Re: Upcoming Commercial Vehicles in India

Tata Marcopolo is a 50:50 JV isn't it ? Whereas Hispano is wholly owned subsidiary.
Should've made it more clear. Tata-Marcopolo is a JV, as you mentioned. I was referring to just the naming.
What can Tata do to give stiff competition to the Volvos or Scanias ??
Might be if they unleash Tata Paradiso IMO. Seems to be a good product.
That's only a distant possibility, with the way I see it. Wait and watch is all I can say, and I hope they rise up to the standards set by these Europeans

Re: Upcoming Commercial Vehicles in India

on my visit to belgaum, the day before yesterday, I saw a new bus being tested, it was on the golden quad (NH4). All badges were taped (that hat I noticed as I zipped past[embarass]) and it was on the opposite lane going towards bangalore.

I think it was a TATA Marcopolo. They have an assembly line at Darwad. And it looked like a double decked coach. May be i was fooled by the camouflage. It looked like a paradiso double decked coach from marcopolo.

Re: Upcoming Commercial Vehicles in India

The Indian made Fuso trucks have now entered in Bangladesh after their launch in Tanzania (FUSO Trucks From Chennai Launched in Tanzania - The Automotive India).
Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Pvt. Ltd. (DICV), a 100% wholly owned subsidiary of Daimler AG, Stuttgart, Germany along with Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation, Japan (MFTBC), a Daimler Company, launched its robust DICV-made FUSO trucks in Bangladesh, making it the 6th strategic market since the start of exports in May 2013. Bangladesh is one of the key markets in Asia for DICV-made FUSO trucks, as the products are designed and developed to meet the growing demand for reliable and robust trucks. The trucks will be sold through the exclusive dealer, Rangs Motors Limited, an authorized local distributor in Bangladesh of MFTBC. These trucks are already present in the markets of Kenya, Sri Lanka, Zambia, Tanzania and Zimbabwe with more markets to follow in Africa and Asia.

The FUSO truck range manufactured at DICV‘s Oragadam plant comprise 5 models spanning Medium/Heavy-duty (25 – 49 tonnes referred to as 'FJ', 'FO' & 'FZ') and Medium-duty (9 – 16 tonnes referred to as 'FA' & 'FI'). The robust, fuel-efficient trucks, developed to meet the ever demanding customer expectations in the growth markets, reinforce FUSO’s leading presence in Africa. Rigorous testing has been conducted under most strenuous driving conditions to ensure maximum reliability of the trucks.

FUSO is already showing strong growth potential in Africa with presence in over 35 markets, and almost doubling sales in the first quarter of 2014 to 2,000 units, compared to the same period in 2013. With the addition of this new range of trucks into its product portfolio, FUSO offers its customers a wider choice of Trucks that are robust, reliable and fuel efficient, backed by robust distribution network.

With a clear view on the growth potential in Africa, FUSO is in preparation to continuously add further markets to its strong market presence. Daimler Trucks Asia expects to gain additional growth momentum in the future markets on top of the current existing markets from its new Asia Business Model introduced in 2013. The new business model creates synergies by bundling the strengths of the Japan-based Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corp. (MFTBC) and Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) under the Umbrella of Daimler Trucks Asia.

Re: Upcoming Commercial Vehicles in India

News is that KeSRTC is getting non-A/C JanBus under the JNNURM2 scheme. KeSRTC placed the order or (going to place) with 30 Lakhs per bus. TML quoted 50000/- more and hence lost the bid is the news surfacing.
