Thanks. Am planning to fix those in door trims [Am I right?] so that even if there is any problem I can simple replace it with minimum change over cost. We have this in both front and rear doors
Sethu,
I have also placed these kind of lights on the door im calling them "Door Warning Lights" for ease of understanding. I haven't connected them to an electrical source as yet.

My question here is -

1. If im going to connect the light connection to the cabin light, wont all the four door lights come ON even when one door is opened ?

2. Is there any way i can have only that particular door light switch on when i open the door (any switch or sensor)

My main concern while fitting these lights was to give it a quality finish, as in to look as if it were OEM, hence i didnt want to use LED's

My god, first of all I should thank you for asking me such questions assume I am genius in such things. Really not. I am myself learning slowly with cars and still I am so scared of doing certain things thinking that if am not doing it properly I will spoil it.

We have our gurus here, Mr. Varun, Mr. Shantanu, Mr. Saishibbu. Mr. Lucas, Mr. Chayam.

Hope they see it and give you a proper reply.

To be very frank I have not thought as you were thinking. But just by seeing some post, why don't you connect those bulbs directly with the switch attached to every door. So only that door warning lamp alone will work.

Experts suggestions pls.

The lights in the door pads are innova fender indicators, to be honest i spent about two weeks checking out the indicators of different types of cars, i liked the Honda city, and innova indicators and finally zeroed in on the innova indicators (Co-incidentally these indicators are same across all cars in Toyota from the ETIOS to FORTUNER )

how u fixed it? did u cut the door panel?
Yes, the door pad has to be cut to accommodate the light, make sure the cut is a little smaller , then just push the light in, im still searching for a permanent solution though - like fastening a screw from the back (should not be visible from front)

Im actually a little confused here - the door switch is already doing the job of switching the lights on/off when doors are opened; so does it have the provision for doubling up like the way you are saying ?

Regarding query no1 you are correct.
Regarding query no 2 IMO:
The simplest way will be to get the positive only from cabin light.then connect the negative from the door switch.

If you need each door to glow when that door is opened you need to have separate door switch and wiring this might be a tough job.

IMO its not required too. If you need I have a simple wiring to be done, let me try today and let you know !!

When I going thru dealextream I found some doom LED lights [actually planning to send one to my freind who has got a Beat Diesel LT recently] I could not understand the measurement mentioned it. What it means [39mm, 31mm, 42mm]. I was thinking that mostly doom bulbs are common and all cars will have same kind of holder [like our normal CFL bulbs/Tube lights]. Some one pls explain

Dear Sethu,
dome lights for auto use comes in various dimensions, 31mm, 36mm etc, these are the festoon length.

as for me the front cabin light is 31mm and the rear one is 36mm. so if possible try to measure with a scale. if not try to get one with adjustable festoon like the one given below.

the body coloured one looks like the stock RVM of other cars like swift . but the chrome looks like the one on innova, tavera. IMO go for body coloured. also ask them if the LEDS are amber/blue

hi, vicky.in is in chennai and they have the option of direct costumer pick-up.
recently i ordered headlight chrome coverings for nano about 4 months back and they sent a mail that there is no stock and asked me to change the product. as i was not interested in any other i asked them to refund. they just refused it and im still waiting for the product to come.[frustration]
