Then on what basis that girl quoted Rs. 2700 for remote locking. And I was able to get in touch with one of the service center and found that the stock is readily available. Need to check with other service center.

Guys, some clarifications.

Clarification no 1
When I checked with a third party [ Privilege Moto Mall ] which is near my office, they said Minda will be costing aroun Rs.4100 if the central locking system is already available. If not I need to spend additional of Rs.900 for central locking also.

The same guy told me that if it is autocop, he will be able to make it for Rs.3500. The same amount was quoted by Genuine Car Accessories also.

Pls tell me do our spark has central locking inbuilt already?

Clarification 2
If possible can some one help me to understand these features related to central locking and what kind of features minimum I should require with the basic budget.
  • 2 Channel receiver
  • 2 Stage impact/Shock sensor
  • 6 Tone Siren
  • Alarm Memory / LED indication
  • Anti Hijacking
  • Auto re-arming
  • Auto re-lock
  • Chirp & Silent arm / Disarm
  • Chirp while arm / Disarm
  • Code hopping
  • Door / Trunk & Bonnet entry protection
  • Electronic learn remote
  • Entry protection, vehicle locator
  • Flashing light indication
  • Immobilizer (Optional)
  • Lock reminder
  • Manual / Remote central locking
  • Nuisance prevention circuitry
  • Open door warning
  • Over ride arming
  • Override arm
  • Panic mode
  • Passive arming / Locking
  • Power door lock
  • Progressive alarm
  • Reverse horn
  • Silent mode arm / Disarm
  • Stereo loop sensor
  • Stereo protection
  • Valet mode
  • Vehicle locator
  • Water resistant remote
  • Zones indication

Clarification 3
Pros and cons of having Remote locking/auto locking/central locking
if you can lock all the doors from the driver side doors then you have central locking system.

Auto re-lock
--> this will lock the doors automatically if you didnt open the door after unlock from remote and also it locks when you start moving

Chirp & Silent arm / Disarm
Chirp while arm / Disarm

--> you can turn off the alarm sound when you lock or unlock [ silent mode ]

Door / Trunk & Bonnet entry protection

--> alarm is triggered if bonnet or boot is opened without the remote.[ sounds if you open with the key]

Entry protection, vehicle locator
--> indicator/ hazard light blinks to identify the vehicle

Lock reminder
--> if your doors are not properly closed and you lock the car with remote it indicates

Manual / Remote central locking
--> you can either lock with the key or the remote

Open door warning
--> triggers alarm if you open the door with out the remote

Reverse horn
--> alarm sounds when reverse gear is engaged

Pros and cons of having Remote locking/auto locking/central locking

pros --> easy to lock, locks all door in one press , can stay out of fear of thefts.

cons --> you need the remote always, remote life and battery life , some times the sound irritates

autocop is a good one . we have the same in our accent and nano.
got it done in 3000rs (1 year back)
now the alarm horn is not working

@saishibu38380.

Thank you friend. That is extensive list of clarification provided.

As per the quotes given, Minda is costly and for central locking alone they said Rs.900 etc.

What about autocop or xenos? within that Rs.3k or Rs.3.5k they can do everything.. Like remote + Central Locking.

If ASS Quote Rs.500 + I will go with them for autocop. I believe Autocop is the OEM manufacturer for Chevy Spark.

its better to do in ASS, because if the installation is not proper , you will get rattling sound inside

I second Saishibu. Any electrical modification should be carried out at ASC during warranty period to be in safe side. Moreover, generally the quality of work is always better at ASC. Me too have got Autocop fitted at ASC. (It would have cost Rs 700 less outside but I ignored the price gap to have peace of mind)

Guys I checked with ASS regarding Autocop. They have said they dont do this. And Autocop is located close to the ASS. They autocop can come to my home and do the complete fitting. Total cost would be around Rs.3500.

I will be getting back my vehicle from service [1st year] by this evening. May be I can AUTOCOP Guys to come and do the work either today or tomorow.

Little help from you guys by some suggestions/comments/ideas on this.

Addition to that I got this 3 LED Light Battery Powered Stick Tap / Emergency Touch Light thru online. I will be fixing this in my parcel trey for boot lighting today.

@Sethu, that's nice. I will also get one and try sticking it rear passengers. [clap]
Dharmesh, I think already some one tried this inside the cabin and it was failure for him since the sticky stuff does not stick properly in our roofs.

Actually what I have planned is to fix the rear portion with screws in the parcel trey and then fix the front portion portion to it in normal way. Thought of alerting you. If you have any other alternate idea please share.

@lucas. Thanks.

yes I did it. But it took just 15 minutes for entire process[;)]. only thing is how long it will last, When I think of my Son and Dotty. Being kids they may not handle it softly. In spite of that I have told them how to use it. Let me keep my fingers cross.
