Thanks for the inputs doc. Here is the update. My dad had driven Creta that belongs to his friend, who still owns an Innova and a decade old Santro. The version he drove is SX 1.6 base and he got floored with its performance.I was shocked that how he became lover of Creta from hater of same.Yes,he hated Creta due to its small size but one ride changed his mind. This seems to be a perfect replacement for our Vento. But,waiting period in Hyderabad is 3 months as of today.I feel that my dad had enjoyed driving Creta 1.6 CRDI after driving Vento 1.6 TDI for almost 3 years.

I think 1.6 CRDI will replace 1.6 TDI soon.Will wait and see.If it's Creta,will go for AT or SX(O).

Sorry for going OT.
IMO there is no OT in your reply friend [:)]. And it is a great decision to go for the Hyundai Creta, especially the 1.6 CRDI Model. I am also going for the Hyundai Creta 1.6 CRDI SX (O) MT.[:)], But a bit confused with the upcoming Maruti Vitara Brezza Because it looks stunning, do you think i can wait for it and My Suggestion why don't you to consider it.

Hey buddy. You have made the right choice with the Creta. The Vitara Brezza is a smaller package (under 4 meters) and uses a 1.3L engine. The Creta, a bit bigger than Maruti and a more powerful 1.6L engine is better and the one to go for.

Advance congratulations for buying Creta doc.Dont go for Brezza as its engine is 1.3L and you will feel the same as your Swift.

Btw,did about 170 Kms within city due to airport runs.

Now,odo is 87405 Kms.Still 2500 Kms for 90,000 Kms service. This will get done next month.Did 74000 Kms in 2.11 years. The 90K Kms service will decide whether we should sell this car or not as we sold our Swift after doing close to 80,000 Kms in 3 years of usage.

Ohh so you sold your swift right? and thanks friends i also thought of the same but my dad is telling that first we'll get the Mahindra XUV5OO and then Hyundai Creta after that we'll drive the fiesta well and sell it and go for the Maruti ciaz and i am ok with it too. As we want sunroof we are going for the XUV5OO First. Sorry for going OT. Music_swift if you have decided to sell the vento better sell it outside rather than exchanging it in a car showroom. for example when i was planning to buy my next hatch back i.e when Zen was with us we asked for price quote for our Zen and in maruti the told we can take it for only 90,000/- [shock] and when the Volkswagen person came and gave the quote for the same Zen the told we can take it for 1,15,000/- I was pretty ok with that. And later i decided to post premium Ad in Cardekho.com for my Zen and surprising the car was sold within a week and for a better price that is 1,30,000/- so kindly go for a outside selling formula to get better price. (my suggestion) and also ask for a quote outside also.[:)]. after that think once to twice before selling the car about the cost and you know about your car right, so fix and stand in your price and you will surely able to sell your car.

I just love this thread for various reasons.
For eg.
1)You get know names of almost all the car brands right from Abarth to Volvo, .like drop down menu of a car purchase app.
2)Almost all the posts by OP you read to see that car odo is showing different readings, 'more kms - more posts
3) Despite advices from almost all the participants to get rid of the car, the OP is holding her tightly close to the chest.

Mefeels, This car shouldn't be sold unless you are getting resale value similar to Marutis.

Reasons. :
1)Only grouse against the car of OP is maintainance cost. And still he is thinking of exchanging it with another Vento. So ASS cost issue is null and void because loss at resale value would be more than the future ASS cost. Whatever peace of mind is to be gained , due to exchange of this car with another Vento is going to last for few days only. as per day running is high & for that 'peace of mind' he will have to pay new RTO, tax, insurance, other taxes etc and that would be too much.

2)Also, the best time to sell the car was before the accident & before the VW emission scam was exposed, as both these factors have brought down the resale value considerably, on the top of these factors it's Jan 16, so theoretically, one more year is added in the car's age. And since the car is doing well after the accident repair, No one else(resale buyer) other than present owner (OP) is going to understand the meaning of the 'doing well ' factor.

3)Better to retain the car as long as possible, no harm in getting the car repainted to carbon grey or new brown of current Vento, it will, to some extent, pacify the itch of getting another Vento. This will also improve the resale value if at all it is sold after 2L km, Also, the paint work would be done meticulously & on time as it would be done by uncle. And by that time dust flowing on the resale value of the car due to emission scam would also settle down.

4)If car is retained, it won't be too much of pain for OP's dad as compared to new car, as it would be used as a learning & practice car for rest of the family, and getting minor dents & scratches during such practice are not uncommon.

5) And by the time, appropriate moment to sell the car comes, we will get more brand names to discuss such as. DC, jeep renegade, wrangler, JGC lab lab la...

88000 Kms done!

Completed 88000 Kms two days ago. That means we did 75000 Kms in almost 3 years.90K Kms service is due next month as we do 90,000 Kms earlier than that. This car is still impressing my parents due to its amazing pickup,German build quality. As of now, there is no plans to sell this car as this car still impresses us.But,the exterior started looking old due to beatings by bikers in city traffic. So,planning to get the fresh paint again soon but lack of vitamin-m and alternate car is not letting us to get this things. My father still likes the car but I said if you want the same feel of Vento, get yourself another Vento but this time TDI DSG.It will impress you much and you will forget driving a Manual car after that.Trust me after doing 88000 Kms,it's performance is still stronger than a Diesel Honda City, which has run close to 30000 Kms.But what I'm missing is cruise control and Bluetooth connectivity with music streaming in this car. With the ever increasing traffic in our city,I feel that AT is needed. But the question is retain this car and buy a hatch or SUV as a second car or after few months,we can sell the Vento TDI MT for TDI DSG.I have seen people doing more than 1L Kms on Vento made me to rethink whether sell or not.

3 years and 76000 Kms done!

Did 2 highway trips in 2 days. Now,odo reading is more than 88700+ Kms and nearing to 89000 Kms.Meanwhile,we have done nearly 76000 Kms in 3 years.

Btw,completing 3 years with this car this week.We may upgrade this car soon but not now as we are in a need for second car.Thinking to do more highway trips in this car as soon as I complete my exams, which is getting completed on March 16th and complete 1L Kms sooner.

FordFiesta1.6-Bro,we used to have Swift VDI,which we bought 6 years ago and sold it in 2013 for Vento. The Swift which I mentioned in my signature belongs to my brother's car. This one is 2011 one previous gen and one of the last cars of previous gen. This car has run 67000 Kms whereas our old Swift had run close to 80000 Kms when we sold it.2010 one was silver whereas 2011 one is white.

89000 Kms done!

My dad did about 400 Kms trip up and down yesterday and another milestone has been done.Yes,car has completed 89000 Kms yesterday and now the odo reading is 89220 Kms.We bought this car when it was just 13000 Kms and after 3 years, the odo is 89000 Kms,in which we had run 76000 Kms.

Btw,car has completed 3 years with us and posted this ownership review 3 years ago and almost 57000 views and 25 pages.Wow!Time is flying so fast. Thanks for showing interest on my thread. It seems that my review has been helpful for present Vento owners and future Vento owners.

I hope this car will impress me much.Thats the reason I'm asking my dad to get Vento TDI again, but DSG this time.

More highway trips are coming soon after March.

Doc-My suggestion is to go ahead with Vento and glad that my thread helped you very much. Thanks for that. But,if you buy a VW car,get an extended warranty of 2 years, which is of 4 years.

After the good experience with VW,again thinking to buy Vento TDI,but in DSG as a replacement for Vento TDI MT soon. And,considering an used Rapid TDI again after good experience with Vento but VW A.S.S is in our city is way better than Skoda or Verna 1.6 CRDI as a replacement for our Swift soon so that I can use Rapid whereas my dad will use Vento.

Here is a pic which is taken today on the occasion of completing 3 years today.
