On Monday I gave my sparky for 1 year/10000 KM Free service. Normally they will charge for the parts, during such services. Since I had CPCO I had paid ZERO amount even after there were some paid services/parts used this time.

While leaving for service I the following points were noted

  • 10000 KM Service
  • Brake Cleaning
  • Low FE
  • Hardness in steering wheel
  • Crossed steering wheel[The spokes where not straight]
  • Tyre Rotation
  • Reverse Gear Not properly engaging
  • Air filter intake hose was damaged
  • Suspension problem

Apart from that I asked about faded plastic parts for replacement and painting in dash board to avoid reflection in windshield mirror. For that he said replacement will not be possible thru CPCO office. Forgot to ask for price. If it is going to be less I can change it. Or I should do some DIY for polishing. Lucas/Chayan can help me in this.

Regarding dash he said all spark owners came with same problem but nothing can be done. He said painting is not possible in that. But lot of our TAIians had did it. Surendar has done it very nicely not only in dash but all plastic parts inside the car. Sai also did nice job in dash painting. I dont know how to do with third party.

And I wanted to fix Remote locking, he said Autocop will directly come home and fix it.

He was supposed deliver the vehicle on next day that was on Tuesday. But on Tuesday he called me and told that because of Tyre Rotation he has to do the wheel aligning and said the vehicle will be delivered by next day that is on Wednesday. I agreed.

yesterday I had came to office by bike and thought of going home and then pick the car from service center. But in the evening he said I have to pick it up by 5.30 which will not be possible i go home and try picking it up. So I took my friend and collected the vehicle. I paid ZERO amount even then the bill was for around Rs.2.5k

i could not check all points which was noted in the job sheet since my friend was driving the vehicle back home. On the way back I want to fill petrol and I visited near by HP fuel filling station and I was about to get cheated and narrowly escaped and save Rs.300 odd rupees. Pls go thru http://www.theautomotiveindia.com/f...uelling-tricks-petrol-pumps-6.html#post224004 for details.

Today I called up Autocop and fixed for appointment on Saturday evening and he will come home and do the fittings. Its costs Rs. 3500/- with three year warranty [Do not know do I have to pay extra for fitting, forgot to ask]

I will do test run today and give feedback tomorrow.

Friends,

Still no time for a decent drive to do all checks. But did a 6 KM drive day before yesterday and seems to be all okie. But I still feel something wrong with power steering. I think I should drive some other car which has power steering then compare it with mine.

10000 KM Service - Done as per regular servicing
Brake Cleaning - Can feel some difference
Low FE - Need to check.
Hardness in steering wheel - Still feel something wrong. See my comments in first para
Crossed steering wheel[The spokes where not straight] - Corrected
Tyre Rotation - Done with wheel alignment
Reverse Gear Not properly engaging - Done
Air filter intake hose was damaged - Replaced
Suspension problem - He told it is serviced. Let me check

Filled 35 ltrs of petrol [Full capacity is 38] Let me try checking FE after 100 KMS.

For plastic parts am planning to buy what suggested by Chayan

With regards to black plastic treatment, I mean this:Others, Motomax Bumper Black
. I need advice how to do this without spilling in body and spoiling it. Can I use some brush? Ideas/Suggestions please

Yesterday finally fixed remote locking. Here I had some confusion. Guys please help me. I have called up Autocop india and ordered for remote locking. That guy told me he will come home and fix it in the evening. Before I go home he started the work. Then I found the box says Piranha. When I asked him about that, he said only for direct fitting in GM's car Autocop will be provided. For others only this will be fixed and showed me the manufacturer name as Autocop India PVT ltd.

Since he had started I did not do anything. And no bill was provided. He told me that it has warranty of 3 years and he can be called anytime. I spoke with KLN guy who gave his number also. He said no problem with him being he is genuine guy.

Cost was Rs.3500 and Paid Additional Rs. 200 myself. He came late home and completed it around 10.30pm.

It has the following features

  • Remote locking
  • Central locking
  • Auto locking in ignition on
  • Auto unlock in off
  • Door open warning
  • Bonnet protection
  • Reverse honking with hazard light
  • Auto re-lock in 45 seconds [When the doors are not opened]. If the doors are opened once then it will never lock until we forcefully lock it. This is to avoid accidentaly locking leaving the key inside.
  • Mute lock/unlock
  • Converting to manual mode [can be used while giving the vehicle for servicing.

Congrats Sethu Sir, Diwali gift is realy nice. Did you fix that cover back to the door? Are planning for wiring kit for the headlamps? If yes, it is easy DIY, opt for Roots/Hella brand. Might cost total 900/- max.

All the best

You have not been cheated. Piranha is the Model Name of the product, made by Autocop company. My neighbour got the same model installed in his indigo. The price is also decent. Make sure that you have the warranty card. If the installer comes again, ask him about receipt and filling of warranty card.

BTW: Have you noticed how the installer removed the door pads and fixed them back ??? It would be helpful if you install door lamps as a DIY.

And also I do not know how to take wire from cabin light
