Re: Upcoming Commercial Vehicles in India

Still on test? Is it not released when it was showcased in the '12 auto expo?

BTW, i see it has pretty low GC, Bumper has taken hits.
Actually I was seeing some jan bus chassis and it was in my knee level only. I think more or less same as Volvo I think.

Does anyone have news when TML will produce the (ad)venture concept shown at the auto expo and also the possible samll comm vehicle between the ace and the iris-zip-that was talked a about a while ago?
The eastern markets are getting a petrol ace with the nano engine-with diesel deregulation around the corner (i guess that may be a long corner) i wonder if we will see that as well here?

It's just for showcasing from Tata i believe, because there's no such craze for people in India to mod a van.

I don't think there's a need for it currently because both sells good in their respective segments.

Even if it comes at mouth watering price, i doubt them to see even one on roads.
Omni is the only way to go.

BTW i saw a brand new Tata Ultra truck in Bangalore, it looked very nice, it was a maroon colored one and was more like the imported model. On the contrary, Barath-Benz trucks are being seen a lot in cities and highways as well now-a-days.

Spotted Scania metrolink last week, from a distance it looks same like Mercedes Benz, was able to recognize only with the company logo, nevertheless Volvo B9R still has got better looks than any of them in the market.

BTW had the chance of travelling in Volvo last week, i must say it's one hell of a ride which is so comfortable where you won't feel being stressed. And the drivers enjoy very much driving and overtaking (but off-course abusing the machine and shooing other vehicles in the roads).

After the fire accidents, now all buses shows the video of overview of the bus, dos and don'ts, emergency evacuation procedures and all the stuff.

Tata Motors will place AMT tech in it’s buses and lorries

Tata Motors – The country’s largest commercial vehicles manufacturer, will equip its buses and lorries with the automated manual transmission (AMT) gearbox in the near future. Tata has now decided that its array commercial vehicles deserve the same treatment.

Buzz is that Tata Motors has already commenced testing of the AMT tech which has found its place in the Ultra range of vehicles made by the company. Tata is also to equip its famous Ace pickup with this auto box. The company is well aware of the benefits of using this setup as AMT gearboxes can be more fuel-efficient than their manual and fully automated transmission cousins.

^^ this is a great news for all, it is needed for commercial vehicles more than personal ones because i cannot see those drivers rudely shifting gears in city buses contributing to a lots of wear and tear to the clutches.

Re: Upcoming Commercial Vehicles in India

Friends,

TATA plans to launch 100 new Commercial Vehicles in India by 2018.

Report

Akash
Population growth is what i can comment[clap]

Jokes apart, today's Tata Commercial vehicles have evolved much better and more of consumer friendly.
For e.g., having a well laid dashboards, nice steering wheels and good looking vehicles (when compared to AL) says that Tata is giving much importance to CVs.

Way to go.

Re: Upcoming Commercial Vehicles in India

its their bread and butter bro. they have to come up with new designs and new concept. TATA from early days is mostly known for commercial vehicles only and whats the point if they don't rule this segment.
