Tata Motors today flagged off its green-fuel powered commercial vehicles to Tata Steel. The fleet includes Prima tractors, tippers and Ultra EV bus, powered by Liquefied Natural Gas and battery electric technologies.

Speaking about the long-standing partnership with Tata Motors, T. V. Tata Motors new age fleet of commercial vehicles come equipped with multiple safety features including Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), Electronic Stability Control, Active Traction Control and Driver Monitoring System, amongst others. The vehicles were handed over to Tata Steel’s delivery partners for transporting steel products and raw materials.

Mahindra Tractors has achieved a milestone by selling the brand's 40th Lakh tractor, inclusive of exports in March 2024.
  • The Mahindra Yuvo Tech Plus, based on Mahindra’s next-generation Yuvo tractor platform, marks this milestone.
  • The tractor rolled-out from Mahindra’s Zaheerabad facility, Mahindra’s youngest tractor facility and a global production hub for Mahindra Tractors.
  • Having rolled out its first tractor in 1963 through a partnership with International Harvester Inc. of the U.S., Mahindra Tractors surpassed the 1-Million-unit production mark in 2004.
  • The company then went on to claim the title of the world’s highest-selling farm tractor manufacturer by volume in 2009. 9-years later in 2013, Mahindra reached the 2-Million-unit production milestone.
  • The achievement was followed by the 3-Million mark in 2019. Spanning 60 years, Mahindra has broadened its offerings to encompass a diverse range of more than 390 tractor models.

TVS Supply Chain Solutions has won a new business contract from VE Commercial Vehicles for managing their in-plant warehousing and logistics function at Eicher Bus Factory in Baggad, Madhya Pradesh.
  • Volvo-Eicher Commercial Vehicles is associated with TVS SCS since 2006 for in-plant logistics operations for their truck plant in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh.
  • The new deal for VECV’s bus plant is for a period of three-years. This two-decade partnership has helped to create over 1200 job opportunities in Madhya Pradesh.
  • In-plant logistics services for the Baggad bus plant comprise seamless inward operations for timely receipt of parts; efficient storage and picking of parts from defined locations.
  • It also includes delivering the parts to designated assembly lines based on the Bill of Material, ensuring a steady flow of materials to maintain efficiency in the production line.

Tata Motors has commenced the deliveries of Tata Prima 5530.S LNG. Tata Motors had received an order to supply 150 such trucks. The first batch was handed over to Clean Green Fuel and Logistics Pvt. Ltd.
  • A Memorandum of Understanding to supply an additional 350 units of Prima 5530.S LNG was also signed between both the companies.
  • Tata Prima 5530.S LNG is powered by the fuel-efficient Cummins 6.7L Gas engine, delivering 280hp of power and 1100 Nm of torque.
  • The truck is available in single as well as dual fuel cryogenic tank options. Offering a range of over 1000 Kms, the dual tank option offers an extended range.
  • Furthermore, Tata Prima 5530.S LNG comes equipped with Fleet Edge, Tata Motors’ flagship connected vehicle platform for efficient fleet management.

Mahindra’s Truck and Bus Division today inaugurated a state-of-the-art dealership in Kolkata, West Bengal which adds 14 service bays that can service more than 28 vehicles per day.
  • The dealership also providing driver lodging, 24-hour breakdown assistance, and AdBlue availability.
  • MTBD has a guaranteed uptime on its Breakdown service by getting the truck back on road in 48 hours, else the Company will pay the customer ₹1,000 per day.
  • Additionally, the guaranteed turnaround of vehicle in 36 hours at the dealer workshop or company will pay ₹3,000 per day.
  • Mahindra Truck and Bus, in partnership with Ramkrishna Mission Institute, runs a Regional Training Center in Belur Math that has trained over 1,100 technicians in the last 6 years.
  • There is also a Fast Response Center in Kolkata, operating for 12 years, to ensure timely spare parts supply across an 8,000 sq.ft facility.

Tata Motors today announced a historic milestone of 15,00,000 sales in the Intermediate, Light and Medium Commercial Vehicles (ILMCV) segment.
  • Tata Motors becomes the only truck manufacturer in the country to achieve this milestone. The ILMCV segment includes trucks with gross vehicle weight ranging from 4 to 19 tonne.
  • To commemorate this achievement, Tata Motors has unveiled new variants of the Tata SFC 407 Gold, Tata LPT, Tata SFC 709G, Tata LPT 1109G, Tata LPK 1112 and Tata LPK 1416 range of trucks and tippers.
  • The company has also introduced financing schemes tailored for first-time buyers, alongside a 6-year extended warranty on all ILMCV trucks.
