asia Business Model, the Tanzanian market is a key market in Africa. The trucks will be sold through the exclusive dealer, Diamond Motors Limited, in Tanzania. Besides Tanzania, these trucks have already reached the markets of Sri Lanka, Kenya and Zambia with more markets to follow in Africa and Asia.

The FUSO truck range manufactured at DICV‘s Oragadam plant comprise 5 models spanning Medium/Heavy-duty (25 – 49 tonnes referred to as 'FJ', 'FO' & 'FZ') and Light/Medium-duty (9 – 16 tonnes referred to as 'FA' & 'FI'). The robust, fuel-efficient trucks, developed to meet the ever demanding customer expectations in the growth markets, reinforce FUSO’s leading presence in Africa. Rigorous testing has been conducted under most strenuous driving conditions to ensure maximum reliability of the trucks.

FUSO is showing strong growth in Africa having presence in over 35 markets, and almost doubling sales in the first two months of 2014 to 1060 units from 580 units in the same period of 2013. With the addition of this new range of trucks into its product portfolio, FUSO offers its customers a wider choice of Trucks that are robust, reliable and fuel efficient.

With a clear view on the growth potential in Africa, FUSO is in preparation to continuously add further markets to its strong market presence. Daimler Trucks Asia expects to gain additional growth momentum in the future markets on top of the current existing markets from its new Asia Business Model introduced in 2013. The new business model creates synergies by bundling the strengths of the Japan-based Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corp. (MFTBC) and Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) under the Umbrella of Daimler Trucks Asia.

Mr. Sivakumar V, Sales Director, Scania Commercial Vehicles India, Mr. Staffan Arvas, Strategist, Brand & Marketing Communications, Scania CV AB and Mr. Agy George from Aeon Connect Travels were part of the occasion. This showcases the strength, robustness and quality of Scania’s offerings and commitment to the customers of India. Great fuel economy, high reliability and uptime as well as high residual value are some of the qualities that make Scania’s offerings outstanding in Total Operating Economy and environmentally sustainable.

Aeon Connect Travels has been founded by Mr. Aby George, first time entrepreneur and businessman from Indore with interests in construction. He has been the brainchild of a number of projects in Indore. His passion and vision to provide good quality transportation systems led him to initiate the Greenfield project of Aeon Connect Travels in Kerala. While the initial service will focus on one route, Aeon Connect Travels will eventually be connecting many more routes from Kerala to the rest of the country.

Scania has established a relationship with EVM Motors, an exclusive dealer in Kerala for haulage trucks and buses. Today the EVM Group has gone on to become one of the most established dealerships for large organizations. The group has experienced rapid growth and innovative excellence under the leadership of Mr. Sabu Johny, Managing Director, EVM group and Mr. Jimmy Jose, Managing Partner, EVM Heavy Commercial Vehicles.

Launched at Busworld in Mumbai February last year, the Scania Intercity Coach range introduces highly reliable multi-purpose coaches for medium and long distance luxury travel for the Indian market. These luxury coaches are the product of knowledge gathered from studying the needs of long-distance bus passengers in India. Scania Metrolink HD is based on renowned Scania virtues such as robust design, maximum passenger and driver safety and comfort, leading fuel economy and a long and trouble-free service life.

Re: Upcoming Commercial Vehicles in India

Guess Tata is still developing the Paradiso for our Indian markets.
Divo is more or less utter flop in the segment currently.

Re: Upcoming Commercial Vehicles in India

Divo has serious quality issues as it is built by AGCL, Goa. They are not at all a competitor against the Volvos or Scanias. Better Tata launch the Paradiso G7 in India. Starbus Ultra ac coaches are available but not in the segment of Volvo/Scania.

They stopped divo and modified it as starbus ultra, didn't know AGCL was actually a coach builder, thought it was from Isuzu, but the body from AGCL looks good and decent.

Divo is a coach that's already made by Hispano Carrocera. This company was bought off by Tata Motors, and now the entity is called Tata-Hispano, just like Tata-Marcopolo. The Hispano & Marcopolo bodies that are available in EU et al are built on chassis of Volvo, Scania, MAN, etc. The cockpit is what the chassis manufacturer wants it to be - the coach builder can customise it, but cannot alter too many things there. The Tata-Hispano Divo that was launched in India initially had a 235bhp engine, and the later ones have 285bhp engines. Body is built by ACGL. ACGL is also a Tata subsidiary, that caters to the needs of Tata Motors. ACGL does build bodies on other chassis too, case in point the recently delivered buses of GSRTC, built on AL Viking chassis.

The Indian Divo can at best be compared to the Corona Majestik buses, though the latter is a monocoque and not a body-on-frame like the other RE buses (Tata LPO1624RE, Leyland 12M-RE, etc), considering the build quality and ride.

Guess Tata is still developing the Paradiso for our Indian markets.
The Paradiso series of bodies is an acclaimed body in the EU. The Paradiso G7-1200, G7-1600 and G7-1800 can be seen built on Volvo and Scania chassis. So, the body is ready, it's probably the chassis that's being developed. Tata uses Cummins engines on their buses, and these engines are not the best when it comes to NVH levels - an important factor concerning bus chassis (Leyland had plans to introduce a J-series engine in their Luxura fully-built bus, but the engine could not meet the required NVH levels, and the project is almost scrapped. Now, the Luxura is offered by AL on a 12M-RE chassis, fitted with H-series common-rail engine).
Divo is more or less utter flop in the segment currently.
Divo cannot have the premium status that Volvo or Scania can provide. Unless TM does some very serious marketing, the Divo is as good as a flop.

Tata Marcopolo is a 50:50 JV isn't it ? Whereas Hispano is wholly owned subsidiary.

So Tata need the Indian Divo to be cheap [frustration]

Could you please explain RE ?[:)]

What can Tata do to give stiff competition to the Volvos or Scanias ??
