The main reason I was looking at Lenovo is, since they are new player in the market there is a price advantage. Lenovo has excellent customer service in the pc/laptop world and now they have pushing aggressively into smart phone market. And also this phone is for my wife so not planning for rooting or other adventurous stuff for the time being. Lenovo has great battery backup in comparison to other manufacturers.

Went to a local store and found Lenovo S820 selling at 14.3K after discounts! Looks very sweet, with 13MP rear and 2MP front camera, OS KK, and full HD screen. Almost went to buy it but then controlled horses and come back. But who knows I might end up buying it.[roll]

Why mtk ks bad ? I think they offer good processor with lesser price than Qualcomm.

Ps : sony xperia c uses mtk processor.

Redmi Note received 15 million pre order and it uses a mediatek processor.
As far as I know, MTK doesn't release source codes and so it is a bit difficult to produce a bugless ROM.

Indian, then I suggest you to get the Lenovo one because you liked it. SP got poor battery life I heard.

I as a customer would be interested in performace of the chipset and not source code or anything.

Well, I told that because he is interested in modding (I thought the phone was for him).
I'm interested in the longevity of the phone, i.e, more updates and new goodies. I don't want a phone that is soon to be left in the dust.

And who said Xperia C is good phone? I'd rather buy a Micromax with the same specs at a lower price.

EDIT: Redmi Note sold that much because of its specs at that price. Don't bring that here. The price is so less.

Again, what do you mod ? Rom or the processor ?

First you talk about modding then you are saying company won't push updates. The maie reason for mod is when company stops updating their phones.

I gave an example of xperia c because a company like sony is using mtk processor so it can't be bad. And many people went to xperia c just because of the screen size even after suggesting them SP.

And why shouldn't i bring redmi ? Are those 15 million people mad to buy a phone having mtk processor ? I don't think so.

We can overclock our processors also.[;)]
See, we can't predict anything about official updates. Kitkat for S3 was first planned, then cancelled, then again started and at last cancelled. I can enjoy a kitkat ROM because of the phone's AWESOME dev. support.

What makes Sony so good? You say they make products according to the needs of the people, they're that trustworthy? They did it for only, profit. If it was a good company, they should've put at least a Snapdragon 400 to it.

One more, T2 Ultra is sold for 24K with Snapdragon 400 while Moto G is sold for 14K. Sure, it has a bigger screen and a better camera. But still 10K?

You can include Redmi if it is sold in India, or available in India, for exactly the same price.

rooting got much more simpler
click the lambda @ towelroot.com , and install the app.
download supersu from download.chainfire.eu/supersu since the one in playstore is not up to date
run the app you downloaded on your device.

will not work on HTC and moto phones since /system is write protected
supports most phones < jun 3 2014

just rooted my xperia tab Z as had lost root @ 4.4 :p:

Google Play has a major security problem:
Researchers have discovered a crucial security problem in Google Play, the official Android app store where millions of users of Android, the most popular mobile platform, get their apps.

Jason Nieh, professor of computer science at Columbia Engineering, said Google Play has more than one million apps and over 50 billion app downloads, but no one reviews what gets put into Google Play-anyone can get a 25-dollar-account and upload whatever they want. Very little is known about what's there at an aggregate level.

He said given the huge popularity of Google Play and the potential risks to millions of users, we thought it was important to take a close look at Google Play content.

Nieh and PhD candidate Nicolas Viennot's paper is the first to make a large-scale measurement of the huge Google Play marketplace. To do this, they developed PlayDrone, a tool that uses various hacking techniques to circumvent Google security to successfully download Google Play apps and recover their sources.

They discovered all kinds of new information about the content in Google Play, including a critical security problem: developers often store their secret keys in their apps software, similar to usernames/passwords info, and these can be then used by anyone to maliciously steal user data or resources from service providers such as Amazon and Facebook

That is same even in windows operating system. Eg: When we search for a cleaning software, we get all types of malware/adware along with the software (if we do not know what to download). People might have seen a warning with big letters 'YOUR COMPUTER IS AT RISK. CLICK HERE FOR A FREE CLEANUP'. It neither cleans nor correct your pc but it installs adware/malware/spyware in your pc. Same case everywhere.

Always read the reviews, see the number of downloads, try to know what it takes from our system etc. Install what you want and NOT what others are having.

Xiaomi Mi3 with 2.3GHz quad core processor in India for Rs. 14999

Xiaomi goes official, launched the Mi3 in India for a very tempting price of Rs. 14,999. Interested? Well you will have to wait until July 15 when it will be made available. From the price factory the Xiaomi Mi3 is surely going to rock.

So the word is out it is indeed the Xiaomi Mi3 handset that was the first to be launched in India. There is another product the Mi Power Bank that has also been launched, the price however is not yet disclosed.

Both the Mi3 and the Mi Power bank have been listed on their official mi.com/in website. The Mi3 sports a 5 inch screen with 1080p resolution, it’s an IPS retina screen that runs Android 4.3 with MIUI ver 5.0.

There is 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. Also included is 13MP rear camera with dual LED flash and 2MP on the front. Both cameras can shoot FHD videos. The Mi3 houses qualcomm snapdragon quad core 800 8274AB processor with Adreno 330 GPU. The CPU is clocked at 2.3GHz.

Key features are 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth 4.0. There is NFC too. The Mi3 comes loaded with good number of sensors – accelerometer, barometer, magnetic, gyro, light and proximity. Battery is 3050 mAh Li-ion that should be more than sufficient. It is a single SIM handset without external card support.

The Xiaomi Mi3 will be available online from 15th July via Flipkart for Rs. 15,000, I guess it will go out of stock soon, so watch out.
